Review: As always with Dread Or Dead, we have a serious box of treats to tuck into as they welcome the explosive sounds of Volume A on-board, delivering a rapturous pack of originals to begin, backed by two unique remix additions to match. The opener takes the title 'Guell', a seriously gnarly slink through reesey bass textures and dungeon-like drum patterns, giving us a drippy feel from the jump, before 'Growth' gives us a further dose of skippy rhythmic flavour with a slightly more stripped back soundscape. Next, 'Issue Tracker' closes off the solo originals with a sub-heavy warbling feel, before IOWLA steps up with a spice-infused, jangling rethink of 'Guell'. Finally brings his bubbly subs to the table with a raucous rework of 'Growth', closing off the EP with a smokey sensation.

Review: Once again the magicians behind the Dread Or Dead imprint have been able to deliver an absolutely nuclear collection here as they invite eight of their rosters finest inside to explore the weightiest ends of the dubstep spectrum. First up, Toki lets loose a barrage of sub-busting bass activities on the moody marches of 'Zimmy', before 'Stage Four' from Cel rises to the top of the tree with a glitchy glide through more hard-ended low end production. We then take in Kusmo with the system-shaking syncopation of 'Kraft Dinner', giving us a completely different direction to explore, closely followed by both Volume A, with the haunted atmospherics of 'By The Order' and Blazid with a chunky sub-buster in 'Morbid'. Finally, two additional danger zone inducers as TLL firstly steps forward with the unpredictable rhythms and quirky chimes of 'Amygdala Complex', with Myca$h's 'Against The Law' providing the final weighty bullet for this killer arsenal of a collection.

Review: With the re-emergence of dubstep's wide-spread popularity, labels such as Foto Sounds are starting to really capitalize with a selection of top quality releases, including this next drop from Volume A. Kicking off with the grizzly LFO pressures and spacey drum processing of 'Dranks', we can tell we are immediately in for a bit of a treat, followed by the wibbling synth pulses of the title track 'Manipulate Dem', which gives us a horror-influenced backdrop of chain-like percussion and demonic harmony. Next, 'Fit Fort' ties together distant percussive skips with a lethal sub-line for a system-busting weapon, before 'Solid State' draws attention to itself through some higher-pitched synth work for good measure. Finally, 'Jenkins' gives us a warbling behemoth of a finale, focussing on another killer bassline lead, this gives us the perfect amount of juice for a killer finale.

Review: The levels have been set very high in recent months by the Macabre Unit team, who continue to provide the 140 scene with the highest quality dubstep originals on a regular basis. Lampa and Volume A are the latest to join the roster, giving us four spicy originals ot play with, kicking off with the raucous reese slaps and tidy percussive influxes of the title track 'Talkback'. Lampa is then joined by the magnificent Monika Emat, who provides some sumptuous vocal work over the haunting sounds of 'What's Mine', before 'Today' sees Volume A return on collaboration duty for a super spooky soundscape. Finally, Volume A takes up solo duty on 'Sound Effect', a more stripped back yet intense dubstep design, putting the finishing touches on a great selection!

Review: We are extremely excited to get into this one as Volume A & Section 8 team up for a dubstep-inspired party, kicking off with eastern melodies and gnarly, growling synthesizer work of Volume A's 'Stuck Inside'. This is followed by the spacey tones and expansive atmospheric layers of Section 8's aptly named 'Hubble', before the pair join forces on 'Psychosis', another grizzly roller. Finally, the pair work together again on 'Scared', which through it's unique drum designs and engulfing sub expansions, puts the cherry on the cake for this EP with Dirty Beats Music.

Electric 88/Into Reality
Electric 88 - (5:12) 140 BPM
Volume A - "Into Reality" - (3:54) 140 BPM Hot
Review: Dank N Dirty make a wicked return to the fray here as they bring together the services of BNML and Volume A for a scorching two track creation, one we couldn't wait to get stuck into. We begin with the dubwise textures of 'Electric 88' which takes moogy bass tones and layers them amongst ominous horn structures and airy chord progressions, creating a real sense of dread. On the flip we are given 'Into Reality', a real trip into the dungeon as course layers on growling reese bass textures lead the way alongside mellow sub movements and dubbed out background percussion. Overall, an awesome combination of futuristic dubstep stylings and a classic dubwise use of space.
