Review: Let's Play House has described this debut EP from Saidera, a trio comprising former Lemonade man Alex Pasternak, Avan Lava's Mike Cheever and samba school leader Osvaldo 'Vadinho' Luiz Freire de Araujo, as "a big move in a new direction" for the long-established Brooklyn label. It genuinely is, but one that we wholeheartedly recommend checking. Title track 'Deixa Tudo Fluir' is genuinely gorgeous, summery and mood-ehancing - all cheery Portuguese vocals, sun-kissed guitars, warming nu-disco synths and huggable samba grooves - while 'Sincronicidade' delivers a slower but no less sunny fusion of samba-soaked musical elements with a glassy-eyed twist. Guerrinha's remix of 'Deixa Tudo Fluir', which boasts denser beats and expressive, David Cole style house piano solos, is also extremely impressive.

Review: Storage Media AKA Hugo Jay AKA DJ Kush Boogie next on UK lo-fi house merchants E-Beamz who served up that very talked about EP by DJ Boring recently. It is much more of the dusty and dreamy variety: meme house in the vein of Lobster Theremin and we are really digging it! Particularly the crunchy retrovert jack of "002" or the new age groove of "004" with its soothing FM bell tones hypnotising you in style. Nice!

Review: Skanky - the pseudonym of choice for young Londoner Louis Johnson - could be onto a good thing with debut single "One More Night", certainly if the plethora of positive comments on Cool Kid Music's Soundcloud page are anything to go by. Blessed with a decidedly old skool feel - think a big sampled vocal hook, early '90s pianos, big strings and skippy, garage-influenced beats - "One More Night" has all the makings of a big dancefloor hit. It doesn't do anything particularly new, but Shanky's commitment to getting that early '90s sound just right is impressive. Expect to hear it a lot in coming months.

Review: If it's experimental, forward-thinking music from deep house's outer fringes you're after, you'll find it in abundance on this four-tracker from Sweden's Studio Barnhus, released to mark the label's 10th anniversary. Label bosses Kornel Kovacs and Axel Boman bring us a track each, with Kovac's 'Zero Feel' a laidback, shuffle-y groover while Boman's 'Radionova' fuses deep, prog and Balearic influences and is probably the closest thing to a straight-up 'deep house' cut anywhere on the EP. Elsewhere, Studio Barnhus's 'Sverige' is a wonked-out downtempo/chill-out piece, while Pedrodollar's 'Gazzoo' comes on like '91-style hardcore as heard through a post-PC Music filter, chipmunk'd vocal and all.

Review: To celebrate ten years of Lazy Days, boss men Fred Everything and Mike Fresco have come up with a novel concept: a series of five EPs containing ten new tracks from ten different artists. This first volume in the series features label regulars Shur I Kan and Pezzner, with the former opening proceedings. "Something In The Air" is one of the sometime Freerange man's best tracks for a while, getting just the right balance between chunky deep house bounce, sweet melodiousness and sweaty, late night goodness. Pezzner takes a different tack on "Thug Rock", delivering all the cut-up thrills of boompty-era Classic releases with all the melodious warmth of contemporary deep house.

Review: The Jaunt Records 10 years series shores up with the Land installment featuring another four adventurous souls that have the spirit of deepest techno in their bones. Stojche lets lush Motor City synths lead the way on the energetic "The Exchange" before AWOL gets into an intricate broken beat groove on the stunning "54.973379, -1.614705". Luke Hess brings some unabashed acid gurgles to the front of the mix on "TDY" and then Deep'a & Biri plot a course for dubby waters with the growling tones of "Pilgrim".

Review: Session Victim's last couple of vinyl-only releases have been blissfully Balearic affairs. While undeniably impressive and well worth checking, their latest EP - a rare outing on Toy Tonics - is a much more club-ready affair. They start in typically confident fashion with 'Chunky Dip', a constantly-building house loop jam crafted from various disco samples (think Soundstream, and you're close), before opting for a warmer, looser and more organic, Afrobeat-influenced sound on the warm and sunny 'MPFree Now' (which also boasts some superb old blues-rock samples). 'Hide & Seek' is an ultra-deep chunk of smoky late-night jazz-house/deep house fusion, while 'House In The Hills' is a drowsy mid-tempo number that joins the dots between Balearica, heady ambience and loved-up deep house. Quality... as usual!
