Review: Another dark side killer from the Horizons camp here, which comes in form of a four-part, multi-artist release. Kicking off with Amoss' "Recycle" it's all ominous from the outset with a cinematic intro paving the way for gritty, tech-ed up track with booming subs. Sunchase & Nickbee's "Recycle" is another screwface affair with glowering bass and ticking beats, whilst Halogenix gets experimental in Rockwell-esque "Tender Chain". Amoss' "Footlose" gets the remix treatment for the final part of the EP - a superb interpretation by Octane & DLR & Linden. Get to know!
Review: Broken Audio are back with a gigantic various artists EP, consisting of four of drum & bass heavyweight producers. Anile, Genotype, Insight and Notion & Nusense all appear on the bill as this dark and brooding release kills it with healthy servings of hazy atmospherics and rapid percussion. These will smash every stereo or soundsystem it touches.
Review: Clawhammer let rip into 2016 with a deadly dail-turning cranking collection. As always with Jamah and Carl-Lee's imprint, it's an uncompromised affair with focus squared strictly on the darker side... First up, Aweminus & Danger pay homage where it counts on "Get Ya Respect" while Indiekai's "Monsta Skank" jumps wildly on some fine-tuned two-steps and a slippery alien bassline. Bou's "Bounty Bar" is the quirkiest jam of the set with its old school pads, sirens, JB-style soul cry, warhead shakers and off-beat squelcher bassline while Nightfang lays down a "Work For Nothing" style halftime workout. Finally Dub General provides the roller of the set with a bullet-busting groaner. Shots fired!
