Review: Following on from last week's bumper release, CruCast continue their high intensity start to 2020 with another New Blood compilation, showcasing the freshest new talent within the ever expanding bass scene. They have amassed quite the collection as they welcome the likes of Sisko, Cooky, Event Horizon, Tension and Digital Koala just to name a few. For us, this project holds a couple of immediate stand out projects however, with Namena's 'Jack In The Box' providing us with a sack of rawcus dancefloor energy within its shimmering synthesizer slaps, alongside the chomping drum smacks and unpredictable synthesizer explosions of Wheeto's 'Skull Punch'. Excellent work!

Review: As a label, Crucast have gone from strength to strength, rapidly establishing themselves as one of the premiere platforms for bass music in the UK. This complication marks that out perfectly with an astonishing selection of over 30 original creations, featuring high profile appearances from the likes of Jaguar Skills, Brent Kilner, Pavv, TC4, Inkline, Deadbeat UK and a tonne more. For us the EP highlights the strength in the current UK bass scene, with favourites being Bushbaby & Hadean's long-awaited collaboration release 'Clean Up', the monstrous swinging synths of Tengu's 'Weapon' and of course the wonky wonderings of SaidWho's 'Voices', a truly original compositional idea, focussing on rawcus bass sounds and scattered drum selections.

Review: Despite being almost overwhelmed with the popularity of their most recent 'War Dubs' competition, Lengoland are still out here providing the scene with some incredibly hard hitting releases. Their latest offering sees two label favourites in Wheeto and NLMT join forces once again for an incredibly vibrant bassline original, with a bridge focussing in on pleasing vocal chops and a breakdown sure to knock the socks off anyone in the dance. It's a collaboration that we can see yielding a shipload more bangers as we move forward into 2020.

Review: Wheeto has been on a serious roll since he was first unveiled as one of the leading talents being pushed by the Lengoland movement, picking up another top quality EP feature with the project here entitled 'After Hours'. The title track is a super skippy example of exactly what Wheeto is capable of, smashing together emotive vocal lines with explosive bass synthesizers with fantastic results. Following this, Thorpey joins the party with an exciting niche-style collaboration on 'No More Tears' before we get into the scatty drum work and gnarly bass sounds of 'Rockin'. We finish up with the eastern inspired melodies, growling sub rolls and punchy drum indents of 'Aphrodite', putting the finishing touches on a class selection.
