Review: There is a grey area between ambience and dub techno and it's one that Aguilar exploits skilfully. Many of the tracks here focus on hissing, drizzling ambience, with Mind Over Midi's "Reflekt" and the gentle chords of HB003's "More of This" being the best examples. Elsewhere, Stereopathy's "Sky is the Limit" and Aura Freh's "Vital Sunshine" focus on the introspective end of dub techno. Liquid Level's "Gravity Drive" ups the tempo and Gaj's "Light Year" strips the groove back. However, the most memorable cut is Layer Hack's "Last Train"; playful disco samples and detuned riffs complement its deep chords and the end result sounds like Losoul in playful form.
