Review: Vocalist, DJ and producer Allysha Joy helms this 14-track compilation from CoOp Presents, which is designed to showcase the cream of the rising bruk beat crop from Down Under. As you'd expect given the sheer number of artists on board there's a fair degree of stylistic variety on offer, but broadly speaking the tracks here range from the drifty and Balearic (see Squidgenini's 'Prophecy'), to what's essentially straight-up soul-jazz (Special Feelings' 'On Heat'), to edgier, steppier dancefloor cuts like the title track and Joy's own Lanu collab 'Rewind', with pointless noodling and self-indulgent 'experimentalism' kept - thankfully - to a minimum.

Review: Jonny Faith recently revealed the influence of the Oz sun on his music with acclaimed LP, Sundial. Now he moves on with two new non-album tracks, "Le Sucre" and "Dapple City". The former sees cascading electronic shimmers, gentle loops and light hip-hop beats merge is a blissful haze. The latter see trip-hoppy vibes resurface on this brief chillout interlude. Some album tracks get remixed too: "Dust Settles" becomes a fuzzed-out headnodder in Roleo's hands, Anormie Delirious turns "Zheng" into spacey DnB and Snare Thief goes further into jungle territory on his frenetic rework of "Neon".

Review: Following the success of his recent LP Sundial (hyped by 6Music and more), Scotsman-in-OZ Jonny Faith, releases a new single from the LP, Neon, backed with both a new track and a remix. The former turntablist has grown musically somewhat over the years and with it's crisp and fizzy soul-hop meanderings, "Neon" is a great example of this development. Album highlight "Firefly" gets reduced into a sparse, killer tropical percussive jam by Clap Clap and newie "Revolve" wraps things up with a chiming, organic melange of rythmic beats and sounds.
