Undiluted rainbow rave, "Boss Wave" is a stunning sonic showcase from Xilent that's so cheek-slappingly fine it doesn't need any other release mates to back it up. A homage to the end-of-level baddies on old tape-loading computing games - if you can remember them - it's got all the 8-bit drama but with all the 21st century production decadence. With a nagging, infectious hook and every sonic trill and thrill you can imagine (even an amazing video), this is Xilent's best record to date.
Keeping things super fresh here on Shimon's Audio Porn, with one of the hottest young names in the UK Bass scene which is well and truly blowing up of late. For those who don't know, think of Xilent as a young UK Skrillex. You may question why this is tagged as progressive then, but check out the trancey break and second half of the track which rocks with a chunky prog flow. This would be a monster set opening, and/or a destructive turning point in any set... Watch the screw faces in the crowd!
