Review: Unwilling to comply to the strict regime of classical music, Varaz embraced new found freedom through Jazz at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. After graduating and some aliases later, his mind spawned this project. Like a skilful painter, Varaz mesmerizes with an exquisite palette of colours and stretches/bends his music, allowing it to speak and explore. Microhouse meets hip-hop production techniques on "Becoming", lush textures and smooth grooves on the title track could well be the future of deep house, while the hypnotic dancefloor drama of "Benult "takes the sounds of Life & Death or Plangent to even more evocative levels. Finding ground in Ghent, a small yet creative and lively town in Belgium, Moodfamily runs a record label and booking agency. Having emerged in 2014, it has sprouted from existing friendships and a mutual understanding and appreciation of electronic music.
