Review: What a beautiful collection we have here as Zefer and Sam Deeley join forces for a colourful display on Steppers Club, unleashing a wicked collaboration and two individual singles for an additional dash of fun. The pair combine firstly on 'What A Night!', a dripping masterclass in vocal garage production, giving us a sturdy backdrop of colourful pad textures and euphoric singalong leads. On the flip to this, 'Neva' gives us a chunky roller of an original to play with, dipping between floating chord textures and moody bass tones, with the breaks-driven sounds of 'You Got Me' from Sam Deeley then closing off the EP in emphatic style, once again delivering a potent piece of bass-driven action.
Review: Now we have heard rumours of the launch of a Steppers Club label for a hot minute, with their tracks receiving high end premieres all over the shop, which is why we are so excited to finally get our teeth stuck into the full project. It's a masterful selection, kicking off with the super bubbly synthesizer pops and tightened vocal sampling of Sensa's 'Long Day', followed by some exceptional horn and vocal sampling on 'Steppin' from Zefer & T-AY-O. Next, Oppidan lands an absolute bombshell with the vibrant drum arrangements and up-beat melodies of 'Rewind', which leads us nicely into the final two originals, Minista firstly steps up with the moogy bass slaps and hip-shaking horn toots of 'Dopamine', before finishing up on Sam Deeley's nostalgic breakbeat masterclass on '2094', an absolute sizzler to say the least.
