Nick Walker - "Peepshow" - (4:56)
Various - "Another Late Night: Groove Armada" (continuous DJ mix by Groove Armada) - (1:11:07) 126 BPM
Review: 10 years on from its initial release, Groove Armada's contribution to the Anotherlatenight series gets a new lease of life. For those searching for deep, downtempo and vaguely Balearic fare, it's well worth a look. While Groove Armada's mix is enjoyable enough, it's the unmixed tracks that are most worthy of attention. Amongst the familiar classics (Kleer's boogie classic "Tonight", Mr Fingers' "Can You Feel It" and Metro Area's "Muira"), you'll find hot curiosities from the likes of Shuggie Otis (the decidedly acid-fried "Strawberry Letter 23"), Loose Ends ("Feel The Vibe"), Good Together (forgotten super-deep house jam "Work It Out") and Don Ray (the heady disco grooves of "Standing In The Rain").

Get A Life (feat Bobby Womack - Acoustic version) - (3:40) 157 BPM
Review: Nocturnal Activity was released by Mark Rae on Manchester's Grand Central Records, an independent record label back in 2002. It is a remix album, composed of alternative mixes of the tracks from the Sleepwalking LP, plus one new track, a cover version of the Parliament track "Flashlight". It contains some of the labels most sought after tracks. For the dancefloor, The Nextmen remix of "It Aint Nothin Like" is considered a classic. Atjazz turns in a magical remix with Kate Rogers on "Not Just Anybody". Groove Armada went on a weekend break to a country house to flip the Pharcyde's Booty Brown on "Let It Go". However the best is left to last with the fully acoustic version of "Get A Life" with soul legend Bobby Womack.

000 Baby W (Om Unit Remix)
3
000 BABY - (6:36) 109 BPM Hot
OOO Baby (Om Unit remix) - (6:14) 135 BPM
Review: Chinese producer Mr Ho impresses muchly with this release on his own Klasse Wrecks label. '000 Baby' in its Original form is a delightfully diverse concoction that blends ethereal synths, a haunting, lilting female vocal, drums that nod to early 90s street soul, Rastaman shouts, a big fat bassline and, as we get into the second half, lots of pleasing acid squelch. As if that wasn't enough Bristol boy Jim Coles, better known as Om Unit, then gives the track a deep drum & bass makeover that's enough to get the hairs on the back of your neck standing up and no mistake, guv'nor. Top drawer bizniss for sure.

Review: Amazingly, it's 25 years since George 'E.A.S.E' Evelyn and then production partner Kevin 'Boy Wonder' Harper sat down and recorded "Dextrous", their monstrous, bleep-era classic on Warp. A quarter of a century later, Evelyn is still going strong, though the grooves have mellowed a lot in that time. Here, Warp celebrate the producer's epic career with a much-deserved retrospective. All the familiar favourites are present, from the rush-inducing thrill of early dancefloor smashers "I'm For Real" and "Aftermath", to the sinewy downtempo goodness of the decidedly Balearic "Les Nuits", the blazed hip-hop dub of "195 Llbs" and stoner soul of "70s 80s".

Review: Following years spent flitting between labels including Toy Tonics and Razor N Tape Reserve, COEO make their bow on Shall Not Fade. In keeping with the Bristol label's approach to digital releases, it's an expansive and action-packed affair. Title track 'Planet Earth' is one of the Munich-based duo's more forthright cuts to date - a thrusting, bongo-laden techno tempo rave workout propelled forwards by an insanely good (and rubbery) electronic bassline and psychedelic acid lines aplenty - while 'Satellite Bay' sounds like a cross between early '90s synth-pop, Kraftwerk and Euro-dance. Elsewhere, 'Rush Hour' gloriously joins the dots between hip-house, vintage MK productions and the Pet Shop Boys' Relentless' album; 'Kawasaki Racing Club' combines breakbeats and early UK progressive house sounds; and 'The Stage Is Yours' is a head-nodding, midtempo acid breaks affair.

Chaz Jankel & Bill Brewster - "Manon Manon" - (4:56) 89 BPM
Review: The concept behind Bill Brewster's latest 'After Dark' compilation - his first for eight years fact fans - is "low and slow", with the author, DJ and record collector utilising this loose but logical theme to deliver an undeniably eclectic selection of high-grade cuts. The quality threshold remains high from start to finish, as Brewster variously serves up twinkling, jazz-flecked electronica (T.O.E), synth-laden proto-Balearic dreaminess (Island Band), Weatherall-esque dark disco psychedelia (Brewster's Hotel Motel project remixing Jeb Loy Nichols), squelchy nu-disco deepness (Ray Mang dubbing out Khruangbin), acid-flecked revivalist proto-house (Rhythm Plate), little-known, 80s soul era synth-pop (Debbie & The Code), future Balearic anthems (Naill re-editing Gilbert O'Sullivan), saucer-eyed, piano-sporting space house (Gus Patterson) and ultra-deep electro (Carl Finlow).

Turbotito, Ragz & Manjeet Kondal - "Pyaar" (edit) - (3:14) 95 BPM
Review: Billed as a "tribute to the forgotten late '80s/early '90s era of Bhangra influenced by house, dub and hip-hop", this expansive collection boasts fresh remixes of tracks from Manjeet Kondal's 1986 album 'Holle Holle', and a fresh cut featuring vocal samples from that set. Mr Scruff steps up to provide the remixes, offering four passes on 'Ishkaan de Mamie': a deliciously jacking, proto house-meets-acid house full vocal remix that lasts for just a shade under 10 mesmerising minutes, a sleazy and percussive 'Instrumental Dub', an alternative 'Vocal Strip Down' take with added TB-303 tweaks, and a tidy 'Edit'. Turbotito and Ragz deliver 'Pyaar', a brilliant slab of late '80s style Bhangra/hip-hop fusion with added acid lines. The 'Lovey Dubby Dub' is a sensational alternative pass that's arguably better than the duo's original mix.

Tuccillo - "Siroco" - (6:18) 116 BPM
Review: If you thought the first 'Crazy P Curates' compilations was a wild ride, hold on tight because this one is a rollercoaster through the sonic cosmos. 20/20 Vision Recordings continues to deliver musical treasures, and this fourth volume is a testament to the Notts scene stalwarts' commitment to championing tunes that make you move and groove. Kicking off this sonic escapade is the Scandi-disco maestro Ray Mang, weaving his magic with lush cosmic melodies and nu-disco beats that are so loose-limbed, they could moonwalk on their own. Funk alert: this is not your average trip through the cosmos; it's a funkadelic joyride through the galaxy. Next up, Tigerbalm takes us on a detour to a tropical oasis with "Cosmic Union" featuring the enchanting vocals of Joy Tyson. Afro rhythms and steamy vocals bring the heat. Ruf Dug joins the sonic expedition with "Vape Quarter Rhythm," a mind-bending blend of proto-house and dreamy Italo bliss-out. Closing out this auditory voyage is Ibiza's Tuccillo with "Siroco," a signature Balearic gem that's as carefree as cocktails by the sea at sundown. It's the kind of track that makes you want to kick off your shoes, feel the sand between your toes, and let the music carry you away on a sea breeze. The love affair between 20/20 Vision and Crazy P is like a cosmic dance, and this fourth installment is a testament to their enduring relationship.

Review: Valique's V's Edits reworks have long been some of the most popular re-edits on this platform, with DJs responding not only to their floor-friendly nature but also the wide range of sounds and styles he turns his hand to. So, what's on offer this time around? Well, for starters Yellow Blues is raising money for victims of the war in Ukraine, a country to which Valique has family ties. As usual, it's a mixed bag of goodness, with highlights including a squelchy, TB0-303 speckled take on a Johnny Cash classic, the chugging nu-disco/swamp blues fusion of 'Was It Worth It?', a fine revision of Rodrigues classic 'You Can't Get Away', a housed-up tweak of an old Doors gem ('Learn To Forget') and a toe-tapping, club-ready revision of Kenny Rogers' sing-along 'Just Dropped In (to See What Condition My Conidtion is In)'.

Review: For their latest trick, Razor-N-Tape chiefs J Kriv and Aaron Dae have decided to take a trawl through the horizontally inclined parts of the label's bulging back catalogue. "Chill Cuts Volume 2", then, is packed to the rafters with blazed and blunted beats, from the woozy hip-hop deepness of Tall Black Guy's head-nodding rework of Lovebirds' "Icarus" and the bluesy, turn-of-the-millennium downtempo beats of J Kriv and Free Magic's "Eleanora", to the Moon B style slow P-funk revivalism of Kan Sano's "Music Overflow" and the Rhodes and Moog-laced sumptuousness of "Penwick Pool" by POOLS. If it's warm, toasty and laidback dancefloor disco you're after, The Groovers "Make Me Feel" is also well worth a check.

The album starts out in laidback, Balearic mode with Secret Soul Society's 'Draw Of The Cards' and ends up back there with Manolo's 'By The Moon', but in-between you'll find the looping, funked-up deep house of Fran Deeper's 'Lost Baby', the shape-throwing 80s Faltermeyer-isms of Kelton Prima's 'The Beggining', Ilya Santana's floor-friendly cover of Vangelis's 'Dervish D', the electro nouveau of From Beyond's 'Star Slip' and more besides. Review: Danish producer Mads Dalholt is perhaps best known as one-half of Dalholt & Langkilde, whose 2015 album 'Sur Plus' is regarded as something of a classic in Balearic and downtempo circles. Now he comes with his first solo album and shows that he hasn't lost his touch, as he serves up 12 tracks that are laidback without ever getting boring, and mellow without ever getting overly polite or twee. 'Sitarhara' is a particular highlight to these ears with its hazy, subcontinental feel, while elsewhere 'Gui Tabu' evidences Latin influences and cuts like 'Drummer' and 'Jatak' look to African music for inspiration. It all adds up 1 hour 11 minutes of chilled listening that's well worth investigating even if downtempo vibes aren't usually where you're at.

Review: Radio Slave's streak of impressive singles on Rekids continues with the dreamy, Balearic-infused future hit: "Amnesia." A collaboration with Southern Fried Records legend, Cagedbaby, the track weaves an euphoric blend of cascading drum breaks and deeply alluring vocals with a nostalgic overload of searing synths and heart swelling pads. As synthesising some kind of Faithless, Robert Miles, DJ Koze and Groove Armada mega hit with that intangible feeling of bliss and euphoria - it's the melancholia here that's most overt. It's hard to imagine this not self-combusting dancers in closing sets at Ibiza this year.

Review: When Be Svendsen dropped a teaser single for this long-awaited debut album last month, we commented that his productions are becoming far more mature, varied and musically detailed. "Between A Smile and a Tear" emphatically proves our point, shuffling between melodious, mid-tempo Balearic deep house ("Falling"), crackling, jazzy and folksy soundscapes (the brilliant title track), dub disco-influenced wonky synth-pop ("Drop The Gun"), Italo-disco revivalism ("Andromeda"), blissful ambient business (the delightful "Moments"), cosmic rock ("Hazy Eyes") and dewy-eyed, impressively impressive vocal numbers ("October Letters"). In other words, he's finally delivered the album he's been capable of for some time. Don't sleep.

Green Run - (5:04) 101 BPM
Review: Session Victim makes another triumphant return to Delusions of Grandeur with The Intangibles EP, following some noteworthy releases on Toytonics and Rhythm Section International. In the EP's opening track, "Motivation," they team up with Ras Stimulant, a dub-wise microphone man, to create a mesmerizing and intoxicating peak-time loop jam. This track is filled to the brim with irresistible electric piano riffs, vocal snippets drenched in delay effects, jazzy embellishments, and interstellar electronics. Following is "Dromedary Twist" with some winding saxophone lines interweaved with a thick deep house groove, replete with sustained chords and improvised Rhodes motifs. Lastly, "Green Run" lowers the BPMs as the listener enters the realm of lazy, hazy, blissed-out jazzed-up beats. With their style combining live organic elements, fat floor-filling beats, the Germna's duo comes up with comprises three original tracks that traverse the spectrum of high-energy jazz disco meets techno, soulful uplifting house, and downtempo blunted beats.

Review: Earlier this year, Sasha - arguably the original "superstar DJ" - made his live debut at the Barbican, delivering a set to an adoring crowd that blended his recent ambient and soundtrack-inspired work with new interpretations of classic, progressive house-era material. Refracted: Live documents that performance, offering a thoroughly atmospheric trip that gradually moves from chilly, synthesizer-heavy soundscapes and moody downtempo grooves to peak-time dancefloor debauchery. Along the way, there's plenty of impressive musicianship, a pleasing variety of synthesized drum patterns, spine-tingling moments aplenty and a healthy dose of soaring, progressive house style euphoria. Long-term fans will particularly relish the life-affirming re-makes of "Bellfunk" (his 1999 riff on Orbital's "Belfast"), 2002 single "Wavy Gravy" and all-time-classic "Xpander", which fittingly draws the album to a close.

Review: Lee Burridge's celebrated imprint presents the fifth installment in its annual Winter Sampler series, featuring a collection of typically sublime sonic fantasies that exist on the more ethereal fringes of deep house. Whether it's Limara & Dimitri Nakov's deep dive into the exotic that is "Nocturne" (feat Natacha Atlas), Fulltone's sensual vocal cut "Nowhere To Go", Valdovinos' slinky and hypnotic "Extremely In Green" or Atsushi Asada & Hiroyuki Kajino's evocative "Utopia" that takes you on a journey into glacial dub territory - this is absolutely made for dancing on a snowy rooftop in a winter wonderland.

Review: With releases on Redux, Leng, International Feel and Is It Balearic? to his name, Fernando Pulichino's Balearic credentials are not in doubt. It's pleasing, then, to see the sometime 2020 Soundsystem and Silver City member make his bow on Pete Herbert's Music For Swimming Pools label. He delivers a trio of original tracks, beginning with the organ-sporting, bass guitar-propelled mid-tempo warmth of 'Mareas'. He goes deeper and slower still on the sunset soundscape that is 'Venus Banfield', before opting for a more dubbed-out, jazz funk-bass-sporting sound on the gorgeous 'Stations'. Pete Herbert naturally handles remix duties, first delivering a pitched-up, synth-laden nu-disco spin on 'Mareas', before turning 'Stations' into a slow-motion dancing delight.

Review: This impressively expansive collection from experienced remixer Valique showcases some of the best downtempo and Balearic edits from his popular V's Edits series. There's certainly plenty to get the blood pumping and the juices flowing throughout, from a chugging, ten-minute take on Pink Floyd ('Brickwall') and a pleasingly squelchy take on Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams' 'Lose Yourself To Dance' (here renamed 'Lose Your Elf'), to a chunky dub-house re-imagining of Jimmy Cliff classic 'The Harder They Come' and a loopy, hypnotic, mid-tempo disco-rock revision of T-Rex ('Jewelry'). Throw in party-hearty takes on cuts from Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and the Beach Boys (an odd but impactful reimagining of 'Good Vibrations') and you have a great value compilation.

This version also includes a number of exclusive remixes, with names like JD Twitch, Special Request, LFO, Morgan Geist and Loco Dice putting their own spin on this classic material.

Review: Tying down Spanish duo Pig & Dan to one particular style has always been tough. Since first appearing on Submission Records in 2003, they've gleefully flitted between tribal, tech-house, progressive house, progressive trance and techno. Here, they pop up with a double album for Bedrock - their third full-length in total - that harks back to the glory days of baked downtempo grooves. Sure, there are dancefloor excursions - see the dub house of "Magic Wake Up Call" and "Positive Vibrations" - but these are few and far between. Instead, they focus on hazy grooves, dub, ambient, sun-backed trip-hop, humid hip-hop, nu-jazz, ambient and deep breaks, with surprisingly impressive results.

Review: Yorkshire's Ewan Ewan (drum roll!) has relocated to Europe's new capital of electronic music; Berlin, like most ambitious young producers do these days. Despite being on a roll previous to his relocation, there's no doubt that the vibes and sounds of the German capital have rubbed off on him, as clearly heard on his new LP entitled There Is No Right Time. The dusty and lo-fi sounds of hip-hop inspired/disco-fied Berlin deep house are aplenty on this fine EP which covers a wide variety of moods and grooves. Highlights not limited to: the emotive deepness of "10405", the rusty and vintage lo-tech soul of "Waiting For L" or "Left On Lucy" (featuring fellow expat Steve Huerta) and the wonderful "Earnest Kelly" which you could imagine playing during a car chase in an '80s action film.

With a bit of help from disco dons Laid Back they served up some deep and bluesy lounge business on "Walk With The Dreamers" for Copenhagen based Music For Dreams. It now gets a series of great remixes by fellow disco/balearic royalty in the form of the The White Isle's finest: Leo Mas who is joined by fellow Italians Fabrice and Giorgio Li Calzi. We personally preferred the lo-slung balearic goodness of the "Dreamers Dub" which is perfecting for drifting at Cafe Del Mar or Cafe Mambo this Summer on the island.

Review: Timeless (The Remixes) is a celebration of one of the most influential albums in electronic music history. Goldie's seminal 1995 debut, Timeless, is widely regarded as one of the greatest drum and bass albums ever made, and this new collection of remixes pays tribute to its timeless sound. The album features a wide range of remixes from some of the biggest names in drum and bass, including Break, Doc Scott, Teebee, Photek, 4 Hero, and Trevino. Each remixer brings their own unique style to the table, but they all manage to capture the essence of the original tracks. It starts with the classic track "Inner City Life" which has been given a new lease of life with Break's remix featuring heavier and more driving drums, a funky bassline, and jazzy samples. Searchlight bring some lush jazz and broken beats to their remixes of "State of Mind" while Teebee moves into a darker and more driving remix of it. The result is a collection of remixes that is both fresh and familiar. The old school fans will appreciate the classic sound of the original tracks, while the new school fans will be drawn to the innovative new takes on these classic songs.

Review: For the uninitiated Khruangbin is a three-piece band outta Texas formed of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald Johnson on drums. Taking influence from 1960s Thai funk - think surf rock, psychedelica and Tarantino soundtracks - their name literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai. With a storied history so far with a bevy of albums on Late Night Tales sister label Night Time Stories, including this year's Mordechai LP, the trio have earned their right to contribute to the much loved LateNightTales mix series. With their cover of Kool & The Gang's "Summer Madness" an exclusive feature of the mix, you'll also find their number "A Calf Born in Winter' included in Bonobo's LateNightTales contribution from a years ago now. Across Khruangbin's selections most interestingly though is their global bent of taste that takes in Asian pop and Nigerian reggae to Latina inspirations, Hindi-disco and South Korean rock to an atmospheric banjo rendering of Erik Satie's 'Gnossienne'. Highly recommended.

Late Night Tales: Floating Points (continuous mix) - (1:17:29) 80 BPM
Review: The latest instalment in the long-running 'Late Night Tales' series has been curated by experimental beatsmith and jazzbo Floating Points. Sarah Davachi's opener 'Untitled' sets the tone: essentially seven minutes of a single modulating synth chord, it's an early warning that this is no cobbled-together collection of 'chill-out' tunes destined for Top Shop's in-store soundsystem, but instead a journey to some of downtempo music's more far-out fringes, where you'll find straight-up soul and jazz nestled up alongside 70s agit-folk, flotation tank ambience, experimental electronica and more. It might all be a little dense and daunting for the uninitiated, but Floating Points fans will lap it up.

Review: On Scene Delete, Sasha has decided to flip the script, jettisoning his usual progressive-leaning club fare in favour of original productions that wallow in their largely beatless, ambient nature. In some ways, it's a surprise move, but in others, it makes perfect sense; his DJ and production style has always emphasized atmosphere and texture, making it perfectly suited for the ambient genre. Musically, Scene Delete has some genuinely superb moments, with the obvious Eno, Yokota, Namlook and Reich influences joined by nods to obscure new age records, early synthesizer pioneers and, on a couple of occasions, the glitchy IDM of Autechre.

Review: You'd expect a compilation curated by open-minded DJ/producer Hunee to be eclectic in nature, and Hunchin' All Night is just that and more. Marketed simply as "a collection of his favourite dancefloor cuts from the '70s until modern time", the compilation set is packed with obscure and inspired jams in a variety of styles. Compare, for example, the gentle but tribal rhythms and new age synthesizers of Carlos Maria and Nuno Canavarro's "Blue Terra" with the glistening, mid-80s Balearic jazz-funk brilliance of Stanislas Tohon's "Owhaaou" (as re-edited by French digger Raphael Top-Secret), or even the Clavinet-heavy Highlife brilliance of Pat Thomas's "Yesu San Bra Disco Hi Life". And that's before we get to the acid-flecked techno madness of Villa Abo and Hunee's wonderfully dreamy and dubbed-out pulse of Mappa Mundi's "Trance Fusion".

Review: Earthboogie - aka London soundsystem owners Izaak Gray and Nicola Robinson - make their wax debut with three raw, groove laden disco blends. Digging deep into both afrofunk and Italo roots, there's a universal musical language that grabs you physically across all three cuts. "Mr Mystery" sits between Booker T & The Mgs and Daniele Baldelli while "Route Ten To Interzone" is an energetic township jam with added synth sheen. Finally we're seduced by the Balearic weaves, ripples, twangs and horns of "The EB Theme". A rainbow of vibes from start to finish, this one's hard to put down.

Review: On paper, this collaboration between celebrated Italian producer DJ Tennis and long-serving Ninja Tune stalwart Fink is an unlikely one. In reality, though, it works really well. Fink's melancholic, heartfelt vocals and gentle piano lines are a perfect foil for Tennis's gentle, soft touch house groove and dusty audio textures (see the superb, nine-minute Club Mix). The accompanying remix package is rather good, too. There's a sumptuous, string-laden ambient revision from OPUS 3000 that's worth the entrance money on its own, a rolling but spacey deep house revision from Lee Jones, a brilliant chunk of dark and moody electronica from Mentrix and a club-friendly tweak by The/Das that sounds a little like early Floating Points crossed with skewed outsider house.

Review: "Wanna Be Free" by Boogie Brothers vs Secret Soul Society is a disco house track that features a catchy vocal sample, a funky guitar riff and a disco beat. The track has a classic and uplifting vibe, as well as some modern and fresh elements. The EP also comes with a dub mix that strips away the vocals and adds some synth stabs and effects. "Wanna Be Free" is a fun and groovy release that showcases Boogie Brothers and Secret Soul Society's talents, and yet another great release on Citizens Of Vice.

Review: Last year, Jamal Moss in conjunction with percussionist and producer Sarathy Korwar (Ninja Tune/The Steve Reid Foundation) and the highly respected British saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings recorded a live and improvised session at the iconic Lightship95 studio, moored at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London. Two and a half hours of music was recorded across two sessions, with 90 minutes streamed live via NTS Radio. Technicolour now present a 12" EP comprising of four edits from these sessions titled 'Association For Research & Enlightenment Project'. The deep analogue tribalism of "The Doctrines Of Swedenborg" is truly magical and is geared for some real tunnelling effects. The lush ambience of "Dimensions Of Frequency & Vibrations" on the flip was a highlight too, awash in celestial synths and evocative saxophone solos, accompanied by Korwar's drumming reaching near tribal moments.

Review: Automat's fifth album ignites a musical blaze with Heat. This offering from the Berlin-based band marks a departure from their previous works, embracing a more unified, warmer, and rounded sonic. The title-track seamlessly weaves together intimate dub, resonant basslines, intricate delays and some deep blue trip-hop alongside some velvety down-tempo ballads with, of course, some reggae and wax lyrical influences throughout. The album embodies a transformative process, not just in its lineup changes, but in the newfound energy and passion it exudes. With the addition of keyboardist Max Loderbauer, producer Ingo Krauss, and the brilliant contributions of Scott Montieth (Deadbeat), singer Barbie Williams, and guest vocalists Gemma Ray, Prince Alla, and R Zee Jackson - Automat's evolution is nothing short of stunning, making Heat a beautifully crafted opus that runs like a finely tuned machine.

What a project it is as well, from the smooth celestial synthesis of 'Above' and 'Deer' to the more dubwise influenced rolling percussion of 'So I Smoke' and 'Dragon Love'. Our highlights for this project however have to be the unpredictable yet incredibly smooth sounds of 'Blur', along with the sumptuous dubby switch ups and tumultuous sub pressures of 'Deer Dub'.

Review: Described as a clean-cut all-American pedal steel guitarist, and member of the country-tinged Mojave 3 outfit on 4AD, Raymon Richards has an epic discography to be discovered. Introduced to the leftfield, house and disco loving community through ESP Institute, the label champions Richards' new age twang and ambience of through The Lost Art Of Wandering. Largely an ambient affair of finger picked guitars, harmonicas and percussion, all lathered in gorgeous reverb and delay, there's still some drum machines and rhythm tracks to be found in "Roslyn, Washington", "Fossil, Oregon" and deep into "Tucson, Arizona". The Lost Art Of Wandering is an all-American affair and ode to the lonely roads and rolling tumbleweeds of dreamland's wild west.

Review: It's some 17 years since Ian Pooley released Since Then, his third and arguably finest full-length excursion. As this first reissue proves, the set has lost none of its' warm and sunny attractiveness in the years since. While cuts such as "Coracao Tambor" and "900 Degrees" got plenty of club plays at the time, it's the German producer's versatility that shines through loud and clear. Amongst the sunny house treats, you'll find cuts that doff a cap to disco, hip-hop, samba, jazz-funk and the then popular San Francisco style of blazed deep house. For this edition, Pooley has also gathered together some of the best remixes of album tracks released in that period, including strong rubs from Faze Action, Tom Middleton, Sheffield survivors Swag and Mood 2 Swing man John Ciafone.

Review: Trip-hop/downtempo veterans The Deadbeats return with what by our reckoning is their sixth album, and their fifth on their own Space Hopper label. 'Butter Notes' opens with the Massive Attack-esque 'I Don't Believe' - all luxuriant strings and looping rap vocal snips - then moves on through six more slices of prime mid-paced chillage, blending influences from Balearica, broken beat, lo-fi hip-hop and funk before concluding with the suitably epic and expansive 'Am I Eternal'. If you've enjoyed any of their previous albums you're highly likely to enjoy this one as well, with the standout for this reviewer being 'Dark Forest', which adds some dubby flourishes to what it otherwise a fairly standardised blueprint. Still, if ain't broke, etc...

Review: At 14 tracks large trance master Chicane's eighth studio album has arrived in the shape of Everything We Had To Leave Behind. Maintaining an uplifting & melancholic approach to his production, Chicane's classic trance chords are as always undeniable throughout this latest work while still touching on that late-90s-to-mid-2000s pioneering sound. The LP brings with it the Ibiza sunset croons of vocalist Joseph Aquilina (Goldfish) who's voice more often than not challenges the timbres of one Chris Martin. Exploring various drum patterns across numbers like the breakbeat "Make You Stay" or the skipping UK funky of "Sailing", get your housier, pop and balearic trance from "One Foot In The Past, One Foot In The Future" and "Hello, Goodbye". For more classically inclined fans, those trusted bouncy chords, breaths and beats can be found all the more in "Juno", "Don't Look Down", the album's beatless title-track, and exclusive Chicane cover version of Bon Iver's "8 (Circle)".

Review: Being in the game for over 15 years, Sebastian Kloft has a vast discography. A longtime stalwart of the Mobilee label, until spreading his wings and leading to some of his most creative and exciting output thus far. His vinyl only label Scenario has had releases from top producers such as Ian Pooley, DJ Honesty, Jus Ed, Dan Curtin and DJ Deep. Moreover the Berlin native's continual rise includes releases on Bass Culture, Robsoul Recordings and Tsuba. Which leads us to Sebo K's debut on Matt Edwards' esteemed Rekids imprint - which 'exhibits a refreshing sound from the established artist' and we couldn't agree more! The album is possibly a tribute to the many phases of electronic music he has lived through. The dubby breaks driven '90s electronica on "Paradigm Change" is reminiscent of Future Sound Of London or Sabres Of Paradise. "Messier 78" with it's sensual elements and rumbling sub-bass is like jazzy drum & bass from the same era: just minus the Amens. Elsewhere, "Xhale" channels the spirit of his hometown heroes Cabinet Recordings (namely the acid energy of the legendary Lemon8), while "Transitions" with its emotive and soulful tones channels the British IDM sound of early Peacefrog or Planet E.

Review: Elation, nostalgia and melancholy have always been the driving emotional forces behind the high-grade lo-fi deep house works of Adam Ansley AKA DJ Poolboi. It's for this reason that Shall Not Fade has picked up Ansley for the debut release on the label's new Classic Cuts series, which focuses on "feel good sounds of all styles, with a nostalgic edge". The Austin-based producer has naturally hit the brief. Opener 'Ghosts' is a bluesy chunk of lo-fi jazz-house/deep house fusion, while the track that follows, 'Tu Tienes Mi Carazone', is a wonderfully tactile chunk of breakbeat-driven deep house. With its twinkling pianos, bongo-laced deep house grooves and heart-aching vibe, 'Elope' reminded us of old Aqua Bassino jams on F Communications, while 'Before You Go' is ultra-deep, smooth and spacey.

Often immersive, dreamy and melodic, the set sees the Portuguese producer and sometime Cr?me Organization artist expertly combining elements of deep house, breakbeat, broken beat, electro and acid on a series of spacey, ear-catching cuts. This hybrid style is probably best epitomised by the bubbly slow acid number 'She Took Me To Her Favourite Club', the shuffling deep house melancholy of 'Always By Your Side' and the chunky-but-intergalactic sounding brilliance of 'Liquid Serotonin', but to be honest all eight tracks are excellent.

Review: Arriving on Shall Not Fade is new school producer Kilig that hits a hot streak of releases now following previous outings on Soundtracking The Void and Origins Sounds. Deftly fusing subtle touches of trance and new age synth with classic UK dance styles in numbers like "Clocking In" and "Without You" get your more forthright drum and bass / jungle tracks from "I Wanted To Call & Tell You". A highlight production comes through the mellow sounds and relaxing groove of "Closer" with higher tempos and deeper, Burial-like atmospheres coming through "Overthinking" only to be cooled down by subtle strings and distant echoes of R&B vocals.
