Review: The Iron Shirt Recordings team have a fantastic ability to unearth and present gems in the best way possible, with this new drop from With Bear being a perfect example of an album doing just that. Featuring 16 tracks, the project explores the deepest and darkest realms of the dubstep spectrum, across both fierce originals and writhing remixes. Original wise, there are some truly awesome designs to be found, from the swampy synth lines of 'Coyote Stories' to synthetic melody fusions of 'To Walk In Beauty' and 'Every Lifeform'. As well as this, the project is blessed with a number of vibrant reworks, with our highlights included Internal Frequency's sizzling overhaul of 'Western Culture', next to Leon Switch's chilling overhaul of 'Grounded'. Top stuff!

Review: As a fantastic way to close out the year, we see the Future Follower's team linking up for an end of year disco, welcoming 20 tracks onto the label via their brand new 'Decade' compilation series. Through a vibrant combination of genres and styles, we see the likes of Digital Pilgrimz, RDubz, Sirmo, Shiva, Sketia and more all getting involved, sweeping from raucous dubstep designs to more dancefloor driven bassline bangers. It's a very vibrant collection and is a fantastic way for the label to celebrate a decade of activity, with our favourite features including the electrifying synthesiser work of Reigamortis' 'Hondo', next to the creepy soundscapes and blippy delays of 'Abyss Stare' from Kyoshe', with the unique, funk infused layouts of MAW's 'Jazztalk' also turning a few heads. Exceptional stuff!

Review: If there is one thing that we could never criticise about the Iron Shirt Recordings team, it's their consistency, with a bulging catalogue of original bassy slammers, they always seem to hit the nail on the head. This latest compilation plays testament to that as they unleash the fifth edition of their 'ISR' series, welcoming back a host of dubstep heavyweights, including L Nix, Roklem & Sebalo, Jaswan and more. The whole feel of the project revolves around system-ready rollers, welcoming a host of exciting newer names to the table at the same time, all of whom deliver the goods. For us, there are a few real highlights, with the clunky, clock-like drum ticks and lethal bass crunches of Basura & Dalek One's 'Pure Destruction', next to the eastern melodic flicks and grizzly synthesiser pulses of 'Ruffhouse' from JWire and the intense drum triplets of Split's 'Midnight Hour'. Another seriously beefy body of work!

Review: We have come to expect a high degree of quality whenever a new Macabre Unit Digital drop happens to land in the store. We most certainly haven't been disappointed here as with BEAR joins the party for a four track womper. We begin with the swampy woodwind and squelching bass tones of 'Christian Devils', a proper raucous rattler, perfect for kick-starting the EP into action. From here, the shimmering percussive pressure and gnarly bass expanses of 'Before Humans' switches the feel of the EP, before the more spacious designs of 'The Creator' give us a look into the more delicate side of with BEAR's production arsenal. On remix duty Ammon-Ra gives 'Christian Devils' a dramatic overhaul, deploying a lethal synthesizer line atop some incredibly punchy drumwork to see us out in style.
