Review: Earlier this year while in Sacramento, 6Blocc set up a meeting with Junior Demus to discuss dubplates. What became of that day was three tracks for Digital 6, one of which has been spun on its head by no less than seven very different producers. Enter "Jungle Stabbin'", first taken on by the legendary Marcus Visionary who puts a dancehall spin to the tropical sounds, before 6Blocc take on his own work for a switched-down, hip-swaying, dubbed-out take. Rootikal strips it back to original reggae stylings in his offerings, with a particularly nice brass hook added to the final track.

Review: Capitol 1212 draw another scorcher from their acclaimed LP 'The Return Of Rudy Nacho, seeing the lads team up with UK All Star and all-round legend 'Mr. Badman' Tenor Fly on a jump up UK junglist tip. The tenor is in a reflective mood as he sends an empowering message to his fellow brothers and sisters over a tear-out beefy riddim set straight for the dancefloor. On the remix side of things a bouncing dub-wise version from Montreal's jungle don RCola breaks the junglist mould before Belgium's favourite beatsmiths the Turntable Dubbers smash things up in a Latin style. Cumbia gets experimental with a host of tweaked effects, meanwhile Dublin's Dirty Dubsters lace the Tenor's lyrics on a dancehall riddim with squelching synths and sub bass to round things off. Things just got hot!

Review: Deekline enlists the skills of Feyder and Steppa Style for two monstrous skank-wise reggae bubblers; The Spruddy One-featured "Overcome" and the Ragga Twins-fronted "Sound Burial". The former flexes with a rapid Eek-A-Mouse-style vocals while the latter rips with the hype you'd expect from Deman Rockers and Flinty Badman. Version-wise we're also treated to reggae, dancehall and instrumental versions, each one adding serious roots authenticity.

Review: Liondub is doing what it does best with this EP: fusing the heritage of dub and reggae with tougher, more modern sounds. The original is a stepping ragga record that lopes on its percussive base, providing the infrastructure for Blackout Ja's vocals which land with menacing intent. JNGL is on the remix and he flips the original upwards into 170 territory, rolling out the drums whilst keeping the vocals true to the original. There are also two instrumental versions to go along with the single, allowing those of you who like things more stripped back to get your fix as well. Generous.

This latest offering sees the deadly duo of Lost City & Ward 21 link up for an electronic dancehall delight entitled 'Sicko'. The lead track is a certified piece of dancefloor dynamite, with emotive vocal sing-alongs and electrifying drum punches, making it an ultimate turn up riddim. The project comes with a killer JGNL remix as well, adding a new dimension to a stunning single. We can't wait to take this on a system.

Review: Supporting the debut album from Italian heavy-hitters Numa Crew, this five-track sampler showcases their diversity to the next level. First off, dancehall legend Mr. Lexx comes correct with a heavy vocal delivery on the high-powered "Kill the Whole a Dem". Proper bashment beats and legendary vocal style make this one a solid pick for dancehall reggae DJs everywhere. "Bass Hater" featuring rising star Dub FX, references classic drum & bass and hip hop hybrids, while "Control" is a steady half-time, minimal hip hop-infused track, laden with dub delays and circling synths. "Impossible" is proper jungle with skanking keys, heavy sub bass and classic breaks and finally, "B.M.X" leads off with pitched strings and digitised melodies that become quickly surrounded by heavy 808 sub pressure. High diversity, low-end sounds.

Review: Version excursion: Liondub return to Numa Crew's 2014 album and issue a selection of on-point artists with remix orders. The sharp steppy jump-up of "Bass Hater" gets an added muscular murking from Sub Killaz, a classic jungle roll from Brian Brainstorm and a heads-down growl twist from Samy Nicks. Meanwhile on the dubstep side of Numa Crew's output, "Control" enjoys even more remixes from the likes of Piezo & D Operation Drop (rolling paranoia vibes that border on thoroughbred techno), Lost City (mystic dancehall business) Badjokes (dark style breaks), Liondub (grimy skanks with added voicing from Dirty Smirks) and Meeku (classic jungle Omni Trio feels) Genuinely something for everyone here.

Bristol's J-Man goes back over his "Cease & Sekkle" EP from last spring and enlists a whole crew of killer remixers ranging from exciting newcomer to some of the most consistent OGs. Audiomission make a strong impression with their full flavoured take on "Party Hard", Lost City turn the carnival vibes up to 100 on "Cease & Sekkle" while both Origin One and Aries provide fire blend versions of "Coconut Chalwah"; the former gets his digidub wriggle on, the latter gets out his sharped amen cutlass chops. With plenty more, including a tightly coiled stepper twist from Marcus Visionary, it's another one click headshot from the Born On Road crew.

Review: When it comes to skanks you can always rely on the jungle/jump-up fusioneers Serial Killaz. Two of the most prolific and hardest working men in the bass game, for their next bullet they've collided with the Ragga Twins to pop the style once again. "Duppy Man" takes a very well-known riddim, ups the tempo and beefs up the drums while leaving more than enough space for Flinty and Deman to spit their lyrical signature. Complete with a mind-bogglingly twisted dancehall remix and instrumentals, this one covers absolutely everything that's great about the fizzy cross-pollination happening in drum & bass right now.
