Review: Act of Sedition's popular 'Perfect Pitch' compilation series returns for a third innings, this time offering up "loose grooves for lazy days". In practice, that means re-edits and light-touch reworks of laidback soul, disco and boogie gems, some with subtle new instrumental touches. There's plenty to set the pulse racing throughout, from the locked-in, delay-laden dub disco chug of 'Olhidos Coloridos' by Ben Jamin, and the breezy, morning-fresh AOR soul of Bully Boy's 'Baltimore (Refix)', to the languid but floor-friendly rework of a stone cold classic that is Mikeandtess's 'Preacher', and the carnival-ready summer samba shuffle of 'Bossa Soul (Timmy 7's Edit)' by Sucka Productions. Throw in slightly more up-tempo contributions from heavyweights DJ Steef, Lego Edit and Frank Argrario, and you have another must-check set of reworks.

Too Slow To Disco Edits 08: Vibes4YourSoul - Tudo Azul EP
Brilhante, e - (4:06) 95 BPM
Pra Voce - (5:22) 102 BPM
Confusao - (4:28) 84 BPM
Joia Da Bahia - (4:07) 107 BPM Hot
Review: With the DJ Supermarkt-helmed 'Too Slow To Disco' series now up to Vol 439 (or something), you should be familiar with the concept by now. This, though, is one of their occasional series of re-edit EPs rather than a compilation album, and finds French DJ/producer Vibes4YourSoul delving deep into Brazilian music - about which this writer knows very little, so we'll have to forego the whole "ID-ing sources" routine for this one! Still, if laidback grooves built for poolside chillin' are your thing you'll find same here in abundance, while if you're looking for something a little more floor-friendly then 'Joia Da Bahia' is your best bet.

All'arabbiata EP
Dihya - (4:19) 112 BPM
Vamos A Gozar - (4:52) 100 BPM
My Name Is Samba - (4:47) 102 BPM Hot
Tentami - (5:00) 116 BPM
Dihya (Fingerman re-edit) - (6:03) 112 BPM
Review: French DJ/producer Vibes4YourSoul comes to Hot Digits Music with a five-track disco EP in which he looks to world music for inspiration. The derivation of these tracks - whether they're re-edits or original productions - is uncertain, but dancefloors that favour the leftfield, exotic and esoteric will find much to enjoy here. 'Dihya' sounds vaguely Middle Eastern to these inexpert ears, 'Vamos A Gozar' draws on Mexican/Central American influences and 'My Name Is Samba' has an Afro-Brazilian flava, while 'Tentami' conjures images of 70s package holidays to Spain. A subtly beefed-up Fingerman remix of 'Dihya' completes an interesting package.

Review: Act of Sedition's latest expansive collection of re-edits and reworks, Perfect Pitch, is subtitled 'loose grooves for lazy days' and that's an apt description of the pleasingly warming, afternoon-ready soul, yacht rock and disco revisions on show. The vibe is mostly head-nodding rather than arms aloft, but that's no bad thing. You'll find plenty of playable fare amongst the 13 tracks on show, with our picks including the slow-motion disco-funk of Vibes4YourSoul's 'Dance All Night', Pete Le Freq's tasteful rework of Stevie Wonder classic 'Living For The City', the sun-drenched, loop-powered soul shuffle of Frankee More's 'It's Walter' and the percussion-laden South American disco-reggae madness of 'Rita' by Ferdinand DeBeaufort.

Review: Having recently notched up a sixth year in business, Fingerman's Hot Digits imprint is in a celebratory mood - hence this all-action round-up of recent delights and unheard treats from the disco-loving label. Encompassing no less than 30 tunes, the collection giddily skips between warming beatdown disco (P-Sol's "Walter"), Mark E style slo-mo loop jams (Vigi's "I'll Be There") and glassy-eyed Balearic nu-disco (Picklejam's "Untitled Love"), before raising its hands skywards as the peak-time party-starters begin to appear thick and fast. Highights in this category include the vibrant jazz-house flex of Dexter Jones' "Swing Thing", the bustling boogie re-edit business of Monsieur Von Pratt's "Let's Dance" and the hearty disco-funk heaviness of Chewy Rubs' "Funky Bee Bop".

All The Way (Tonight's Ze Night rework) - (5:17) 110 BPM
I'm In Luv (No Doubt rework) - (4:49) 95 BPM Hot
Coney Island (Glory Of Love rework) - (6:51) 83 BPM
Review: First released as a double seven-inch single earlier in the year, the fifth volume in the Too Slow To Disco Edits series offers up a quartet of reworks from French slo-mo house and disco specialist Vibes4YourSoul. The Gallic scalpel fiend hits the ground running with "Mais Loucos (Bozo Rework)", a wonderfully sunny, horn-laden tweak of a sumptuous samba-disco number, before upping the tempo significantly on the bongo-laden dewy-eyed AOR disco sexiness of "All The Way (Tonight's Ze Night Rework)". "I'm In Luv (No Doubt Rework)" brilliantly re-imagines Evelyn "Champagne" King classic as a slow-motion reggae-boogie treat (seriously, it's superb), while "Coney Island (Glory of Love Rework)" is a hazy, sun-kissed yacht rock treat.
