Review: Varga is an upcoming producer, and as Yuka demonstrates, is a new artist to watch. Mining a particularly trippy take on minimalism, he also draws on acid and deep house to create the title track. The wacked out, stream of consciousness vocals aren't entirely dissimilar to the ones on Marshall Jefferson's classic "Mushrooms", while the drum rolls and gurgling acid line is derived from Chicago jack tracks. On "Kubu", the Spanish producer favours a dubby sound that's not a million miles from the tribal house of his name-sake Halo Varga. Also included are two remixes of the title track - the System 2 take is similar to Varga's own "Kubu", while on the Emery Warman version, a menacing, ominous bass is fused with the original version's drum rolls to create a darkly euphoric reshape.
