For more than twenty years, Romain Coolen a.k.a. Prosper uses his record players like a ‘time travel machine’. His DJ sets often begin with sweaty funk and 90’s hip hop, pushing up tempo faster track by track for his mix to reach the highest level of heavy groovy electro.
Dj Prosper’s sound is unique and could be stamped with the label EBGT (Entertaining and of good taste). This French bloke doesn’t hesitate to mix together any and every style of dance music: Electro / Breaks / Rock / House / Drum’N’Bass / Soul / Funk / Disco / Reggae...
His insatiable eclectism and contagious good humor allowed him to share the stage with international artists such as Dj Krush, Fingathing, Public Enemy, Philippe Katerine, Fatboy Slim, The Freestylers, Herbaliser, The Scratch Perverts, Le Peuple De L’Herbe, Dj Zebra, Rinhoçéröse, Pony Pony Run Run, Popof, Pendulum, Propeller Heads, Riva Starr etc. to name a few.
As comfortable in underground rave parties as in VIP weddings, our turntable troublemaker has scoured most parisian clubs.
Prosper’s personal touch travels very often throughout Europe who's regularly shake under his rumbling bass.
As a producer, the moustachiod devil often signs productions for hype French electro record labels like Expressillon, Boxon, Formule, Leonizer Records. It just so happens that english, german and american record labels such as Bombstrikes, Manmade, GoodGroove, Breakbeat Paradise call on him for his bootlegger skills for funkier vinyl releases.
