Review: Italian producer Naviberg has half a dozen or so previous releases to his name, mostly on the IM Electronica label. Here, though, he comes to Spa In Disco's sister label Boite Music with five tracks that fit the imprint's stated musical remit ("the dark side of nu-disco and electronic music, from indie-dance to synthwave") perfectly. 'Figa Spaziale''s long, slow-building intro marks it out as a great set-opener, 'Lasciate Andare' has proggy overtones, while the housier vibe of 'Lento Violente' slowly cedes ground to the more Balearic feel of 'Seduzione' and, in particular, closer 'Trovami Di Nuovo'.

Review: Veteran DJ and producer Nic Fanciulli lands at Hot Creations with his first original material for the label, the aptly titled "You Sure Do" EP. This two-tracker wastes no time showcasing Fanciulli's ability to craft dancefloor bombs that pay homage to the past while sounding fresh and current. The opening track, "YSD," is a full-on disco-infused house anthem. Fanciulli lays down a foundation of massive basslines and a pounding drum groove, creating an atmosphere guaranteed to get bodies moving. The track isn't just a nostalgic throwback, though. Fanciulli's crisp production and innovative sound design ensure "YSD" feels just as relevant on today's dancefloors. Following up, "We R Bass" takes things in a slightly different direction. Here, pulsating kick drums and sharp snares drive the energy, while warped vocal samples and twisting synths add a layer of intrigue. The track builds to a mesmerizing sonic journey, keeping the listener engaged throughout.

Review: Six months on from his Scruniversal label debut, which we rightly waxed lyrical about, sometime Super Spicy and Elephant Chords contributor Nico Cortazzo drops a speedy sequel. Cortazzo hits the ground running with 'My Mom Was Cool', a sample-rich fusion of colourful nu-disco and string-laden disco-house flavours piled high with jazzy guitar licks, kaleidoscopic synth sounds and fuzz-fuelled electronic bass. He opts for a dreamier and smoother sound on the wonderfully saucer-eyed 'Let It Shine', a genuinely brilliant slab of tactile and enveloping deep house bliss. The man's got serious skills!

Review: Odessa's "Private Disco Show" on Bordello A Parigi is a shimmering homage to the forgotten gems of the early 80s disco scene. The track channels the spirit of Montreal's Lime (husband-and-wife duo Denis and Denyse LePage) with its gleaming synth lines and infectious energy. With synth line, cascading chords, bright melodies, and heady harmonies, crisp and clean production, "Private Disco Show" is a surefire floorfiller for anyone who appreciates the driving rhythms and playful energy of classic disco.
