Torafugu is an open project by Andrea Reverberi (former leader of indie-rock band Lineaviola) poet, musician and chef of Reggio Emilia. The project was born as laboratory to mix different artistic techniques and expressive, experiencing cross-collaborations, in search of a hypothetical new sound.
In 2009 he started working with producer and guitarist Sarc:o (Francesco Sarcone) and the musician Pietro Melloni: the objective is to merge the rhythms and sounds of dubstep and the locations of the break beat with the experiments of the indie and post-rock. The synthetic tracks are mixed voices and instruments, played live. In every song there is a constant attention to the movement: the body listens to the beats, the mind follows the melodies, the eyes shine pictures and words, dig a little 'deeper, in a case of distorted soul.
At the end of 2011 is due out the second EP by Torafugu, "Spot the Rain" (Yalla Records). Anticipated by the single "Rain Anthem" due out in digital format, scheduled for the end of July 2011, will be enriched by a very special b-side.
In the new project sound research has gone beyond the typical song form. The EP is a sort of soundtrack for the movie of others' lives. The voice is merged with the music and the sound is liquid and enveloping. Like a summer rain. Raising the volume increases more and more the emotional and sonic details to multiply up drunk to the listener, thanks to a fine production and an almost maniacal attention to the search for the "right sound", once again entrusted to poroduttore Sarc: o.
Torafugu is produced by Yalla Records, in collaboration with No-U-Turn and Zeta Factory.
