Spaceman EP
Yoteii & Bunnerz - "Grotville" - (4:28) 175 BPM
Spaceman (feat Havok MC) - (4:45) 175 BPM
Review: Boom! Bunnerz and Yoteii collide in deep space for this premium debut on Invicta. Two collabs, two solo originals, all kinds of fire, each cut hits a different spot. 'Grotville' takes the lead with its underground vibe. Anyone who's familiar with TFL will instantly smile as the tubes are sampled and used as part of the rises and we're taken to a whole new station none of us knew existed. Elsewhere 'Spaceman' sees them linking with MC Havoc for a white knuckle cosmic crusade, 'Catching Cases' sees Bunnerz letting rip with a grotty, twisted jump-up blend while Yoteii bring the EP to an exulting halt with the super futuristic minimal missive 'Dead Line'. Naughty.

Review: Holy mother of sugar-coated shoplifting, TJ has put together Pick N Mix's biggest ever VA right here! The second edition of his label's All Stars series, here we're treated to 30 reminders why drum & bass is in the safest of hands with the new generation. Highlights are all over the shop and spilling from the shelves... Formula's Serum style less-is-more revs on 'Dragster's Den', Hexa's redeye romp 'White Widow', the sexy snap and swing of Lovell's 'Deja Vu', Yoteii's quirky funk and church-sized harmonics on 'Gameboy', MLH's surreal echoes and torn up harmonics on 'Technique'. The list goes on...

Nostalgia/The Virus
Nostalgia - (4:28) 175 BPM
The Virus - (4:30) 175 BPM Hot
Review: Defying the curse of 2020, Yoteii's been on something of a roll this year with dope bombs on the likes of Cave, Breeze and now Logan D's mighty Low Down Deep. Two tunes, two vibes; 'Nostalgia' is a roller's roller with its mildly euphoric intro flipping into a whole chorus of space-aged gritty bass tones. 'The Virus', meanwhile, marks the weird and pranged-out era with vocal cameos from one of the scariest men on the planet. Stay safe.

The Shadow Monster
No Choice - (4:25) 178 BPM
The Shadow Monster - (4:27) 175 BPM Hot
Review: Fresh from his "Megatron" missives on Cave, Yoteii makes his debut on the rising new-gen outpost Breeze. Four tracks in total, each one of them packing his animated, springy signature. "No Choice" digs the foundations with a rubber ball bass riff that licks out in a classic early 2000s Q&A style. It's swiftly followed by the title track, which more than lives up to its name. Minimal in ingredients, maximum in flavour, you can file this one under 'serious creeper'. Elsewhere "Ratchet Man" plays a cool game of contrasts with a deep, velvet intro and a guttural greasy machine drop while "Creatures" closes business with a rasping, gnarly, gritty stampede. Monstrous.

Megatron
Megatron - (4:53) 175 BPM
The Buzz - (4:26) 175 BPM Hot
Review: Cave is another one of very prolific, very consistent jump up labels who are riding high the wave of fervour spreading through that side of the scene at the moment. For this week's instalment of their mission to madness, they've got Yoteii on board for this riotous four-tracker. 'Megatron' leads you in with hypnotic instrumentation, before laying them out over a subby, rolling drum break, complete with some naughty stabs. 'The Buzz' takes things up a notch in terms of craziness, its squelching, grating bass notes hit all the spots and we're very, very into it. Top EP.

A Decade Of Liondub Vol 3: Future
Various
Vital - "Raw Grooves" - (3:35) 178 BPM
Pharoah - "Fire In The Hole" - (4:48) 174 BPM
Review: Liondub International's 10 year celebrations continue with a sense-shocking body slam into the future of the label and its ever-growing family of talented artists. Hitting hard like the label's ever-on-point Street Series, the rollcall reads like a who's who in gully talent: Dutta, Bou, Jayline, Vital, BlckHry and loads more. Whether you want to be completely twisted and spat back out by a brass section (Pharoah's "Fire In The Hole") you'd prefer to be hoovered by a jet engine then shot up into the stars (Jayline's "1408") or you're more into the idea of being rattled around in a big tin bassline can (Danny The WildChild's "Body Moves") this future shock has every physical experience contemporary (but heavily rooted) drum & bass can offer. And there's even more to come. Big up Liondub!

Review: Cre8 DnB Music is another one of very prolific, very consistent jump up labels who are riding high the wave of fervour spreading through that side of the scene at the moment. For this week's instalment of their mission to madness, they've got Yoteii on board for this riotous four-tracker. 'Temple Run' leads you in with hypnotic, ancient instrumentation, before laying them out over a subby, rolling drum break, complete with some naughty stabs. 'Ducking Hell' takes things up a notch in terms of craziness, its squelching, grating bass notes hit all the spots and we're very, very into it. Top EP.

Infinite Reload/Funky Machine
Infinite Reload - (3:44) 175 BPM Hot
Funky Machine - (4:45) 175 BPM
Review: Yoteii always goes big, anyone who's heard any of his music would be able to tell you that. This EP is, unsurprisingly, no different and if anything, it's some of the best stuff we've heard out of the prodycer. It's pacey, it's rolling, it's full of vibrancy and it's all guaranteed A-list dancefloor ready. The first track kicks things off with energetic subtlety, a simple percussive line beneath an entanglement of reece basses and bouncing stabs, it's infectious and it's damn good. 'Funky Machine' is downright naughty, with grating stabs and fluctuating undercurrents of force all coming together to make a Kings Of The Rollers-worthy little number. Absolutely wicked.

We Cre8 Vol 6
Various
Ironlung & Danger - "Unknown Object" - (3:47) 175 BPM
JTR - "Serious" - (4:28) 175 BPM
Review: Cre8ers gonna Cre8: Blackley rallies up the new-gen troops for another batten hatching riot of riff blazing jump up stampers from allies old and new. Label regulars Ironlung and Danger kick off with "Unknown Object", a high frequency squeezer that wheezes with potent levels of toxicity. What follows is a slew of flabby bassline KO sessions. Highlights include Jack The Ripper's darkside stampage on with "Serious" (a track that certainly lives up to its name) Magenta's funky squelches on "Run It", Zeba's sprightly staccato funk on "Party People" and Yoteii's tightly coiled spring viber "Acid Roller". But the true gem of the set has to be "Freedom" by Fanatics. Horny, funky and loaded with wry humour, file under 'switch flipper'. Yes m8s.

Remixes Vol 3
Yoteii - "Kung Fu" (Nu Elementz remix) - (4:23) 175 BPM
Killill - "Shaolin" (Subsonic remix) - (4:28) 175 BPM Hot
Review: Bulletproof take off the silencer and fire shots straight up your gully hole with these two whipslapping re-rubs. Nu Elementz strap up the black belts and add a twisted alien texture to the swooping riff of Yoteii's original while Subsonic polish up the lasers for a brutal angular stepper that's so brazen it's almost Belgian in its proportions. Savage.
