Review: Despite the varying states of difficulty the world seems to find itself in, the growth of bass music across the globe doesn't seem to have slowed down in any way, with Night Bass remaining one of the most talked about imprints in the game. This latest helping from Kendoll is a perfect example of how to stay ahead of the curve, kicking off with 'Fall Back' alongside the legendary AC Slater and rapidly rising Sophiegrophy. This one sets the tone perfectly with it's kuduro-sounding percussive syncopations and catchy vocal inputs, before the unpredictable soundscapes and quirky melodic influxes of 'Wasted Again' takes the EP somewhere completely different. Finally, the ever-ready Dread MC joins the party for some rave-ready vocal additions on the big room stomper named 'Never Sleep', which comes to us dripping in acidic expression and original texture.

Review: The UK's Billy Kenny makes his debut on the always-on-point, Four40! Kenny is a pure garage wizard, with a sound that could seriously rip up the floor. "Call You Back" features one of those basslines which you can leave on loop for hours, allowing it to seduce you into its incessant rhythm, providing a tune for the late-night hours that you can mix in with just about anything. "Work" is similarly funky and loaded with bone-shaking low-end, except this time Mr.Kenny is in an even nastier mood. Fire!

Review: Badman sounds from the likes of Billy Ken and Duo, two UK artists on a steep rise to success and total dancefloor domination. Representing Nu Wave's second outing, the boys come trough with a nutty garage stomper for the small hours. Swamped vocals, shuffling percussion slices and whole load of funk.

Review: Footwork junkie Kesmo is a bit of a badman when it comes to constructing heavy waves of wayward juke music and, as surprising as it may seem, this is only his second release to date and the dude is already on an LP flex! Brainfoot is the best LP of the week in our charts. Yes, that is an old statement, but we wouldn't say it if it weren't absolutely true; from start to finish, this is easily the finest slice of bass that you're likely to find or there. Let's be honest, if you kick off with a tune like "Footure", a breaks-ridden, jungle-curbing anthem for the heads, you can only go up and up. And, that's exactly what happens here. Review: Shall Not Fade's recently launched Basement Tracks series has already established itself as a "must-check" for those who like their dance music bold, forthright and exceedingly weighty. The latest offering naturally ticks these boxes and sees Rotterdam rising star Kessler deliver a sextet of club-ready but pleasingly otherworldly dancefloor explorations. Opener 'Lambert Rise' is a strikingly busy and intricately programmed late-night drum & bass mutation, while 'Moonlight Branches' successfully fuses vintage jungle breaks, 90s IDM chords and the immersive lusciousness of old school ambient techno. Elsewhere, 'Old Wives Tales' is a deep two-step garage treat, 'Only a Fool' adds chopped loon bird noises and lilting violins to a stomping psy-trance groove, and 'Kwaku' is a drowsy deep breaks roller.

Review: Whenever we see the Shall Not Fade banner rippling across the store we know we are going to be in for a good time, especially when that standard is accompanied by the brilliance of an artist like Kessler, who touches down with a bag of spicy originals. We open up with the glittering backdrops and breaksy mastery of 'Endless', which throughout emotive pad textures and sweeping percussion delivers a bombshell of an introduction. From here, the half-time rhythms and sensational synthesis of 'Mare's Nest' unleashes another wave of heat, before the more 2-step inspired drum designs of 'Aspect' take us in a different direction, doused however in just as much euphoric energy. Finally, Optimst arrives to twist 'Endless' into a glitchy drumfest, utilising clicky percussive inputs and jittering synth units to deliver a truly unique outro.

Review: Manchester party turned label - Left, Right, & Centre - drops its second release for 2020 with this Right Place, Wrong Time VA. Taking in some heavy beats, sirens and industrial adage from Craig Walker, find techier rhythms and sci-fi atmospheres in Hypho's urban-centric "We Run The City". Providing this EP with its strongest experimental edge is the gurgling and tripped-out percussive sequences by Everett (tip!) while heavy hitter Kessler drops in with some wub-wub and gun clacks in the supremely bass menacing "Glick Glock".

Review: We find ourselves returning to legendary R&S records for this one as they invite the spectacular combination of both Kettama and Lone inside for a three track thrill ride. We begin with the latin-infused drum work and glitchy synth shivers of 'The Way You Feel', which sets the tone for the project through its overall euphoric nature. Next up, 'Anniversary' arrives from Kettama on solo duty, deploying a vibrant display of percussive pushes and spacey pads, before Lone's 'Dragonrush' original combines lethal electric synth pulses with acidic filtration and high energy drum maneuvers to deliver a certified smash.

Review: Khan Kurra is from Colorado and specialises in intelligent bass music, or as he'd most likely say himself: "bass-heavy, unknown sounds". This new EP named Iron Roses for Lifted Contingency (out of Massachusetts) deals in forward thinking music and if if this is any indication, well blimey! Starting out with the ethereal wall of sound that is "Paeen", he then gives us the rather gloomy and Burial sounding dubstep of "Disciple" and the exotic charm of "Waterhorse" which rolls deep. This follows up a great one on Fluorescent Records a few years back and we sure hope that this marks a return to form for this talented American producer.

Review: Dubstep albums, when done correctly, can be a real thing of infinite beauty, traversing a range of influences and styles to bring life to some truly beautiful ideals. We feel that is exactly what Khromi has done here as the 'Traveller In A Strange World' EP is released, courtesy of Dank N Dirty Dubz. From the airy scattered tones of 'Floating' and 'Mango Juice' to the skippy drum work and wild synthesizers of 'Last Q', this one is all about its variability, taking the form of a living, breathing being. The stunning brass reverberations of 'Circula' and crunchy drum work of 'Hemp' also plays into this, with some stunning remix work being provided by Liquid Memoirs and Demure later down the line.
