Review: Troy Gunner marks a new step in an ascendant career with the introduction of his very own imprint. Simply titled GUNNER, this project will be predominantly vinyl-focused and will act as a platform for his own productions as well selected peers. Beginning with the stripped-down factory floor stomp of "Stay Where You Are" this is the kind of dub techno redolent of the Fachwerk label, his sound then travels via Bristol with the broken and bass heavy sludge of "Echolalia". Finally "Esperanza" closes out this impressive EP on an abstract tip, with its slack and splintered beats with textural sound design working together to create a haunting and disorienting feel.

Review: Brotherhood Soundsystem is a Leeds based bass music label run by Silas and Will. They're back with their second offering in a series of compilations entitled 'Percussive Parameters', delivering percussion and bass driven grooves. Troy Gunner will take you deep into the exotic via "Pleading"?, Silas & Snare get rather ethereal and atmospheric with "Memories" which is geared for some real moments of hypnotism. Elsewhere, Agrippa deliver some absolutely lush polyrhythms on the wonderful "Ziplash" and Yak serves up the release's most intense and heady moment with the brooding and minimalistic "Showdown".

Review: Hailing from UK bass capital, Bristol, Troy Gunner has already appeared on the likes of Black Butter and Sound Pellegrino. Now after a break he's back on Jakwob's Boom Ting with "Slack In The Noose'. The time off has clearly changed his outlook as the tune moves on from the bass sounds of yore, instead incorporating an effects-laden percussive tech approach. Stark and minimal with whirring beats, this is body music, 21st century-style! "Bottle Bang" is even deeper still, with the twisting percussive whirls carrying swishes and sways trough your body and brain, leaving both scrambled in its wake!

Review: It's 2016 and that means a new Sound Pellegrino compilation for you, this time a handsomely mixed, ultra-packed release by Teki Latex and Orgasmic. Rather than sticking to one genre - as is the norm with the label - the boys decide to throw down a wide variety of house and techno from the usual suspects on the label. Launching techno, slithering house, and even a little bit of bass stabbings from the likes of Helix, the abominable Truncate, Air Max 97, and many others. Big and juicy for ya.

Review: After coming to the surface last year with his appearance on Mindset, Troy Gunner heads into dub techno territory to further develop his melodic, atmospheric sound. This two track release for Infinite Machine features ample sonics for those times you need a little more reflection in your 4/4, not least on the immersive chords of "Masks". The snappy vocal licks bring a different texture to bear on a familiar template of melancholic momentum, but it's "The Valley" that switches the mood up with a low slung and skippy micro-house groove that slots in very smoothly indeed around the ponderous chords.

Review: Since debuting on L2S Recordings last year Bath based producer Troy Gunner has obviously been refining his already considerably slick variety of future garage. "Headlights" is a downtempo excursion into clipped beats, blissfully languorous chords and abstract chopped and screwed vocals, while "Thank You For Nothing" takes a halfstepping groove and combines it with some funk infused R&B, and "Elixir" finishes things off with some acidic squelch grounding the track's helium grooves and cloudy sidechained synths.

Review: Newcomer producer Troy Gunner joins the L2S camp with a pack of future garage strapped firmly to his back. Inside is a whole heap of serious sub bass pressure, soothing synths and pared down beats. First up, "No More Tears" chops up sinuous beats with a lilting vocal and velvety b-line; "Sworn I'll Forget" meanwhile adds a more sonorous, chiming element with Joy Orbison syle patina. "Association" takes us on a mellifluous trip down 4/4 lane, with clicking beats and bleeps and a minimal sonic palette before moody "It's Not You" concludes the EP.
