Review: Overseen by house legend John Digweed, this collection of ten fresh new Bedrock tracks sees the label gearing up for Miami's Winter Music Conference in style. Names like Stelios Vassiloudis (following up his debut album for Bedrock from last year) as well as Dean Demanuele, Wehbba, Guy J and Dosem drop a sparkling set of progressive tech jams, with Guy J's "Nightstalker" and Robert Babicz's frozen "Echo From The Past" just a couple of our early favourites.

Review: As a response to the deluge of high-quality demos it receives, Lower East has put together Inner Circles. Lee Brinx's "She's Pretty" is a sexually-charged, somewhat sleazy jacking affair - its narrative describes in depth why a particular woman is so attractive - while Gav Memnos and Dexter Kane's "Dirty Cash" is a more stripped back jacker, and Cozzy D and Dodha's "White Lightning" is based on lithe percussion and heavy drums. Best of all though is Alexis Raphael's "Skalamoosh". Featuring the pitter-patter shuffle of garage drums, a jittery vocal sample and a slinky, 90s prog house bassline, it shows that modern deep house can be evocative and soulful in equal measures.

Review: More than any other dance label, Damian Lazarus's Crosstown Rebels has a knack of signing timeless house music. It's evident on this, the second Rebel Rave instalment, with Guti & Dubshape's "Every Cow Has a Bird" offering a classic sound, as a disco groove unfolds to reveal rolling bongos and jazzy piano keys, or on Subb-an's "Misleading", a glorious deep house arrangement with a garage groove. However, there are also some excellent reinventions of the house style; Jamie Jones's "Summertime" reveals a darker side to deep house as a menacing bass surges to the fore; Quenum's "Woman Talk About Woman" features a crazy vocal freestyle over a jazzy groove and best of all, Art Department's "Without You" sounds like a dislocated, paranoid update on Nu Groove's bassy tracks.

Review: One of Damian Lazarus's main strengths as a DJ is that he understands the art of being a curator. It probably has a lot to do with his role as A&R for City Rockers and now his own label, but Lazarus is an expert at sourcing music that others may have overlooked and blending it with other gems. It explains why the fourth Get Lost is not full of big tunes on hyped labels, but instead contains the spacey house of Nitin's "Blink Twice", the 808 electro drums of Nico Purman's "Fade Away" and the seductive orchestral woodwind of Mario & Vidis Lazarus's "Kashyyyk" - an anthem in the parallel world where Lazarus reigns .

Review: Lovely little compilation here from Noir Music, with the pleasingly titled Second Chances & New Romances. Opening with the distant, plaintive vocals and horizontal bumpin' groove of "I Found You" by Tiger Stripes, the six track selection serves as a wonderful sampler for the imprint's established signature sound. The sultry, understated emotion of Eivissa's edit of Larse's "The More I Want" is probably the highlight, but it's a tough call because everything on here is so damn playable.

Review: It's hard to believe that Sven Vath's empire has been in existence for 11 years, but what's easier to comprehend is the label's unerring knack of releasing killer club techno. This compilation gives some of Vath's favourite artists - like Roman Flugel and Steve Rachmad - as well as newbies like Patrick Kunkel, who also provides a DJ mix, a chance to rework the catalogue. From Visionquest's murky but driving take on Dinky's "Acid in My Fridge" through the abrasive, jacking Flugel remix of Martin Buttrich's "Hunter", Carlo Lio's tribal take on Dubfire vs Huntemann's "Diablo" and the fist-pumping, big room techno of Paul Ritch's interpretation of 2000 & One's "Tropical Melons", there can be no doubt about this compilation's dance floor credentials.

Review: The third volume in this series is a reminder of how broad the tech-house sound can be. At one end, there's Martin Landsky's stripped back and tripped out take on John Tejada's biggest tune, "Sweat On The Walls", while at the other end, there's the glorious soulful, acid-sprayed re-rub of Vincenzo's "The Clearing" by Ian Pooley. Landsky keeps the mood menacing with "2000 Miles", as does MANIK with the prowling bassline of "Pure Liquid". Thankfully, there are enough musical moments, from Phonique, David Durango and Mathias Mayeer- whose "Insomnia" climaxes to wave upon wave of deep chords - to provide the necessary counterbalance.

Review: Like the first volume, the second instalment of Great Carnival is loosely based around the concept of integrating South American sounds and influences into modern electronic music. On Tube & Berger's "Prohibition" and Hernandez's "Confetti" this idea manifests itself through the inclusion of celebratory horns, Mowgli's "Abacaxi" shows its love for Latin samples through the same vocal layered on top of itself until it creates an irresistible cacophony, and the rippling bass of Jean Claude Ades' "Latin Fever" drops unexpectedly into a celebratory piano riff. Not everyone gets in the carnival spirit however, and Andhim's "Holz Ist" and Rainer Weichhold's "One Willi For The Road" reference disco-tinged tribal and MANDY-style neo-trance melodies.
