Review: Having cut his production teeth on the festival roaming scene that encompasses psy-trance and its affiliate sub genres, Rain has turned his attention to developing a dubstep influenced sound under the Phutureprimitive alias. Now a second album deep into the Phutureprimitive project, Kinetik still retains sly nods to his roots as Rain, be it the glossy synth washes, crafty edits or thick layers of sonic detail that accrue atop the bass line across the ten track set. There's an undeniable studio trickery demonstrated by Phutureprimitive throughout and on tracks such as "The Changeling" and "High Rez" his capacity to mould ideas old into new shapes works with aplomb.

Review: A wonderful fusion of flavours here from Rudebrat who touches on genre of the moment Trap, plus moombahton, drumstep and dubstep across this four-track Lunar EP on Simplify Recordings. Kicking off with the much-hyped "Eastern Riot" cut, it's all chopped up rhythms, squeaking synth bleeps, bass womps and stuttering percussion for the duration. "Whiskey Dream" channels a gratuitously warping dubstep vibe with cheery melody a-top; then title track "Lunar" is a fun party piece with warping synths, soaring melodies and smacking snares before "Villain" brings the EP to an end.
