Hench continue to celebrate dubstep's most visceral, jagged pastures with this killer couplet of bruising bashers. Bristol's Eddie K plays the lead role: going solo on "Immortal", it's all about the hooky riff and underlying messages of concentrated nastiness. "Oscillations", meanwhile, takes us back to Dub Police circa 2010; warped, paranoid and gnarlier than a witch's knuckles, it's an instant hunch-back riddim with deadly connotations.
You can always rely on Jakes' Hench imprint when it comes to the gutter-groove dubstep vibes. And latest signing Vodex is certainly no exception. "Galvanize" will indeed live to up its name with its screams and hisses. "Lemon Fuse" is a more weepy bass moan but loaded with the same amount of trippy, dark pensive attitude. "Satan's Dance" takes the outrageous levels to near-absurdity with its scary multi-personality bassline. "Witch Doctor" completes the set with similar levels of dank, paranoid trippiness. Utter filth, the lot of it... You can always rely on Hench, full stop.
