Review: Jayl Funk has been turning out the party-starting funk grooves for well over a decade now and this latest pair, brought to you by Timewarp Music, won't disappoint fans of his previous work one iota. 'You Gotta Feel It' opens with a rave-y warping synth riff, then brings in pianos and female vocal wails before finally bursting out in all its funk-fuelled nu-disco glory. The pop-style vox might be a bit much for some but there's no doubting the bassline or the horns work... so it's just as well there's also an instrumental included, isn't it? 'Step Into It' features the same vocalist but is a little more laidback in feel.

Review: Instant Vibes have secured a coup here - a one-off collaboration between two key nu-skool breaks producers - Krafty Kuts and Jason Laidback. The results are smokin' with "Woofers In The Trunk' being a tough edged funker with pulsating bass, beefed up big-beats and a nonchalant drawl. Badass!

Review: Brighton's JFB is the reigning UK DMC champion. In fact, he's won it so many times now he's probably bored of it. When he's not utterly rinsing the decks with his flashy turntablism, he's rinsing it in the studio, lathering up jams like the Wobble Wash EP. Here we get two tracks, one for each deck so he can mix the bejaysus out of them, mash-up style. "FunkATone" is ferocious pop-dubstep - all funky breaks and fizzy melodic bass (with a blues-rock breakdown!), and "Skys Falling" meanwhile, brings trancey synths into play fusing nicely with the more mellow vibes on offer. Boom!
