Review: Our favourites, Cititrax, roll the third editions of Tracks out onto our shelves, and the results are unsurprisingly strong on this excellent various artists comp. It's a mixed bag of skills, as per usual, and the sounds are those of a new NYC, fuelled by a new sort of post-industrial sensibility. Amato Y Mariana open with the tight beats and groove of "Queires Bailar", followed closely by the ominous compositions of the EBM-flavoured "Montgat" from The Sixteen Steps. Then, His Dirty Secrets bleeps out some morphed acid on "Structures", and "Another Stranger" from Further Reductions churns out a slow, mild-mannered house experiment with its roots clearly planted in the coldest of waves. Sick.

Review: Disque Discos are one of those imprints who are never fearful of evolution and development when it comes to music genres. They have dabbled in minimal, tech, disco, and are now testing out the cold-waves! They come through with debutant Fabio Me Llaman Soltero, who exists only under these four tunes - the rest is all a bit of a mystery at this point. "Vicio" kicks off with a hard-edged EBM driller, surrounded by beautiful melodic soundscapes, and "Locion De Piel" follows with an even more hypnotic slew of synth sounds, verging on the acidic. "Comando", on the other hand, knows it identity all too well, and launches a nasty 303 attack backed by a delightfully penetrative groove made up of broken kicks; "Tos" evolves the sound into something more reminiscent of that 80s neo-romantic wave. TIP!

Review: For over 15 years, Headman's Relish imprint has been one of the most vital electronic disco imprints. As this compilation EP demonstrates, it's still ahead of pretty much everyone else. Label owner Robi Insinna, the brains behind the Headman project, delivers a drum-heavy, murky take on The Mansisters' "Tex Control", while on "A Bit Of Sickness" Teniente Castillo & Mufti provide a near-definitive Relish track. Powerful, rumbling bass provides a back drop for eerie effects, dubbed out drums and some outer space electronic yelps. Fabrizio Mammarella, known for his work on Bear Funk and Dissident, also impresses with the chugging drums, low slung groove and out there effects of "Magnesium."
