Review: Based in Walsall, the Chameleon Audio imprint, headed up by MoJoe and Chemist RNS, has been one of the most impressive midlands based movements in recent years. This latest compilation entitled 'Colours' sees them gather together a selection of their finest troopers, including the likes of Chemist RNS, Aranha, Triple S, Particle and more. We also some exciting debuts from the likes of Defiant and Khabs as well as stormers from S3 Dubs with 'Blur' and Sensi with 'Corvus'. For us the standout track of the whole compilation comes from grimey man of the minute Jakebob alongside fellow producer and vocalist: Rakjay entitled 'Sailor Jerry's. The pair get busy on this one as they lay down some skippy UKG flavours and electric vocal flows.

Review: If this isn't already in your collection you don't know how lucky you are... Given away two years ago for a limited amount of time, this bass-meets-grime collection was a blink-and-miss affair. Until now... Back all it's 21 track glory, it's ablaze with fusion fire from Creep N00m & Ronin's itchy-trigger finger banger "Kill", Pelikann's 4x4 Dizzee-twisted widow maker "Stand Up Tall" and Mr Dubz's planet-bouncing "Spaceman". And that's not even touching the sides. Serious heat that's still sounding future two years later; don't miss this one again.

Review: It's quite hard to tell exactly what genre Triple S goes for in their tracks, but duo's hybrid solutions are exactly the sort of thing we want to hear from a UK artist. Coming through on Projects All Out "Business" is a proper face-melter, a tune boasting savage mutant bass slabs and powerful bass drums, but "Buttons" is a lot more stepping, charged and grimed-out. "Hungry II" is another mutant special, except this time Triple S goes for the early breakbeat-dubstep sound that was pioneered by the likes of Toasty: one that we still love. Check "Virtual" for its jagged stabs of percussion too, any of these killer could have easily made it on a Plastician mixtape back in the days.

Uniting their many lengmen for a deep exploration of the pastures between bassline house, instrumental grime and the broader realms of bass music, every area is covered. Highlights include the eski angst of Chemist RNS' "Stare", the violin-snapping, post-dubstep darkness of Deadbeat UK's "Graveyard", the outrageous VIP muscles of Hoax and Dubzta's "Twilight Zone" and the sassy vocal flexery of Pavv's "You Got Me". This is just the tip of the bassline iceberg, though. Dig deep and grab your own lenger; there are enough here for everyone.

Review: An absolute leviathan of a compilation from Project Allout here, and it's just in time for some Christmas cheer from one of the fastest growing UK bass hubs in the game! A tad packed for us to go through it all, but this is guaranteed quality, especially given the fact that the release features plenty of label regulars, new faces and even some pretty incredible cameo appearances from the likes of Caspa, Deadbeat and Dubzta. Each puts in a fine performance, particularly Deadbeat with his "Street Life" cut, a glorious mashup of funky house breaks and wobbled low-end. Be sure to check the licks from Spooky, Mr Dubzta and Tuff Culture, too. Badman vibes and another stunner from Project Allout.

Review: MoJoe and Chemist RNS release their first full EP and each track is such a stern lesson in instrumental grime heaviness Grime Disciple has compared them to war dubs. We kick off with the title track. All double kicks and bass hits that pour over the drums so fast they pour over each side, it's a mesmerising mess of low end messages. "2099" is a future-focused shot of sharpness; Eski-beats at full effect, it's just as much garage or breakbeat as it is grime. "Moon Base" tells a dark tale of alien invasions over the jugular-punching break and ominous subs while we climax with the demonic tones and far-away drum spaciousness of "No Guy Test". Hungry? You won't be once you've feasted on these.
