Review: Within the ever strengthening dubstep expanse, the guys at Duloc have most certainly solidified their brand as one of the most forward thinking outlets. That couldn't be clearer when listening through the first volume of their 'Dupplates' series. We begin with the haunted LFOs of Hebbe's 'Watch Out', before Enigma Dubz gets to work on a colossal remix straight after. Track three is a serious swampy roller entitled 'Wayside' and comes to us from Melle, before Mr.K rounds up the project in style on 'Lemon Twist', a subbing piledriver of a riddim.

All These Things - (4:14) 140 BPM
Review: Whenever we open up a new package from the Deep Dark & Dangerous team we now know to expect something that is likely to knock our blocks off, a promise that Khiva most certainly keeps with these two absolute scorchers. We begin with the title track 'Where The Reaper Stood', a horrorcore stepper, doused in eerie vocal delights and sharp, impactful percussive design, this one could spook out any dance. On the flip, 'All These Things' delivers a combination of gnarly LFO gobbles and sharpened metallic bass distortion to provide a haunted B-side!

Review: We are huge fans of the Duploc movement here at Juno Download, especially when they continue to roll out projects as powerful as this one as they unveil twelve war-inspired remixes. The roster they boast is outstanding, with the likes of Pushloop, ENiGMA Dubz, Rygby, Ourman and more all getting involved with some tasty overhaul involvement. For us there are two clear standouts from this one, including Ternion Sounds subtle yet hard hitting refix of 'The Eyes' from ENiGMA Dubz, alongside Dalek One's glitch-driven reimagining of 'Seek War', originally put together by Ghostek. This is Duploc at their absolute best and we can't get enough!

SubDocta - "The Spirit" - (4:14) 140 BPM
Review: Part three is upon us as Deep Dark & Dangerous unveil the final piece of the puzzle in their latest release line with 'Dangerous', showcasing the most rawcus sounds on their roster. The line up for this one is sublime, with heavyweight names such as CITY1, Ternion Sound, Lost, Dank Frank, DayZero and SubDocta all being drafted in to showcase their unique skill sets. The project as a whole bleeds creativity and musical innovation, with particular points of interest coming in DMVU's incredibly swampy 'Dem Fi Kno' original, which unleashes a wash of pungent synthesizer sweeps and impactful percussive inputs, alongside the unpredictable electronic brilliance of 'Arc' from Computerbeats. This compilation series has been truly magnificent to take in and is a real testament to the DD&D commitment to pushing dubstep forward.

Review: So let us get this right, following on from three weeks of incredible compilations, the DD&D team are back literally a week later with another corker? Incredible. They continue their outstanding run here via the silky sounds of Khiva, who firstly pushes forward the electronic brilliance of 'Chuckles Revenge', a metallic warbler switching between subtle sub pounds and big room synth slaps. On the flip 'From The Dirt' unleashes a more stripped back design, packing no less potency however as more grizzly wobbles are let loose amidst well place vocal samples!

No Gimmick - (3:19) 140 BPM
Milk - (4:35) 140 BPM
Review: The consistency at which the Deep Dark & Dangerous team continue to move is up there with the best in the world right about now, as they unveil this fabulous new four track experiment from Isded. The EP kicks off with a weighty introduction as 'Fear' combines spooky woodwind lines with a minimalist drum crunches and a potent sub pulse below for some magical results. From here, the warbling begins properly as 'Abysmal' lets loose a swampy LFO line, followed by the stripped back bass pressure and bright drum slaps of 'No Gimmick'. Finally, 'Milk' sees Isded really let loose, this time beefing up the drum lines for an incredibly punchy arrangement, topped with some world famous meme-sampling and an alarm-line synthesizer that carries the track perfectly.

Review: Following on from a fantastic selection of full length drops across 2020, the Duploc team continue their exciting run of form here, presenting the fourth chapter of their sumptuous 'Duploc Selects' series. They offer up another 10 system scorchers, with the likes of Rez, Oddkut, Hotcut, Nova and more all supplying the goods. The full tracklisting is pretty outstanding, but there are a couple of highlights we couldn't not mention, with Hella's spacey saxophone genius on 'Trinity Centre' being an instant hit. The sub-busting basslines and explosive reesey textures of 'Me N My Speakaz' from DRTY HBTZ is also an absolute bop, with the sizzling low end of Idioteque's 'Morality' also raising some eyebrows!

Review: Hang on, Hebbe, Melle, MR.K and ENiGMA Dubz all on one track together, no your ears do not deceive you, that is indeed the incredible new offering that Duploc have put on the table during these troubling times. Being one of the most versatile producers in the land, we often see ENiGMA floating around UKG and bass these days, but to see him back in his home-realm of deep dubstep is always a pleasure. He gets busy here with a disgusting rethink of 'Wayside', rebuilding the original elements from Hebbe, Melle and MR.K into a scrumptious chomper, packed full of spooky pads and grizzly warbling synthesizer fun.

Review: It is genuinely very difficult to keep pace with everything that the Deep Dark & Dangerous team have been up to, following on from three mega compilations and an awesome release last week, they return to business with another weighty selection from ONHELL. He delivers a monstrous EP for us all to enjoy, featuring eleven original subby rollers under the title 'Grime Beats Vol. 1'. We can most certainly hear the grimey influences rolling through, from the grizzly square leads of 'Airplane Beat', to the trappy rhythms of 'Cold Bitch Type Beat'. The project is a mighty success, with favourites including the swampy textures of 'Wolf And The Cub' and of course the speaker busting basslines of '21X Riddim'. Awesome work!

Review: The expectation of quality has never been higher than what Duploc are currently working with, as the 140 ambassadors deliver another tasty bite of spice, this time welcoming Tappa inside for a four track adventure. We begin with the dusty atmospheric sweeps and well chiseled rhythmic displays of 'The Motive', which uses chunky bass pulses to deliver something really special, before the eastern melodic plucks and raucous synth design of 'Tension' sends us somewhere completely different. It steps up a gear next as '666' then unleashes a gnarly, unpredictable set up drum & synth combos, again adding a whole new dimension to the journey, before landing on the more subtle melodic twists of 'No Heart' for a crunchy finale.

Review: Over the years we have seen the vocal mastery of Strategy rise right to the top around the deeper side of electronic dance music. Therefore, when you pair him with producers with as much firepower as Regents & Cartridge, you know you are in for a treat. We begin with 'Shegry', a ferocious fusion of subtle reesey bass textures and scattered percussive rhythms, followed by the intense drum rolls of 'Greengate Adhesive', within which we hear the very best of Strategy's more classic-sounding verse structuring. Next, another roller with 'Nuff Noise', which unleashes more of those outlandish bass designs, morphing into an electronic pulser, before the super catchy melodic jitters of 'Heritage' round off a fantastic EP with a touch of new school finesse.

This new project houses four more system-ready scorchers, kicking off with the alarm-like synth melodies and grinding LFO expressions of '40 Fathoms', before 'Earth Giants' unveils an aquatic sounding display of jittering melodic grooves and harmonic structure. From here, the eerie strings and gnarly bass manipulations of 'Silverback' roll into play, once again showcasing the pure finesse we have come to associate with any ENiGMA Dubz creation, before the more emotional designs of 'Too Close To The Sun' close out another killer project with some serious flare. This is a collaborative link up we would be happy to see time and time again.

First up, ENiGMA himself steps forward on remix duty for 'Wayside', originally crafted by the combined talents of Hebbe, Melle & Mr.K. He twists and reformats this one into a haunted basin of horror-core synth work and delicate drum tap dances, giving us something truly unique. First up, 'Lemon & Cognac' unleashes a grizzly combination of gnarly synth swipes and eerie vocal samples to kick us off in style, before 'Los Angeles' takes the sound back to the essence with a jumpy, percussive-lead roller, packed with tasty distortion and shimmering shakers. Review: Swedish sludge merchants Kloudmen float down from the sub heavens for a premium position on the ever on-point DUPLOC and serve us two cuts of the cool, crisp dub. "Djuro" is a game of two halves going on at once - do you fix your focus on the rippling jazz chords in the background or the groaning pneumatic bass pressure in the forefront? "XR" removes any quandaries as our focus is firmly fixed on the chasmic dubspace and sizzling designs that ricochet across the mix. Remarkable.

Review: The DUPLOC imprint come in with yet another winner, and 2017 looks set to be the year that this fine independent finally makes it through into the big leagues. After all, If they keep on recruiting peeps like Le Lion and D Operation Group the there's nothing that can stop them! "Breaking Pattern" sees Le Lion blast out some sharp shards of low frequencies over a moody, lingering sort of sonic fuzz that will have fans of Burial salivating good and proper; while the tune itself doesn't rest at a slow pace, it has something real and organic about its choice of electronics. The remix from D Operation Drop lifts the lid on the old hertz by delivering another pounding wave of bass to swallow the dance floor whole. And then sum.

Review: Boston's AXH is increasingly in the spotlight when it comes to deep, raucous dubstep vibes and, perhaps because he's from the other side of the pond, his material just seems to have something fresh and alluring about it - not to hype it up or anything! After a killer appearance on London's TEMPA not too long ago, the bad badboy runs two new dope tunes on the impressive Duploc imprint. "Witch doctor" blows a menacing, cosmic array of bass tones over a dismantled percussion beat, slamming all over the place like it's 2006, while "Lionart" takes some inspiration from the ragga school of thought in delivering its dutty, wobbling swarm of bass over deep, mystical roots vibes. Heavy.

Review: Despite the fact that traditionally, winter remains somewhat of a slumberous period for the electronic music industry, the Deep Dark & Dangerous contingent spare no time getting back to what they do best, which is releasing heavyweight dubstep flavour. They here invite Coltcuts inside to deliver two tracks of pure fire, kicking off with the warbling electronic bass drives of 'Thank The Lord', which possesses a pretty damned demonic feeling throughout. On the flip side, '100% Herb' gives us something very different as twisted, mystic melodic structures writhe uncontrollably amidst sharp, whipping drum slaps and eerie atmospheric design. Review: The reign of Duploc continues to expand as we are here greeted with their 27th official release, and it packs just as much potency as the first one they ever put together. They here employ the darkened production stylings of 207, who touches down with two absolutely lethal originals, the first of which goes by the name of ''DSP'. Through a high energy combination of gnarly reese growls and stalwart drum sounds, this one marches forward with some serious pace. On the flip, 'Jungle Lizard' does just as much damage, focussing more of extended, distorted bass tones and war-like drum designs. Crunchy stuff!

Snake Charmer - (3:13) 140 BPM
Dizi - (4:34) 140 BPM Hot
Review: It's been a fantastic first half of the year for the ever-present Duploc movement, who here step out for their twenty-eighth official release, this time employing the explosive production stylings of Osco. We kick off this potent two track selection with a dive into 'Snake Charmer', an eastern inspired roller packed with mysterious horn melodies and pleasingly rustic drum expressions. On the flip side to this, we are gifted another absolute heater in 'Dizi', a track which again plays off the eastern themes, this time taking a more trap-like approach to percussion and introducing angry horn motifs and more catchy melodic lines.

Cooled - (5:36) 140 BPM
Steam - (3:54) 140 BPM Hot
Review: It is clear that the Duploc team intend to keep the energy levels as high as they did throughout 2019 here as they unveil a tasty two tracker from Sam Cosmic to get the year off to a flying start. We begin this one with a dive into the groovy manoeuvres and catchy melodic structures of 'Cooled', which utilizes an unusual squeaky lead synth instrument with great results. On the flipside we then take in 'Steam', a proper colourful piece of dubstep production, with synth designs alternating between emboldened bass LFO's and eski-style square glides, providing incredible contrast within the tune from start to finish. Excellent stuff on these two.

Kream - (5:02) 140 BPM Hot
Played by: NAZA, Alert
Review: The consistency of all involved with this one is certainly something to be immediately admired, as we the ever-ready sounds of Juss B link up with Duploc, one of last years stand out labels within the dubstep scene. They here whip up two tracks of pure steppers delight for us, kicking off with the unpredictable synth and melody switches of 'Can't Sleep', which combines gnarly bass instrumentation with catchy vocal chops perfectly. On the flip-side, 'Kream' unloads a nuclear lead synthesizer, warbling away, leaving all in it's path devastated. This is one for the ravers, make no mistake!

Review: We are always excited to see a new adventure arrive from the Deep Dark & Dangerous crew, with this latest collection of sub-sweltering heaters coming to us from the one and only Basura. We open up with the breaks infused twists and sizzling low ended manoeuvres of 'The Grouch', which also packs a synthy punch across the midrange, before SEEK joins the party for a reese-heavy sweep through 'Lose Ur Mind', another raucous original. Next, Wolf'd touches down for another spicy collaboration, this time seeing 'Hide' provide us with a steadily chattering tapdance through uniquely arranged percussive rhythms, bringing us to a deadly closer in 'Parks N Rec', a wobbly monster that closes off the project in style!

Review: The Deep Dark & Dangerous team really do have a top knack for spotting and crafting high end releases, with this brand new 'Ishtar' album from Abstrakt Sonance being yet another winner. Featuring 17 incredible originals, it's a masterpiece of 140 themes and dubstep influences, from the grizzling reeses of 'Mindstate' and subtle sitar slides of 'From Wallah With Love' to the percussive brilliance of 'Beautiful Time To Be Alive' and system ready sub-marches of 'Deep In The Jungle'. There's just so much to enjoy throughout the project, including some high end collaborations, which sees the likes of D Double E, Killa P, Long Range, Crowell, Vandull and EniGMA Dubz all get involved with top quality contributions.

Lurking - (6:03) 140 BPM
Review: Bass lone wolf Sepia is as mischievous and shady as they come in the scene. We mean that as a compliment; the artist is as mysterious as the meditative dubstep that he delivers week in and week out, which is exactly what the Deep Dark & Dangerous imprint look out for in their signings. "Lurking" might be a one-track EP, but it will no doubt make most other current bass EPs seem tiny and irrelevant by comparison. In fact, we can't think of many other artists who are crafting such quality dubstep at the moment; calibrated to the perfect level of wobbliness, and tactical in its form of percussion, this is the sort of gear that will get all the B-side fanatics up and ready for a good head-nod. Sick.

Review: Sepia's move to Deep Dark & Dangerous is the natural turnout for an artist whose been residing on our charts with nothing but bangers for the last few years. The imprint is quickly picking up all the relevant talents, and is quickly becoming an important force when it comes to new waves of dubstep. "Sakura" charges forth with a militant bass stance, followed by "Eclipse" and its glitchy half-steps surrounded by eerie background sonics. "Point Blank" goes down more soulful pastures, nodding to the likes of Burial in the process, while "Regret" tunes down the tempo entirely and ends up at a slow, Eastern lull with a booming sub bass for added effect. Sublime material from Sepia!

Tell Dem - (4:19) 140 BPM Hot

Review: It's been ten releases for the DUPLOC label since Noclu inaugurated the imprint, and we're glad to see him back with two new slices of mind dynamite, not just for the head-bangers, but also for the corner-dwellers. "Magic", for instance, bangs away its drums without fear, but its mystical range of melodies are what render the tune a deep and ethereal piece of dubstep that would make the likes of Mala and Coki real proud of the dynasty that they've left behind - and Pinch, truth be told! "Tell Dem" follows a similar path, but the beat takes a more stuttering position, one that breaks down and reshapes with each new drop of the bass. Tip!

Pique - (4:13) 140 BPM Hot
Indian Flute - (3:49) 140 BPM
Played by: NAZA
Review: Something we find ourselves discussing often here at Juno Download is the consistency of labels, with Duploc often being a name at the top of our list. Over the last three years they have absolutely dominated the dubstep scene, with this latest two track drop from Surreal being the latest in a long line of bangers. We kick off with a subtle piece of stepper brilliance entitled 'Pique', stuffed to the brim with engulfing subs alongside groovy synthesizer scrapes and well produced drum designs to match. On the flip, 'Indian Flute' takes us deeper and darker into the realms of reverberation and delay as a stunning woodwind line is accompanied by 808-style bass pushes and more explosive percussive inputs to add a nice sense of depth to this two tracker!

This Sound - (3:18) 140 BPM
Review: It's rare that we find ourselves disappointed with a Deep Dark & Dangerous release, who appear to be able to do no wrong at the moment, a feeling amplified by this magnificent display from Konka. We begin with the dungeon-ready bass growls and warbling low-ended displays of 'Annix', which sets the tone for the EP pretty quickly. Next, the bass-bin-bending synthesizer blows of 'Plane Shifter' unleash a monstrous display of sonic power, before the alien-like reese tones of the title track 'War With The Devil' continue the dungeon-ready theme. From here, the sharpened drum processing of 'Scavenger' gives us a refreshing switch up, without losing any of that sub-bass potency, before 'This Sound' delivers a rib cage-rattling finale, rounding off a seriously impressive display.

Review: The run that Duploc find themselves upon is pretty astonishing, with nothing but top quality releases landing in their catalogue. Their latest outing sees Coltcuts return for the fifth edition of the 'Dupplates' series, kicking off with the chiming melodic movements and hard hitting drums rops of 'You Said'. From here, we then move into 'My Dear', a serious sub-buster, driven by eastern instrumentation and powerful bass textures, combining with a serious punch. Next, it's on to the VIPs as we firstly check out the dramatic, drum heavy overhaul of 'The Vihaan', before finishing off with the super crunchy synth bass slaps and sharpened snare snaps of 'The Phantom' rework. Serious Dupplate business!

Review: As always it would seem with DUPLOC, we are once again for a treat as they deliver yet another killer dubstep selection, this time welcoming Oddkut into the fold for three trackers of steppers delight. We begin with the title track 'Loud', a raucous ride through twisted metallic synthesizer slides and precise vocal execution from Griz-O, giving us a high octane introduction to the EP. Next up, we move into more synthetic madness as 'Deposition' combines swampy melodies with gnarly bass grinds for another sonic masterclass, before the EP rounds off with the more stipped back drum rolls and subtle bass inflection of 'Hiding Rage', closing things out in style.

Review: Duploc have been on a killer run over the last couple of years, with this latest drop from Nahilith providing even further wood for the fire, focussing on fiery dubstep flavours all the way through. We begin with the heavyweight sub grinds and clicky drum work of 'Prowler', followed by the more shifting synthetic melodies of 'Dreams' and hard hitting kick thumps of 'Dissolve', setting the tone for the EP in lightning fast fashion. Next, 'Nothing To Prove' focuses on dizzying, eerie pad & vocal combos with a thudding lead bass pattern below, before the twisted string intrusions of 'Imperial' close things off in style.

Review: It appears, to nobody's surprise, that Ternion Sound have gone and done it again, landing on the dubstep behemoth: Deep Dark & Dangerous for a scrumptious four track offering. We begin with a dive into the incredibly punchy drum work and eerie melodic twists of the title track 'Know Thyself', followed my the more harmonic journey of 'Hallowed'. The drum design throughout this EP is pretty flawless, with the scattered marching rhythms of 'Ah Fer Fuck' giving us a real injection of energy before 'They're Coming' deploys a monstrously mighty set of bass tones and percussive manoeuvres to round things off nicely.
