Review: Northern giant Original Sin kicks the Souped Up doors down and makes himself at home with his pals Eksman and Trigga. Summoning up all the powers of Greyskull, 'Masters Of The Universe' goes all in with a big high freq wobbly bassline while Eksman calls 999 and warns them of a new pandemic on 'Drum N Bass Fever'. Further into this hectic collection we ride to find Trigga doing the damn thing on 'Chronic' before old Sinny closes the EP with the curmudgeonly slap-about 'The Other Side'. We have the power.
Review: Trigga ain't messing around. He never has. But as he tags in with Abstrakt Sonance, things are even more serious than they ever have been. Following outings like 'Black Pearl' and 'Systematic Ruling' earlier this year comes another dark, deadly piece. Released on Shadow Demon, this one is Manchester to the core as Trigga analyses his rise over some mean and lean halftime vibes. Unhurried, tense and loaded with a message we can all identify with. Pull up.
Review: Put some money in their hands! Bou and Trigga's already massive 'Veteran' gets the VIP treatment and it's finally ready for us mere mortals. Classic Bou roughhouse bassline funk, signature story telling from a true Manchester OG, delivered on one of the most on-point labels in the game right now; there's a reason 'Veteran' hit the spot so succinctly in the first place. This VIP makes sure the spot remains hit for a long time to come. Start with your lyrics, sing for your song.
Review: Trigga is an MC on fire at the momentum, having featured on Bou's renowned tune 'Veteran', and this time around he's on Shadow Demon along with Abstrakt Sonance, and the pair have collaborated on a devilishly potent single. It's minimal yet cut through with jump flavours, and it's the balance of the two which will strike you most, it's not overbearing or screeching but balanced perfectly. It gives space for the vocals to breathe and Trigga is given room to really shine as an MC and the workload is split right down the middle. Big stuff.
Review: Coming out with the one-tracker, Rowney has teamed up with one of the hottest vocal acts in the field of heavy dnb right now - MC Trigga. The man is floating after teaming up for huge collabs with the likes of Bou and more, so it's unsurprising that he pulls out a stellar performance on this twisting, grinding slice of jump up dnb. Rowney never messes around and 'Dun Dem' is no different, its bouncing layers of synth offering everything you could ever want from a dancefloor tune. Big up Shadow Demon for the release.
Review: Someone give Sam Binga some shampoo - his EP cap fits so well he's been wearing it since April! Thing is, it fits so well... No matter how you dress it. Previous iterations of tracks from the EP landed late summer, now comes a new chapter as Halogenix dons his Lordel guise for an iced-out halftime take of the Paul Wall-fronted title track that creeps with real shadowy wave feels. Speaking of shadows, and indeed Halogenix, "Flexha" is a brand new fix up of Bing and Halogenix's "I'm An Adult" now loaded with full fire bars from the one and only Trigga. Thiccer vibes, still the same badboy cap. Strictly 18+
Review: This fresh single coming from the Jungle Cakes crew has one of the best MC line-ups we've seen in a long time, with Trigga, Boomah, Specimen A and Navigator all coming correct for what is a fresh little roller with an old-school twist. Deekline is on production, and 'Duppy Destroyers' ebbs and flows with a comfortable sense of nonchalance, bassy stabs punctuating its sparse but satisfying percussive line and an overall feeling of ragga influence permeating every second of its playtime. Suitable for carnival season, this one.
