Review: By now, we should all know what to expect from each new album in Joey Negro's "Remixed With Love" series, namely fantastic new revisions of classic disco, boogie, soul, electro and jazz-funk classics created using the original multi-track tapes. This third volume naturally contains a few inspired revisions of well-known cuts - a riotous take on The Fatback Band's "Do The Bus Stop", an astonishing, dubbed-out version of the Temptations' "Law of the Land" and a soaring, life-affirming rearrangement of Patrice Rushen's "Never Give You Up" included - but also some suitably smart tweaks of lesser-known gems. These include a sublime revision of the APX's '80s gem "Loose Yourself To The Groove" and an insatiable take on Mass Production's "Shante" full of jammed-out electric piano solos and rubbery electric bass.

Review: Every now and then we get a faint signal from this Beaten Space Probe, lost in the depths of the nebulous disco cosmos. It usually crackles through on our radio about once a year and is unanimously greeted with whoops of delight and much dancing on our analogue space consoles. This missive contains nine galaxian edits, presumably all peak time bangers on the hottest alien dancefloors. Highlights include the elasticated bass frenzy of "Double Lines", the Kool & The Gang redux "Don't Wanna Dance" and Fingerman's electro-boogie blaster, "Like 2 Baby". Far out!

VinylAddicted/SMQ - "Another Love" - (6:35) 119 BPM
Pontchartrain - "Get Over You" - (7:26) 116 BPM
Review: Sleazy McQueen's Whiskey Disco imprint continues to be one of the more reliable sources of disco and boogie re-edits. Rather predictably, this latest installment in the series is bristling with high-grade dancefloor material. There's some riotous, party-minded disco-funk from newcomer Scott M, who delivers a killer touch-up of Vernon Burnch's "Get Up", and a thrillingly low-slung chunk of rolling disco-house from VinylAddicted and SMQ. While Pontcharain also provides a tightened-up, filter-heavy tweak of France Joli's Prelude classic "Gonna Get Over You" - heavy on the delay, and with the urgent hustle of house - it's the contribution from Canadian stalwart Eddie C that stands out. A smooth, midtempo cut-up of a lesser-known rollerboogie jam, it rises and falls in all the right places.

Review: After impressing with a series of decent contributions to re-edit EPs from Chopshop and Man made music, Japan's Beaten Space Probe (AKA producer Shota Tanaka) strikes out on his own. The mood throughout Beaten Space Probe 01 is celebratory, as Tanaka subtly extends, tweaks and improves a string of groove-heavy disco jams. The four-track menu includes a particularly tasty extension of Loletta Holloway's "Love Sensation" and the deliciously optimistic "Nine Lives", a sugary sweet but surprisingly meaty edit that builds to a blistering climax. Best of all, though, is opener "Boogie Prancin", which is as addictive as it is cheery. That's very, by the way.

Francis Inferno Orchestra - "Sun Up" - (8:00) 116 BPM
Toomy Disco - "Outstanding" - (6:32) 100 BPM
Psychemagik - "Carnaval De Trancoso" (edit) - (8:26) 114 BPM
Review: The House of Disco site launches its new label endeavour of the same name with an impeccable selection of cosmopolitan sounds from four of the contemporary disco scene's most valued selectors. The ubiquitous Nicholas kicks things off with the slinking "Talking About Love" which leans on a soul classic with aplomb, and it's matched by the most upwardly mobile number on this release from Australia's Francis Inferno Orchestra. "Sun Up" is driven by one of those incessantly energetic filtered cores and surrounded by a thumping groove and leaves you gasping for the moment the vocal hook and hats finally kick in. Up next everyone's favourite South American dwelling East European exponent of super slow disco does his thing on "Outstanding" whilst Psychemagik indulges in some carnival leaning house boom on "Carnaval De Transoco". A deft release that corners all aspects of the modern discoteria needs.

Jamie Trench - "That Groovy Thing" - (6:12) 120 BPM Hot
Review: Roots For Bloom SHAG Edits series returns with volume 3. M.James brings us a track that will catch any music lovers ear. With the crisp percussion, delicate guitar riffs, a bassline that keeps evolving throughout and that vocal, this one ticks all the boxes. On the flip label boss Jamie Trench maintains the general feel for the record. This one focusing on a simpler yet just as effective bassline and obviously being heavily reliant on the sample being in the shag edits series. If you're looking for that record that stands out from the rest, this is the weapon you need.

Review: Fingerman's Hot Digits imprint has packed in a lot of releases over the past 12 months, as this expansive roundup of the label's second year in business proves. Featuring 27 tracks and a bonus mix by the South Coast dwelling label boss, there's naturally plenty to admire. Highlights include, but are not limited to, the rolling, head-nodding grooves of Eyeco M's "Keeping It To Myself", the killer proto-house throb of "Tonight" by Bad Barbie vs Evil Smarty, the sexy, string-drenched disco loveliness of P-Sol's "Can't You See", LTJ's trumpet-boasting funk bumper "Fat Thing", and the hard-wired, bass-heavy rework of Julia & Company's "Breakin' Down (Sugar Samba)" by Melon Bomb. It is, though, all pretty darn hot.

Review: Bristol's Addison Groove is back and getting well funky on this one! The Groove boss and 50Weapons staple gets some low slung party vibes into full effect on "F1nk" - a wicked tool that's looped to perfection. Next up, he goes deeper into the night on the hypnotic and very exotic polyrhythmicity of "Sudoeste" which features good mate Bim Sanga - it follows up their excellent Where Are The People EP on Bags Inc. last year. This one was our pick of the two and is perfect for those heads-down or 'get weird' moments on the dancefloor. Tip!

Here he serves four guaranteed floor fillers starting with "Mild Mild West", a loose-limbed disco rendition of the Good The Bad and The Ugly theme, next "Too Good" sees Aretha Franklin get a house-shaped whoosh under her backside, "EveryMoney" meanwhile sees some vintage soul fused with classic Kelis and ODB and finally "Hold Tight" sees the show close with some sizzling neon-flecked arpeggiated disco..

Windy City - "Chicago" (Kon edit) - (3:29) 112 BPM
Illvester - "Feel Reel" (Kon edit) - (10:07) 128 BPM Hot
Review: Perennial re-edit fanciers Basic Fingers have enjoyed a productive 2012 to date, dropping a series of impressive scalpel works from Jazzy Jens and DJ Kool Dust. Here, they offer up more revelatory reworks, this time from famed crate-digger Kon (he of "and Amir" fame). While the breezy disco-funk of "Chicago" is worthy of plays, it's the epic Sylvester re-cut that's really worth your attention. It sounds like Kon managed to get the multi-track tapes for "You Make Me Mighty Real", because he's reconstructed it from scratch, building up from little more than background handclaps to a veritable orgasm of falsetto disco screamery in 10 absorbing minutes.

Review: Sneaky re-edit imprint Editorial likes to offer good value. As with previous releases, "Cross Corner" features no less than six floor-friendly reworks to satisfy the needs of all but the pickiest disco divas. While there are a couple of merely solid versions of well-known hits (Grace Jones and Marvin Gaye both get cut-up), there are far more high quality re-arrangements of lesser-known gems. Of particular interest are the contributions from The Legendary 1979 Orchestra and Manmademusic, both of whom wonderfully stretch out soul-flecked disco gems with inch-perfect precision.

Review: Crazy P main man James Baron returns under his Ron Basejam alias, with more liquid nu-disco jams. Started as a casual side project 12 years ago, Baron wanted to 'capture the more diverse and quirky sides of his musical tastes', creating underground music that he incorporates with character, personality and humour. The After The Rain EP sees him return to Bristol institution Futureboogie, for the first time since 2016's "The Carrington Spirituals". Featuring the very soulful and near spiritual title track, the lo-slung funk attack of "The French Exit " and the late night acid express of "Raise" (featuring some vocals reminiscent of the legendary Daryl Pandy) among others - each one is a a sure shot and will light up the dancefloor.

Review: Earlier this year, Daniele Baldelli released Back To My Funky Side, the follow-up to his funk and soul inspired 2005 full-length My Funky Side. On this partner album, LP highlights - including the riotous, horn-heavy funk jam "Funk Me Again" - are joined by a plethora of largely impressive remixes. There's a stunningly dense and dubbed-out of version of "Fountainebleau" from the Idjut Boys, a smooth and groovy, near Balearic take on "A Good Day" from DJ Rocca, and a jaunty Italo-meets-classic disco tweak of "Mellow Game" by Greg Wilson and Derek Kaye. Best of all, though, is Eric Duncan's version of "Funk Me Again", which turns the original into a driving slab of heavy dub disco with clavs aplenty.

Review: With a sly wink and a beckoning wave of the hand, Chopshop invite us into their boudoir for another seductive trip into slinky rework territory. As usual, many bases are covered. Captain Futuro kicks things off with "Love Me Crazy", a slo-mo disco-flecked hip-hop head-nodder. Label supremo DJ Butcher turns Dave Gerard's "Twisted Message" (a sneaky bootleg version of the Furious Five classic) into a disco funk-breaks smasher, before laying down some revivalist rare groove fun in the shape of his own "However Do You Want Me" (a rework of Soul II Soul's "Back To Life"). A decidedly sensual package is completed by the misty-eyed headiness of Ill Advised "Superstition" (yep, a remake of that "Superstitition").

It's been a few years since we've had a album from the group, and this 11-track-strong effort doesn't disappoint. Highlights include the sumptuous opener, the sleepy disco of "Like A Fool", the slinky and soulful synth odyssey "Echo" and the beguilingly honeyed female vocal chorus of the title track. Walk Dance Talk Sing fits the bill for this Saturday's night party or Sunday morning's chillout soundtrack.

Review: Valique once more dons his popular V's Edits guise for another trip into Balearic rework territory. This 18th installment in the long-running series has a "neo-blues" theme, offering the former funk breaks man a chance to deliver suitably dancefloor-friendly interpretations of cuts by Muddy Waters, BB King, The Doors and Rodriguez (a tasty re-arrangement of the 'Sugar Man's "Can't Get Away"). Interestingly, he also turns Dire Straits' radio-friendly, solo-heavy "Sultans of Swing" into a loose, tech-influenced house jam. Elsewhere, look out for a house-goes-breaks-goes-Balearic take on "Horse With No Name" (here titled "Has The Name"), and the bluesy powder house flex of "Daymallah".

Review: Fingerman's Hot Digits imprint has always reflected his production style, delivering releases that gleefully blur the boundaries between re-edits, remixes and original material, and blend elements of disco, funk, soul, boogie and deep house. This groovy, warm and floor-friendly formula is much in evidence on this first anniversary compilation. Featuring a blend of previously released gear, exclusives and a bonus DJ mix from Fingerman, Hot Digits: Year One is an effortlessly entertaining collection. There's naturally much to admire, from the subtle house beats and P-funk synths of Fingerman's own "Shine Yo Litez" (a rework of an old Grangers tune), and the disco-funk chunkiness of Groove Motion's "Party Now", to the compressed, dubbed-out disco house madness of Chewy Rubs' "Let It Go".

Cameo - "C On The Funk" (DJ Vas rework) - (4:26) 110 BPM Hot
Joe Bataan - "Call My Name" (DJ Vas rework) - (4:04) 108 BPM
DJ Vas - "One Love" - (4:10) 115 BPM
Kleeer - "Winners" (DJ Vas rework) - (6:05) 117 BPM
Review: DJ Vas, a former member of 1990s French house outfit Kojak, returns to action with a slinky selection of floor-friendly re-edits. First up, early Cameo jam "C To The Funk" gets a rolling, undulating rework - all looped grooves, parping horns, urgent vocals and '70s funk attitude. Vas then adds a little house swing to Joe Bataan's clav-heavy "Call My Name", stripping out most of the vocals to emphasize the original's killer groove. The un-credited "One Love" is a wide-eyed chunk of sensual sweetness, while Kleeer's "Winners" gets turned into an inspired slab of soaring jazz-funk goodness. Impressive stuff.

Review: This impressively expansive collection from experienced remixer Valique showcases some of the best downtempo and Balearic edits from his popular V's Edits series. There's certainly plenty to get the blood pumping and the juices flowing throughout, from a chugging, ten-minute take on Pink Floyd ('Brickwall') and a pleasingly squelchy take on Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams' 'Lose Yourself To Dance' (here renamed 'Lose Your Elf'), to a chunky dub-house re-imagining of Jimmy Cliff classic 'The Harder They Come' and a loopy, hypnotic, mid-tempo disco-rock revision of T-Rex ('Jewelry'). Throw in party-hearty takes on cuts from Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and the Beach Boys (an odd but impactful reimagining of 'Good Vibrations') and you have a great value compilation.

DJ Butcher - "Music Turns Me On" (Greg Wilson Re-Touch) - (8:11) 136 BPM Hot
Review: By now, we should all know what to expect from re-edit/mash-up/rework specialists Chopshop; namely the kind of sophisticated, floor-friendly concoctions that appeal to both geeks and party-starters alike. This split EP features plenty more material to tickle the fancy of DJs, from the Clav-heavy disco groovery of Ill Advised's "Inside Out" (a smart Odyssey cover) and block party disco-funk of Captain Futuro ("Booty Express"), to the needless-but-fun Indeep cut-up "In The Mix" by Dave Gerrard. Best of all, though, is the fluid re-touch by Greg Wilson of DJ Butcher's "Music Turns Me On", a sweet cut-and-paste effort that's pitched just right.

Review: Following outings on Popular People's Front and Whiskey Disco, Rhythm Plate man Ant Plate brings his YSE Saint Laur'ant alias to Editorial for the first time. As you might expect from a man of his experience, the quality threshold is high, and the source material obscure. He opens with the low-slung, Japanese-influenced, Tom Tom Club style disco-funk of "Bow Legged Robot", before taking things up a notch with the classic disco groove, tight horns and swirling strings of "Keep In Step". There's more classic strings and eyes-closed builds to be found on the superb "When Are You Gonna Land", which benefits greatly from a killer percussive break midway through. Finally, he serves up a delicious chunk of summery jazz-funk/disco fusion on the decidedly breezy, Brazilian sounding closer "The Optimistic Voyeur".

Review: Brooklyn's Razor-N-Tape reach out to the Lowlands and coax Hans Peeman into donning his Junktion alias for a new four-track EP on their Razor-N-Tape Reserve label. Living up to it's dignified and reserved billing, this release on the offshoot finds the Nijmegen-based Peeman laying down some luscious, colourful disco vibes that will brighten up any sun laden afternoon on the terrace. Title track "Hot & Bothered" sets the tone with a summery vibe underpinned by some bumping drums, whilst "I'm wishin'" glides with a subtle house bump and some wonderful vocal touches. "Fling Cleaning" sees Peeman veer off into disco chug territory, whilst "Visions of You" ends the EP on a soulful note.

In The Genes - (8:00) 120 BPM Hot
Love Music - (6:34) 120 BPM
Love Can Set You Free - (6:15) 118 BPM
Review: Long-serving disco-house fusionist Hot Toddy (AKA Crazy P co-founder Chris Todd) is in a loved-up mood on this rather tasty three-tracker. Surprisingly, it's his first solo single for some five years, and his first for House of Disco. It's the breezy, funk-fuelled A-side "In The Genes", in which Todd expertly fuses together elements most often found in proto-house, NYC boogie, early house and disco-funk records, that stands out, though the standard naturally remains high elsewhere. "Love Music", for example, is a wonderfully sauced-eyed stroll through dreamy deep house/disco fusion, while closer "Love Can Set You Free" sits somewhere between stripped-back disco-house, percussive boogie and Idjut Boys style dub disco.

Review: Shir Khan unleashes another thrill-a-minute selection of disco-inspired workouts to get the dancefloor swinging. Bas Roos and Guy Steve kick things off with the good-time breeze of "Piece of Soul", where jazzy electric piano solos and ricocheting vocal samples ride a lolloping disco-house groove, before Freiboitar makes a stomping, French Touch style disco-house monster out of samples from one of the best-loved disco records of all time. Over on the flipside, Claus Caspar and Steve Philips whip their shirts off, reach for the poppers and lay down a stupendous slice of muscular late night disco-house. Featuring heavy, Moroder style arpeggio bass, razor-sharp disco strings and meaty house loops, "Sex Sells" is something of a sweaty party-starter.

Review: Valique is currently neck and neck with Rayko in a furious battle for the title of disco's most prolific re-editor. Here he nudges in front by a nose thanks to another six-track selection of dancefloor-ready reworks. As usual, he adds his magic touch to a range of well loved and lesser-known cuts, kicking off with an undulating, party-hearty extension of David Bowie's "Fame". Stylistically, he keeps things eclectic, variously touching on hazy disco-funk ("Turn That Boogie Loose"), camp disco (the string-drenched, arms-aloft "Going Up"), white boy reggae-pop (a cheery, stretched out rendition of 10CC's "Dreadlock Holiday"), and heavily percussive disco-rock (the subtly house-friendly, filter-rich "You Gave Me Love").

Sameed - "Dusty Jazz" - (5:53) 120 BPM
Review: Since first dropping on wax in the autumn, this multi-artist affair has gone on to be one of Local Talk's most popular releases in years. It's easy to see why. Jamie 326 and Masalo's "Testify" is a fabulously urgent concoction - a low-sling, disco-tinged deep house bomb built around a restless rhythm track, impassioned, gospel style vocal snippets, and killer Clavinet lines. Sameed's dustier, sweatier "Can't U" offers a different slant on the same idea, offering a basement-bothering stomper that utilizes many of the same samples. Finally, the same artist delivers something looser in the shape of deep jazz-house jam "Dusty Jazz".

Review: Given the quality of Session Victim's 2012 debut album, Haunted House of House, expectations are naturally high for this follow-up. Like its predecessor, See You When You Get There takes a widescreen approach to deep house, with the German duo drawing on a myriad of influences, from jazz ("Hey Stranger"), soundtracks ("Crystal Maze") and evocative downtempo beats (the impeccable title track), to Atmosfear-ish jazz-funk ("The Most Beautiful Divorce In The World") and, most notably, classic Balearica (see the druggy pop of "Hyuwee" and deliciously slow "EOS Place". Best of all, though, is "Never Forget", a glorious blues-house epic laden with smoky vocal samples and thrilling piano motifs.

Night Walker (WOOHOO mix) - (6:12) 116 BPM
Review: Jacques Renault and Marcos Cabral's OTP Party Breaks series has always been a reliable source of floor-filling edits and reworks. This installment is arguably one of the strongest releases in the series to date. Cabral kicks things off with his edit of "Latin Box", a formidable chunk of titanium-clad proto-house business that evokes images of sweaty New York basements and Chicago warehouses. Renault continues the theme on his synth-heavy homage to the 'proto' era, "Love Reaction" - all razor-sharp drum edits, cut-up vocal stabs and fierce freestyle synths. Crate-digger and renowned editor Kon provides some sublime loopy disco on "No Mistake", before WooHoo steal the show with the low-slung disco house monster "Nightwalker", a cut-and-paste fusion of elements from familiar (and lesser-known) disco cuts.

Review: Given his encyclopedic knowledge of music, you'd expect any compilation put together by Bill Brewster to be full of unlikely gems and lesser-known anthems. That's certainly the case with After Dark, the first in a new DJ-focused series from the Late Night Tales camp. From start to finish, Brewster's selections are spot on, from the lowdown, slo-mo disco oddness of Sheffield chanteuse Marti Caine's "Love The Way You Love Me" and wide-eyed, acid-laden kosmiche of Coober Peder University Band's "Moon Plain", to the dirty electrofunk of Zed Bias's "Koolade" (featuring Toddla T, of all people) and mid'80s percussion fest of Martin Kershaw's "Keep On Pokin". If that wasn't enough, Brewster has also unearthed a decent Jamiroquai record. The wonders never cease.

Review: If anyone can fuse Q-Tip, Busta and Sister Sledge, it's the Disco Cakes head honchos Defkline and Red Polo. In fact their baking is so sweet they've cooked up two versions; a funk-fuelled disco jam and a swaggering, breakbeat-heavy hip-hop version. Naturally both cuts are so tasty your dancefloor will be munching out of the palm of your hand. Further on we're punched with a bass-battered nu-funk version of Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N Roll" and sweet-talked by the sexy dancehall version of early 90s hip-hop crew K7 on "Come Baby Come". Yummy.

The Get Down - (6:57) 98 BPM
Review: Over the last 12 months, Guildford-based scalpel fiend Evil Smarty has delivered tight, floor-friendly material from Midnight Riot and Wall of Fame, usually in cahoots with Bad Barbie. Here, he goes solo, delivering more gently quantized, house-friendly reworks of lesser-known disco gems. Opener "This Is" is a low-slung disco shuffler turned into a toughened-up house roller, while "Nothing But The Truth" does an excellent job in breathing new life into a celebratory disco-funk party jam, adding thunderous kick-drums whilst retaining the original's attractive haziness. Best of all, though, is "The Get Down", a killer, 98 BPM funk revision that makes great use of the source material's urgent, impassioned vocal, bluesy guitars and wild synthesizers.

Editor-in-chief Valique is the man at the controls, gleefully charging between chunky, bass-heavy Afrobeat goodness (the chant-along heaviness of "Like It Is"), party-hearty deep house/disco-funk fusion (the heavy house beats and toasty electric piano stabs of "Mercy", shirts-off celebratory disco ("Disco Dancer"), swinging, Hammond-rich Philly Soul (Timmy Thomas rework "Got To See You Tonight") and strobe-lit peak-time insanity (the Clavinet-sporting disco rush of "Midnight"). In other words, it's another top-notch selection of club-ready revisions from one of the hardest working editors in the scene.

Don't Stop - (5:42) 122 BPM
Don't Stop (Reprise) - (2:07) 81 BPM
Review: More from Faze Action member Robin Lee's offshoot Andromeda Orchestra project, whose throbbing and forthright releases have previously joined the dots between revivalist disco and the synthesizer-driven world of Italo-disco. In its original form (track three), "Don't Stop" is an authentically produced riff on the K.I.D track of the same name rich in swooping, razor-sharp strings, Clavinet-happy disco grooves and glassy-eyed female vocals. It comes accompanied by a stellar peak-time remix from Lee's old pal Ray Mang - all layered drum fills, swirling noises and jangling piano riffs - and a spacey, beat-free ambient "Reprise". Bonus cut "Kano Line Dance", a funky mid-tempo shuffler that joins the dots between boogie, jazz-funk and P-funk, is also rather tasty.

Review: Absolutely massive package of disco gold from the man like Dimitri here as he's entrusted with the master tapes of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards' most iconic and influential songs and told to do his unmistakable thang. From the original Chic materials to Sister Sledge via Norma Jean Wright, Dimitri takes the blueprint that founded every dance beat that's followed in the last 40 years and gives them a just polish, slight extension and just that little bit of extra dancefloor spice for today's floors. Perfect for everything from home listening to massive arena gigs.
