Review: Planet Rhythm has been on a roll lately with its dub sub-series, delivering three excellent EPs in rapid succession. The seventh drop in the series is brought to us by Two Sided Agency, immersing us instantly in deep sounds. 'Backwards Compatibility' is a warm and inviting dub techno track, featuring tightly layered drums. 'Multi Polarity' is even more urgent, yet still smooth, with glistening chords smeared over the intense drums, as more frosty lines weave in and out. 'Paradigm Shift' is a stripped-back, machine-made techno funk that's simply irresistible for late-night hypnosis. Finally, 'Hybridisation' increases the dub factor once more, with a sound that feels bottomless. This EP is a must-have for fans of the dub techno genre.

Review: It must be challenging for a long-running label to come up with fresh ideas, but that is exactly what Planet Rhythm has achieved on its latest compilation. TWCOR's "How It Ends" revisits the glory days of Frankfurt Trax techno with its pounding kicks, Vinicius Honorio maps out a new direction for big room techno on the thundering filters and wild rave stabs of "Time & Space" and Two Sided Agency's "Controlled Cycle" is a synapse-melting acid track. There is also a more considered side to Planet Rhythm, and it's audible here on Tom Hades' "Felis", where the veteran producer pairs emotive synths with a rolling tribal groove.

Review: While there is no information about the artist, the title of the latest release on Planet Rhythm leaves little room for ambiguity about the type of music on offer. "Controlled Cycle" is a wild acid track that sees the mysterious producer tease out synapse-splitting 303 lines; "Mental System", which follows in its wake, is even more intense thanks to the addition of Robert Armani-style kicks. The intensity levels drop off again on "Infinite Seriality", although the use of the kind of chattering percussion that was a staple on Plus 8 records steers the track towards the dance floor. Upping the intensity levels again, "Unconscious Discourse" veers back towards the ghetto side of techno thanks to its concrete weight drums.
