Review: If you've been to the D&B motherfest that is Let It Roll you will already understand the gravity of this situation... The Czech festival's showstopping opening show tradition levelled up this year by recruiting an entire troupe of A-list heavyweights to score its spectacular show. From the opening sirens of Abis's launch track "Battlecry" to the final harmonic synth echoes of The Prototype's "Infinite", this is an epic celebration of drum & bass at its most technical, dramatic and theatrical. Other highlights include the sudden twist in Mefjus's rolling tale "The Chase" and the rush caked euphoria of Muzzy's "Photons". The portal awaits...

Review: A truly delightful EP here from36 Hertz, "The Aztec Bass EP" celebrates a wealth of talent from the label, including such names as Acuna, DJ Hybrid, SR & Digbee and Ricky Force. Kicking things off with "Don't Need Your Love Baby" by Acuna and the spaced out intro switches into a synth driven, vocal hook and ensuing drop which is full of rattling metallic beats. DJ Hybrid's "I Get Mash Up" carries on with its bellowing bass and uplifting, polished vocal sections, before we move on to SR & Digbee's "Morning Strummer". Here things get a bit more rough and dirty on a Wilkinson-style tip before last but not least Ricky Force brings things to a close with the driving bass of "Setbacks".
Review: Nuusic's MC-championing Dub Culture series heats up with two absolute donnies... Fresh from his debut album Bad From Morning, Sub-liminal bossman Agro tags in one of the UK's biggest and most respected MCs Riko Dan for this mean and murky tear-up 'Warlord'. Powered by a full-throttle turbine bassline and spacious, swinging breaks, there's plenty of room for Riko's war talk as the track gets heavier and heavier as it builds. Complete with an instrumental for added mixing creativity, Nuusic smash the jacksy off this once again.
Review: Just when you thought things couldn't get any spicier, Agro and DJ Hybrid's Riko Dan fronted 'Hot Pepper' gets some extra sauce from man-of-the-moment Objectiv. Stripping things back to a warm rubbery bass shot and swaggering beats that leave plenty of space for Riko's bars. The rap too hot for your sensitive soul? Then jump on the dub where that big emotional breakdown takes the full focus. Fans of The Sauce and Alibi will be all over this.
Review: Time for something spicy as this dream team collabo comes together for some out-and-out jungle fire. Agro, DJ Hybrid and Riko Dan on bar duties... this can only bring flames! Rapid bassline funk, even harder bars and beats that singe every whisker north of your neck, this has been a huge bubbler for all concerned all summer, now it's yours. Complete with an instrumental if you can't handle the heat! What a banger.
