Review: Vital returns to the scene of the OnlyDrums crime for the first time since the label's launch release in January '22 and there's a lot to celebrate here. Flavours for everyone; 'Miracles' goes all-in with the stinkiest basslines the label has ever released, 'Wind Up' is a big one for those cheeky switch ups and springy funk blasts, while 'Bullet To The Head' is a trippy, leftfield take on minimal steppery and 'Hopeless' swaggers with kicks so wide you'll think your ears have expanded and there's something wrong your intestines. We believe in 'Miracles'.

Review: Destination NYC: Liondub International look back over their last year of releases with this almighty 25 track collection of highlights. As always with Liondub's broad and highly international church, the vibes go the full flex from classic dancehall jungle to epic jump-up tear-ups. Highlights include Bladerunner's savage Amen assault 'Jungle Strike', the big vocal licks and even big bassline snorts of JNGL's remix 'Worldwide' and Original Sin's absolutely despicable twist on the Riko Dan-front 'War Ting'. And that's just the tip of this junglistic iceberg. Don't sleep on this one!

Review: DJ Hybrid's Audio Addict look back over another diverse and exciting year with this excellent 'Reloaded' VA that cherry picks 25 of the many highs throughout 2022. All flavours, all styles, all energies, expect the full spectrum here from Ozone's alien squelching 'OG' to menacing, minimal finger clickers like Jam Thieves' 'Outbreak' to dreamier, emotional switch flippers like Klimate's 'Through My Eyes'. Riddled with pristine bangers from the likes of Vital, Prestige, Posk, Joely, Exile and many more, this is a great snapshot of a very successful year for DJ Hybrid's label.

Review: It's been a minute since Bar:Rage barraged us with bangers but along comes Vital with a whole stock of naughty flavours. 'Badman' by name, bad man by nature; the title track hits hard with a rasping bass riff that flutters up and down the spectrum with mischief. Plenty more darkness follows: 'Blazin' keeps us zooted and booted with bubbling subs and a killer hoover tone, 'Bass' is pure gully pressure while 'Revolution 909' glides with sleek sci-fi futurism. Bad to the bone.

Review: 50 tracks!! Count them - FIFTY tracks - right here from the Sub-liminal Recordings crew as the label looks back over the last few years of massive bangers. Pure gully science from across the board, if you've missed out on any of their releases or you've only just tuned into the sounds of Agro's longstanding label then this is the place. Highlights come in all shapes and sizes but only a madman would miss out ridiculous heavyweight cuts likes Shayper's 'Burnt Gerbil', Prestige's wonked out weirdo funk-up 'Computer Killer', Xav's old school charmer 'Crisp Packet'. These are just three crucial examples. Dig deep!
Review: We don't know much about history. Don't know much about biology either, to be fair. But, thanks to Vital and Gyro bossman Audiomission here, we know a lot more about Chemistry. 'Composure' reveals the elements with a great sense of fusion with soul and the grit that Gyro has become synonymous with. Elsewhere we get serious reactions from 'Chemistry' and its spiralling bassline and sassy vocal sample, we raise our Bunsen burners to the booming drama of 'Blood Sweat & Tears' and get our fission freak on to the classic stampede style of the finale 'Combination'. Chemistry... Music to bond over.
Review: It's been a busy old month for man like Vital as he's appeared on Invicta, Murky, Drum Lab, Lickwood & Gunshot and NWS Digital in the last two months alone... Now he crashes down into the Dutty Bass HQ with three total steamrollers. 'The Chosen One' says it all - a Benny L style slap-about with an array of bass textures to chow down on. It's backed by more fire flavours; 'Killa' is a grizzler that shoots first and asks questions later while 'Time Lapse' plucks the harp strings to lure you in before hitting you hard with alien bassline spasms and cosmic flurries. Choo choo choose this!
Review: Close your eyes and count to 10... Vital arrives on Murky Digital and he's packing a wide range of bumps and bruises. 'Hide & Seek' starts the slew of sludgy, far-out sonics with its droning bass and tasty vocal samples. It's backed up a whole tonne of vibes: 'Progression Lessons' bubbles with a subtle, stripped-down finish that gives the bassline stacks of space to stroll up and down the spectrum, 'Cross The Line' is more of a creepy stepper while 'Scared' lives up to its name with its wonky off-key bass grizzles. Last but not least comes 'Desert Storm' which can melt a dancefloor into submission quicker than you can say 'Storming Norman'. Seek and support!

Review: Grubs up gang! Vital returns with this delicious four-courser on Lickwood & Gunshot. 'Moody Foody' commences the banquet with its saucy bassline swing and high fibre breakbeats. More dishes follow... 'Timebomb' is pure ruffage with its root veg bassline smashing and bashing to the point of boiling while 'Outlined' cleanses the palette with its citrus guitars and acid puddles of bass. 'The Get Back' plays the role of the consummate dessert; sweet, nostalgic and baked to perfect. Bon appetite.

Review: Hands up who likes crime! Hands up who likes mindfulness! Hands up who likes filthy bangers from man like Vital! We got great news for all you crews (especially those who put their hands up for all three categories)... Vital is back with this ridiculous four-piece on Liondub International and it's intoxicating business from the off. 'Rage'N' hits with an addictive Q&A bassline riff that's so much fun to mix, 'Shaolin' cuts through the mix with real menace and string plucking tension before breaking into a vibrant bassline/synth groove while 'Raw Grooves' gets out the chainsaw and chops down a whole forest with its bassline just for the hell of it. 'Take Me Home', meanwhile, finishes the EP with a classic switcheroo. Hands up who likes good-times, early 2010s jump-up!

Review: Agro's Sub-liminal machine keeps ploughing us into tomorrow with raffish, unruly fusions from some of the most exciting producers in the bass game. Reading like who's who in tomorrow's talent, highlights hang off every corner like a poorly fitted suit... Vital's 'The Streets' is pure machine gun menace, Kre's 'Peaky Blinders' is all slices and dices with its maximal wall of sound and cool glitchy freak-outs while Woolf's remix of Yatuza's 'Don't Be Absurd' ends this forward-thinking VA with a subversive super deep twist. Hard hitting.

Review: Time to ditch that OnlyFans subscription and sign up to OnlyDrums. Same principal - hot stuff sent direct to your senses, just a hell of a lot more fulfilling and vibey. Vital takes the honour of the label's first full paid release and it's nothing short of a four-track fire up. Each cut tickles a different corner of the dancefloor. Highlights include the crisp, duck-like quacks on the bassline of 'Fire', the tension and release on the Bristol-sounding 'Live & Direct' and the classic jungle elements on the title track 'System Check'. Review: Portsmouth-based label Murky Digital returns with another collection of moody, dark, rolling and steppy drum & bass and jungle, curated by label chief founder Elsta. Highlights include: DJ Direkt's subterranean roller "Claret", Yatuza getting mental on the neurofunk trip of "Seeing Things", the ever reliable Conrad Subs steppin' out into the darkside on "Sketchy", while more expansive UK flava comes in the form of Guzi & Agro's grime crossover "The Dirty South" (Guzi remix) and with names like Malicious & Bass Antics you'd surely be in good hands right? Their offering "Talk & Chat" ticks all the boxes.

Review: Reload! Bagged & Tagged look back over the last few years of releases and handpick their most popular for this hot new series - 'Re-Tagged Stock'. First up are some of the most popular and heavily demanded tracks the UK label has ever known including the dynamic vocal drama of 'Pretend' with Bunnerz & Jappa, the insane melting bass tones of 'Rolls' from Zeba, Nu Elementz savage take on The Force's classic trad jump up bubbler 'Born Evil', Vital's bubbly hip-swinger 'Real Shit' and a gruff finale from Total Recall in the form of 'Bubbles'. Review: Following up great releases on Eternal Muzic and Drum Lab Audio, Bournemouth's Daniel Peters aka Vital returns this week with another typically fierce drum n bass offering on Audio Addict. He gets properly subterranean on the brooding neurofunk vibe of "Superbad" and "Read Me" respectively, before serving up some more darkside steppas aimed squarely at underground heads in the form of "50 Shot Clip" and "Outlined" - the latter nailing that classic V Recordings sound.
Review: Fresh off of their fifth birthday celebrations, the UK's Bulletproof Records have a wicked schedule of releases lined up in the coming months, including this new one by Daniel Peters aka Vital, who returns with his third release on the label. The Bournemouth-based producer is on fire on the Golden City EP, which features six furious cuts such as the subterranean neurofunk of "Smokers" and the seething atmospherics of "Lost Love", in addition to steppers such as "Blown Cover" (VIP) with its jump-up vibe and the nasty roller "Pest" which closes it out.
Review: It is a big week for Bournemouth-based DJ/producer Daniel Peters aka Vital, who in addition to a wicked EP for Bulletproof Records also surfaces on the ever reliable Eternal Muzic with this killer six track EP. Ram Jam features some serious jump-up throwdowns such as "Against Us" and "Catastrophic" which are sure to get the lighters in the air, while the smooth liquid drum and bass vibe soon leads to business as usual on the energetic "Non Stop" and ending with one more expression in rolling drama on "Opportunity".

Review: Crack open the fritters, Vital's got 'The Jitters'... And he's passing them round like fistbumps at a rave. The title track will have you shaking the moment that creepy arpeggio and haunted vocal sway into the mix, 'Exceptions' will give you the jiggles thanks to its roughhouse turbine bassline and sirens, 'My Soul' will have you quivering all over with its obnoxious bassline barks and gully fills while 'Flight Leader' will leave you leave pulsating in the corner with its mischievous early Hazard-style snub-nosed bassline riff. Expected everything ranging from Benny's own bubblers to more dancefloor styles such as Blaine Stranger's 'Dragon' and Octo-Pi's 'This Sound' via rugged jump-up uppercuts such as Lockerz 'The Funk', crucial jungle licks like Exposure's remix of DeJay's 'St Paul's Jammin' and pure futurism like Filip Motovunski's 'Ninja'. Review: If you couldn't tell from the previous two editions on Liondub International, perhaps 'Criminal Minds Volume 3' will finally make you realise that Vital is above the law. With beats as brazen as these, he's got more diplomatic immunity than everyone ever involved in the Lethal Weapon franchise put together, and still he continues; the ringtone neck-wringing of 'Compulsion To Kill', the swaggering grunts and classic sample of 'Positive Vibes', the tension and paranoia of 'Good To Me' and ruffneck drama of 'Unorthadox' are all so badass they instantly come with a get out of jail free card. Naughty naughty.
