Review: Next up, the Night Bass reign continues to pour, dispersing wavy music left right and centre as the founder himself returns home for a fantastic new garage single by the name of 'Final Fantasy'. This one is an instant hit, as Kaleena Zanders gets busy with some incredibly catchy vocal lines over some smooth, silky 4x4 flavours from AC Slater, making for the perfect combo. This single also comes complete with a bag of fantastic remixes, with Jay Robinson turning the original into a bouncy party piece, Steady Rock providing some nostalgic house flavours and Turno bringing forward a wicked drums interpretation, packed with catchy synth leads and lively rhythms!

Review: Straight out of the dubbed out streets of Manchester, we are pleased to welcome Hypho and Amadeo Sanchez's new project 'Manuka' as they unveil their debut four track drop. We kick off with new school dubstep high flyer: Arkwright, with his shimmering roller in 'Course', before dipping into Kelly Dean's dungeon dwelling demon in 'Childs Play', which is packed to the rafters with reesey energy and grizzly subs over skippy 4x4 infused beats. Next, Sensei brings some more original flavour as the gritty bass tones of 'Red Cross' run riot, along with the wobbly moogish bass designs of Zygos on 'Paz', rounding off a fantastic debut release.

Melba's Call
Melba's Call - (4:11) 140 BPM
Played by: MikeQ
Review: The boogie is out in force in the tricky production that Bok Bok brings to his latest effort, as a razor sharp melee of stop-start beats and hurried funk licks dart out underneath Kelela's soulful croon. It's definitely got the neon gloss that all dedicated Night Sluggers will be craving, but there's a nastiness to the crafty way that Bok Bok delivers the track that sets it apart. It's no mean feat to straddle styles like this and make it work, yet the end result sounds smooth even if the track wriggles and writhes with abandon throughout.

I Just Wanna
I Just Wanna - (5:01) 120 BPM
Review: Chrome Sparks is Brooklyn based Jeremy Malvin who presents the first track from his debut album forthcoming on Counter Records. Inspired by a background in classical percussion and an obsession with synthesizers, Malvin creates dazed, melodic beat-centric tunes that loosely hang between down-tempo head nodders and up-tempo club "angers. "I Just Wanna" is an irresistible serving of pop-inflected, bass driven electronica awash in squeaky synths, ethereal pads and immaculate rhythm arrangements.

Review: The latest in Car Crash Set's "No Northwest" series sees Vancouver's Daega Sound share the spotlight with Seattle's Kid Smpl for some deep and moody tech winners, including DS' tech-step menacer "Legion" and his equally crystalline and reverb-soaked half-stepper "Winter's Horse". Kid Smpl gets deeper and trippier on "Timber" and almost nails Sigur Ros' aquatic swoon on the excellent "Over".

Review: In the dubstep halls of fame, there really are few people who can be held to such high acclaim as Kromestar. The London based musical pioneer has put together over a decade of celebrated releases spanning from soulful to downright dirt. This latest LP comes alongside the sounds of Danny Scrilla as the pair explore the expanse of emotive electronic music. The LP moves fluidly from the slower 4x4 sounds of 'Aurora' and the soundscape magnificence of 'Glare' into the more classic dubstep sounds of 'Glacial' and 'Saturns Ring'. Overall this project showcases just how creative and intuitive electronic music can be when the soul is poured into it!

Review: Dr.Cryptic's Chip Butty Recordings is a Sheffield-based label focusing on all underground dance sounds: from garage to UK funky and bass, and it has been on a high since its first EP back in 2011. This time, Dr.Cryptic himself teams up with newcomer Kommon for a four-track bombshell, ranging from two-step to more housey realms. Kommon's "Kariboo" is a shaking, no nonsense jacker whereas "Outfitter" goes deeper into the bass medley. Dr. Cryptic touches down with "You" and "RoboJim", two bouncy and immediately alluring pseudo-garage clusterbombs - Chip Butty in it for the win!

Orphan101 - "Drilla" - (5:02) 129 BPM
Played by: Paul Mac
Review: Pulling together a healthy spread of their roster, Decarhythm ably demonstrate their increasingly focused musical remit on this four-tracker. There's lean techno to be enjoyed from Genotype, where the bassline rules the day and the beat is an exercise in restraint. Kamikaze Space Programme plump for a shufflier approach to 4/4 with "Bhopal", although still plumbing a dark deep-space vibe. Bloodman has a decidedly straight-up tech-house atmosphere at work on "Jones", while Orphan 101 similarly ticks away with a warm sound that peppers the minimal groove with a light dusting of electro. For that sturdy peak-of-the-night tech-edged sound, Deca Rhythm seem to be an increasingly wise destination.

Review: What an interesting selection we find ourselves perusing here as Left, Right & Centre unveil this top quality new four track selection, showcasing some of the most forward thinking sounds in bass music. We begin with unorthodox rhythmic designs, wailing vocal sampling and warbling bass textures of Henzo's 'Duck & Pancakes', before Heritage and Delo provide us with a heads down bass slap, packed with metallic drum goodness. Next, the delicate percussive grooves of Josh Scott's 'Metropol'' are introduced to the selection before finishing off with the techy-inspired drum alignments and pulsating synthesizer drills of 'Drifting Off'. This EP compiles output by six different producers, all of whom have a mastered various forms of bass and house. Highlights include the Green-Velvet-goes-4x4 vibes of Aaron Jackson's killer "Stank", Burkie's totally warped garagey take on Robin S' "Show Me Love" and the stark, precise and sinewy UKG of Nick Hannam's "Shapes".

Review: Within UK underground music, we love to see creativity and forward thinking ideas within people's production, and there are few people better at expressing that sense of originality that than K-Lone. He touches down on Wisdom Teeth here for a fire four track piece, kicking off with the minimal drum infusions and high end pops of the title track 'Sine Language', before we dip into the heavy percussion and natural grooves of 'Batuada'. Following this, the rhythmic masterclass continues as the marshy textures and colourful percussive expressions of 'Missed Calls' take the lead, followed by the blissful woodland atmospherics of 'Bells', rounding off an excellent body of work.

Review: The UK's Wisdom Teeth closes out 2021 with a fresh four-track from K-LONE that takes in variations of Baltimore club, UKG, dubstep and a touch of digi-microhouse to be found in feel-good banger, "Airtight". With soft, sweet and atmospheric steppers helping to build "Softie", "Deluxe" turns towards floating and sustained house chords that counterbalance the vampire dubs of its Bristol-inspired bassline. The title track, though, sees Baltimore club all up in the place with stuttering percussion, looped and detuned vocals alongside atmospheric dispersions of sound that sweetly transition into hisses of noise floor and house music bliss.

Review: Following on from an exceptional string of releases, we see the magnificent K-Lone land on Wisdom Teeth for a top quality LP project, showcasing just how forward thinking his sound is. The whole project is a masterclass in soundscaping and atmospheric processing, with a softened, almost meditative hypnosis running through the heart of the tracklisting. From the chiming melodies of 'Yelli' to the pleasing arpeggio expansions of 'Bluefin', it's just a fabulous listen. Review: It's been a fantastic start to the year for the deeper bass community, with a tonne of heavyweight releases hitting the shelves at quite an alarming rate. This latest offering from Idle Hands, a Bristol based label intent on showcasing the best in new school bass music, comes to us courtesy of K-Lone, who has smashed these two tracks out of the water. We begin with a dip into 'Dance Of The Vampires', a spacey dubwise experiment, pulsing between dubby chord progressions and subtle percussive lines, before the super airy synthesis of 'Sleepwalker' is let loose on the flip. Excellent listening indeed!

Old Fashioned (O$VMV$M remix) - (4:29) 66 BPM Hot
Review: Leeds based K-Lone is back with a great one on DJ Parris' Soundman Chronicles after releases on Wych, Wisdom Teeth and Badimup. The dark ambient intro to "Old Fashioned" is quite the way to build the suspense and tension, until the slow motion beat drops beneath all the dubbed out industrial textures. Next up, the deep dubstep on "In The Dust Of This Planet" takes a turn for the esoteric (and almost beatless) on this fantastically immersive piece. Finally, the O$VMV$M (did we get that right?) remix up next is reminiscent of early Burial: lo-fi/sci-fi dystopian vibes that are perfect mood lighting for that stoned journey home on the nightbus on a Sunday evening. Great stuff here following up some great releases on the label by Rabit, Etch and Wen.

The project is absolutely stacked with collaborative energies for starters, with exciting features including the likes of Kursa, Lone Drum and Osmetic. A revered collection of raw grooves that Apron boss and mutual friend Steven Julien was compelled to share - welcome to Earth State. A collection of deep and mellow urban expressions that blur the lines between, deep house, nu-jazz and neo soul. Smooth broken beat jams such as "Thursday" or "Oceans" feature creamy Rhodes, intricate rhythms and shimmering synths galore, while "Dry Mango pt2" calls to mind the classic vibe of UK broken beat by Bugz In The Attic or Atjazz.

Review: Kabuki might not release beats as prolifically as he used to. But when he does, it's always worth paying attention. Here we find him on key French leftfield jungle imprint Vandal with a range of tempos and perspectives; "Mad" is a sludgy 150 jam with trappist tendencies while "Bounce" is the bites with a rolling ghetto attitude before dropping into the sweetest synths of your dreams. Deeper again we hit the barbed harmonics of Fox on the cosmic beat trip "Change" and conclude with the slimy-walled cave delving dub sojourn "Magic". Four tips, one crucial release.

Review: As one of the most active members of the Young Echo collective, Kahn has already revealed a sizable spread of styles in his output, and this latest emission for Idle Hands flips the script once again. It's an emotive and linear place we find Kahn in on "Margeaux Pt 1", as a bouncy 2-step beat and chirpy bassline get offset by dense layers of heavily treated vocal from Kahn himself, creating a pastoral kind of vibe as the end result. Meanwhile "Margeaux Pt 2" spaces things out with a more jagged beat and a brooding bottom end, while obviously continuing the theme found on Part 1.

Angeles (Superisk remix) - (5:07)
Review: Soul Motive have always been representative of the current strains of Bristol's ever flourishing tapestry of music scenes so it makes perfect sense that the label would call on the Young Echo collective sooner or later. After some notable releases for fellow Bristol hubs Idle Hands and Punch Drunk, Kahn steps forth with another example of his undoubted talent for making music that spans the shades of the bass music spectrum with the rowdy yet soulful 2 step bump of "Angeles." This is Kahn in smooth mode, demonstrating his prowess at weaving vocals so that they form an integral part of the rhythm. Fellow Punch Drunk acolyte Superisk ensures it's an all Bristol affair with a remix that dampens the soulful nature in favour of something altogether darker.

Review: We are absolutely loving what the team at Manuka are putting together far this year, with the label seemingly intent on exploring the swampier side of techno and dubstep. This latest selection Kahter definitely dives down that path as we explore the title track 'Metanoia', a sizzling metallic jamboree, stuffed full of unpredictable percussive lines and vibrant subs below. Next, 'Eostix' gives us a robotic throwback into stuttered synthesizer displays and breathy percussion. On remix duty, head honcho: Hypho steps up to unleash an 808-driven rethink of 'Metanoia', with Pluralist then slapping down some choppy rhythms within his computerized overhaul of 'Eostrix'

This time around, Kahter unloads five fireballs, with the steadily stuttering percussion and subs of 'Kord', alongside the groovy rhythmic swoops of 'Round Cell' kicking us off in style. Next, 'Spicule' ties together syncopated percussive pops and moody sublines for even more darkened goodness, with the electro-sounding drum processing of 'Touch' then following in similar fashion. Finally, Kimber takes 'Kord' and reshapes it into a truly defiant creation, fitting into no genre boundaries yet working on so many levels.

We kick off our journey with 'CBD Control', a clicky combination of industrial sounding synthetics and groovy syncopated drum arrangement, giving us a robotic yet charming introduction. Next, the broken-beat rhythms and glitchy bass notation of 'Contagion' give us another sonic avenue to explore, before the intense drum triplets and distant breathy stabs of 'Impendi' again up the pressure. Finally, the stuttering ascending synthetics and grizzly bass drones of 'Spores' give us a punchy outro to a very well rounded collection. Lovely work!

Kai Luen is a newcomer to the scene, but we're sure that we'll be hearing him soon and often given how masterful his skills on the mixing desk seem to be with these ten stone-cold killers. "The Hollow Ghost" itself contains all the elements of classic grime joints by the likes of Plastician, while others like "LA 92" or strive down headier paths, sometimes landing on hints of hip-hop or Burial-like percussion excursions. The real shit.

Review: The concepts on Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith's ninth studio album Let's Turn It Into Sound have to do with perception, expression and communication. Over three months, the American producer recorded alone in her home studio, pursuing new experiments across her usual toolkit of modular, analogue and vintage synthesizers, in addition to orchestral sounds and vocals. From her contorted takes on pop electronica as heard on tracks like "Have You Felt Lately" or on the deep and off-kilter groove of Is "It Me Or Is It You?" among others, Let's Turn It Into Sound is an impressive display of musical capability throughout.

Review: Benny Kane returns to Apexape with a thunderous three track EP, bringing through some serious heat. He hasn't released much as of yet, but we're all very impressed by his funky take on UK bass house, and "FX" itself is a glorious power-tune, dashing out heavy basslines and shuffled garage breaks. "Keep Your Soul Up" is more contained and hazy but nonetheless filthy on the dancefloor and features the lovely vocals of Eva Lazarus, whereas "Selecta" feels like its skunked-out sibling, pulsating with mutant bass and an almost D&B low-end to its core. Large.

Review: Indian producer now living in London, Kaos signs to Circus and make his debut with this awesome four-track fire blend. We launch with the UKF-supported "Indigo"; a very cool glitch track with a killer 'bottom heavy' vocal sample, big rainbow chords and a cheeky off-beat bass. "Bitchcraft" takes us down the beat-route with emotional post-future-garage vocals and stunning spacious two-steps. "Follow Me" showcases Kaos's trappist inclinations with another expert use of a vocal placed demonically over a minimal 808 pattern. "Come Alive" closes the show with a dubstep/trap/house fusion that's gurgling enough to please the bass heads but sweet enough to satisfy the deep heads. A very accomplished label debut.

Review: Metalheadz's march towards twenty five years continues, as does their revisitation and exploration of back catalogue classics, with a twist. Episode number three takes the furious sounds of Kaotic Chemistry's 'Drum Trip' and 'Jupiter' and reworks them, with production courtesy of Detboi, Madcap, Wheeler and Kaotic Chemistry themselves. Madcap's take on 'Drum Trip' is clean and precise, with a rolling drum break that builds through a gorgeous reece line for an instantly classic sound, one that's tied with the Metalheadz aesthetic both past and present. Detboi makes two contributions, and it's his Low Ends and Amens take on 'Drum Trip' that impresses most, with the rhythmic diversity he's become known for on full display, and Detboi sprints through downtempo breaks, stuttering claps and rusty percussive textures in his quest to create something with moodiness at its core. Finally, Kaotic Chemistry themselves turn 'Jupiter' into a fractious version of its former self, one which perfectly straddles the divide between jungle experimentalism and modern toughness. Seminal.

Review: One half of a London duo also featuring Tee, Karl Vincent has taken the step of exploring further options with this essentially solo offering. That said, he ropes in a host of collaborators to assist him on these five bangers, including Tee who appears alongside Dephex on the beefy 2-step influenced opener "Outer Space". Elsewhere Swedger appears on the chaotic heavy roller "Buzz", Link provides extra drama on the orchestrated 4 x 4 pounder "Escape", Tik & Borrow inject some techy edge on "Cops & Lawyers" and Dephex returns for some dubby UKG on "On The Run".

Review: This joint EP of fresh new roster talent is a pleasingly varied affair in which the In:Flux crew get to flex their creative A&R muscle. The two artists showcased here couldn't be any more different - Karl Vincent & Tee provide two raw cuts of rowdy and snarling garage ("The Tiger", "The Piano) whilst Chute is all about tough, but euphoric raw house ("To The Knuckle", "Hot Mess").

Review: Karmel Jager dropped her EP 'The Moon Became The Sun' last year on her own label Choki Biki, making a serious statement of where she's at and where she's heading as one of Australia's leading lights in breakbeat and techno. Now time for the remixes as an array of respected craftsmen apply their own perspective on her designs. Ireland's Sharpson goes for that smoky, hip-shaking funk, Hedchef cooks up a feast with his techno-inspired take and Bristol legend Borai adds a little D&B glow. Don't delay, pull a moony today.

Review: Commonly found hanging around on Sewer Tapes, Karmelloz is now on 1080p with his lush and varied electronica styles, largely existing in a downtempo headspace but not afraid to embrace a beat in the right situation. "Indian Architecture" is a wondrous ambient piece with its flute stabs and swirling pads, while "Nasa Boyz" comes on like the kind of disheveled house you might find on Workshop. "Squiggles" may boast a sturdy kick but it's a decidedly mellow affair, but it's still far more structured than the floatation tank bliss out of "Stranded From Pod". With a confident embrace of textures and a keen ear for adventurous melodies, you could do far worse than submit yourself to the headphone-ready delights of Source Localization.

Review: The long-awaited solo LP from US-based soulful bass music producer Kastle has been the talk of music blogs around the world for months. Now its finally made it to a full release , there's something of a feeling of satisfaction that can be heard in each track. Whether that's projected by the listener or not might be hard to prove, but there's a definite positive energy that flows through everything Kastle produces. From the garage beats of "Been A While" and "Red Light" to the irresistibly hip house groove of "Insatiable" and trap-hop crush of "Death From Above", it's clear that versatility is what this album is all about. Clean, crisp production matched to soulful, blissed-out dance music that's unashamedly fashionable yet different enough to be taken seriously. An album of 2013 no doubt.

Review: The Symbol Recordings head honcho, Kastle, continues his string of one-off treats with this newie featuring JMSN (aka Christian Berishaj). It's a catchy, low-slung leftfield RnB track boasting smooth Timberlake-esque vocals from the rising singer/producer/fashion designer that's almost guaranteed to increase your chances in getting jiggy with da ladieez (almost).

Review: We've seen quite the evolution of Ilian Tape's sound over the past 18 months with the label expanding and expressing new sounds and remits by welcoming a new fold of artists to include Pessimist, Etch, Walton and Konrad Wehrmeister. The latest to be added to this list is sonic and performance artist, new technologies researcher and gender studies transgressive Katatonic Silentio. Previously lurking in the outsider realms of experimental dance music, the artist arrives on Illian Tape with a lush, heavy and experimental EP full of field recordings, foley sound and out there drum patterns & spaced-out percussion. With some edgier electro, halftime stepping grooves and refined industrial beats coming out of "On The Edge Of Unthought State" and "Midnight Train Breaking Through" - to the beatles yet aggressive sounds of "Shy Fy" - it's "Cartography Of Nowhere" and "Tabula Rasa" that really capture the imagination here. Get to know.

Review: Next up from the MELD team, a vibrant collection of forward thinking remixes are given to us a fiery display of their 2022 intent. We kick off with the industrial drum work and distorted mastery of Jennifer Walton, who arrives for a fabulous refit of KAVARI's 'Skee', setting the bar extremely high from the jump. Next, Pluralist lands in typically classy form, delivering a percussive-driven overhaul of Mercy System's 'Troika Planet', complete with quirky blips and a constantly evolving sense of rhythm which leads us perfectly into our final remix. Mercy System is one again the test subject with Bolam this time unleashing a post-garage rework of 'Every Time I See You', focussing intently on unique drum design and colourful soundscaping, rounding off this wicked selection in style.

Review: Straddling the grey zone where techno, garage and bass all intermingle is KEEFE's All Night. The title track is a good example of how this approach plays out. Over an intense, rolling techno groove, KEEFE weaves in repetitive vocal samples and whooshing filters. "Blue Calm" follows a similar trajectory - on this occasion, a wailing diva brings her uplifting tones to an intense, raw groove. "Drop Dat" veers more towards garage, thanks to the use of an ominous bass and skipping drums. This influence is also audible on "I Was There", but this time the sound is more soulful, as a stepping groove and a bruising low end underpin soulful vocals.

Review: Kelela's Hallucinogen isn't technically a new release. In truth, all of these tunes have been out already on Warp; the first part of the release featured all the original cuts while the second focused solely on remixes. However, there's just something right about releasing them together under one roof...the timing of this thing is just right given the artist's recent touring schedule. Her style is what we would call 'SDM', or 'Seductive Dance Music', which basically means a gorgeous blend of electronica and r&b vocalism, all tied together by that unmistakable Warp charm. Fans of artists like Throwing Shade will appreciate tunes like "A Message" or "Rewind", not to mention other pearls like the lead tune "Hallucinogens". The remixes all offer different and equally enticing.

Review: Keysound have a real knack for delivering unique sounding releases that really do push the bar up every time, a theme they continue to push with this fabulous new display from Kellen303'. The four track EP opens up with the dungeon-like reverberations and heavily textured backdrops of 'White Label', which through potent bass melodies and crunchy, minimal percussive clicks, gives us one heck of an intro. From here, the shimmering synthetic pops of 'The Dream' weave their way into view, backed by a breathy collection of synthesizer slides for good measure, before 'Life Different Now' fuses post-breaks drums with a seriously haunted sense of atmosphere, giving us a seriously unique piece of sonic art. We then take in the 'Roots VIP' of this one to follow, which focuses on a much more spacey arrangement, giving the track an alternate, more abstract look to round off the project in style.

Review: Kellen303 is a Brooklyn based DJ and producer who is Transit.fm co-founder and self-described word of mouth badman - a music junkie who appears here for the London-based dubstep label Keysound ,owned by Dusk and Blackdown. From the stripped back drum and bass deconstruction of "Planet X" to the bleak urban landscapes as described by Bronx based Afro-Dominicano MC Rainey on "Spy Glass" - you can see why this talented producer's dark sound appealed to this usually UK-centric label. The rapid-fire drum attack of the fiercely orchestrated "Big Shot" is also worthy of mention. All in all a unique hybrid, with tracks that are inspired by goth rock/industrial, footwork and vogue music.

Review: Making his first appearance on Svetlana Industries, endearing beat-botherer Kelpe has a full-bodied EP to share that extols the virtues of toasty synth lines, ramshackle beats and wild sample arrangement. "I Felt Fuzzy" has a definite sun kissed quality to it, as soothing coos provide vital melodic content before getting drowned out by psychedelic arpeggio washes, while the percussion rumbles and tumbles over itself in an easy funk. "Cola Mine" is more jagged, taking a heavy-edit approach that leaves plenty of space for all the elements in the track to get down. There's a beat-scene quality to the music, but with a clearer groove to align the dizzying detail to.

City - (3:02)
Review: Kelpe returns to Svetlana Industries with a ferocious mixture of futuristic beats and bleeps. "Bags Of Time" is a grinding, twisted, quasi 4/4 bass track engineered specifically for all your boogie needs. Next up, "Double Punt" is a surprisingly daring number, where a lazy, disjointed mass of a beat is reassembled into place thanks to powerfully mutating basses and a spine-chilling organ melody. Neon Jung's remix of the title track sees quick-firing snares and hi-hats circle hysterically from side to side, only to be engulfed by the smooth chords that accompany it. Kelpe rounds things off with the aptly named "City", a fuzzy, hip-hop influenced beat verging onto the stranger and more subdued strains of electro. Audacious electronic blends.

Review: Keeping the London-based deep house sound alive and well is one Kempston Hardwick, a producer still wet behind the ears thanks to a deuce of debut records for Lobster Theremin and SITU Records. Keeping on that tip is a third release for Distant Horizons that sees KH throw down some power house chords and Chicago keys in "Roxy's Party" next to some stripped back rhythm tracks in "Cascade" and the percussive, vocal chants of "Leonila". And for that classic touch of UKG beit US garage, "Step With Me" fills in any blanks. Future classic UK house for the archives.

Review: Despite the varying states of difficulty the world seems to find itself in, the growth of bass music across the globe doesn't seem to have slowed down in any way, with Night Bass remaining one of the most talked about imprints in the game. This latest helping from Kendoll is a perfect example of how to stay ahead of the curve, kicking off with 'Fall Back' alongside the legendary AC Slater and rapidly rising Sophiegrophy. This one sets the tone perfectly with it's kuduro-sounding percussive syncopations and catchy vocal inputs, before the unpredictable soundscapes and quirky melodic influxes of 'Wasted Again' takes the EP somewhere completely different. Finally, the ever-ready Dread MC joins the party for some rave-ready vocal additions on the big room stomper named 'Never Sleep', which comes to us dripping in acidic expression and original texture.

Brainfoot is the best LP of the week in our charts. Yes, that is an old statement, but we wouldn't say it if it weren't absolutely true; from start to finish, this is easily the finest slice of bass that you're likely to find or there. The latest offering naturally ticks these boxes and sees Rotterdam rising star Kessler deliver a sextet of club-ready but pleasingly otherworldly dancefloor explorations. Opener 'Lambert Rise' is a strikingly busy and intricately programmed late-night drum & bass mutation, while 'Moonlight Branches' successfully fuses vintage jungle breaks, 90s IDM chords and the immersive lusciousness of old school ambient techno. Elsewhere, 'Old Wives Tales' is a deep two-step garage treat, 'Only a Fool' adds chopped loon bird noises and lilting violins to a stomping psy-trance groove, and 'Kwaku' is a drowsy deep breaks roller.

Review: Whenever we see the Shall Not Fade banner rippling across the store we know we are going to be in for a good time, especially when that standard is accompanied by the brilliance of an artist like Kessler, who touches down with a bag of spicy originals. We open up with the glittering backdrops and breaksy mastery of 'Endless', which throughout emotive pad textures and sweeping percussion delivers a bombshell of an introduction. From here, the half-time rhythms and sensational synthesis of 'Mare's Nest' unleashes another wave of heat, before the more 2-step inspired drum designs of 'Aspect' take us in a different direction, doused however in just as much euphoric energy. Finally, Optimst arrives to twist 'Endless' into a glitchy drumfest, utilising clicky percussive inputs and jittering synth units to deliver a truly unique outro.
