Review: Next up from eatmybeat, a vibrant collection of percussive-driven rollers from the one and only D-Nite, showcasing his crazy ability with some top level production skills. We open up with 'Ominous Arrival', a fluctuating combination of high energy rhythms and subtle vocal samples, followed by both the industrial synth thumps of 'Sine DNA' and arpeggio-lead soundscaping of 'Circular' to follow. From here we then move into the highly unique title track 'Ai Amor', a glorious roll through samba-style drum patterns and catchy vocal slices, followed by the bleeping synth sweeps of 'Amargo' to close off. Awesome work!

Review: Drumsound and Bassline Smith's mainstream D&B assault is well worth watching. Applying catchy pop sensibilities to their tonked-out bottom-heavy technique, they're nipping at Fresh and Sub Focus's heels with real determination. Remix-wise we see Northern Lights throwing down a big dubstep vibe that sizzles and snarls with metallic menace while Tantrum Desire switches up for a speedy spliced and diced technicolour D&B version. Big.

Review: Oh gosh... Having shaken and stirred Wu Tang Clan and Pink Floyd already this year, 6Blocc now gets stuck into a big old pile of Portishead. Maintaining the Bristol band's icy, introspective, deep burning barbed soul throughout, his twists and turns are well considered and highly respectful; the additional vocal textures and digidub bass to "Glory Box", the Full Cycle flare of his jungle mix of "It Could Be Sweet", the Final Conflict style 1990 breaks on "Machine Gun", the sub aquatic halfsteppery of "Mysterons", the feather-ruffling drums on "Wandering Star"... 6Blocc has dissected each tune to re-position its magic for a new generation. You'd be a Dummy not to check them (not sorry).

Review: Didn't see this one coming: 6Blocc and Uome's dubstep project has appeared dormant for a good five years before they suddenly return with a full album of denters, hurters and sweet, sweet steppers. Most of which bring us up to speed on their original repertoire but there's a fair whack of unreleased cuts, too. Old or new, there's one consistency: Hoodz tap into the original dubstep ethos with ta strong sense of authenticity, jungle attitude and dark, pensive funk. "Bad Mind" rolls with a Eek-A-Mouse style vocal dynamic, there's a strong sense of Horace-level harmony on "The $", the sudden wash of jazzy chords on "Jungle Vision", the raw roughage of "Kong" and jaw-breaking bleakness of "Uppercut".

Review: Fresh from his rampant jungle and breakneck breakbeat excursions, LA vibe infuser 6Blocc takes respite in his dungeon for a series of deeper dub jams. Ranging from the super-minimal, slimy-walled sludge of "Dark Side" to the ricochet-rhythm and MC-peppered dynamics of "Illusion" via the steppier militancy and spoken word weirdness of "Wake Up Call" and the pure titanium rhythm of "Break & Eliminate", it's 6Blocc at his deepest and darkest. And yet more evidence of his versatility.

Review: Last spotted messing with the Wu, 6Blocc takes us even further back in time for his own dub side of the moon. A true Floydian odyssey rebooted for the modern bass lover, subtly is the name of 6Blocc's game: the paranoid, way-ahead-of-its-time "Run" gets a lick of 303 and swinging breakbeat, "Speak" retains all its dreamy majesty while the iconic moans and cries of "Sky" are stretched out from midnight fumble to 24-hour marathon. Elsewhere the till-chiming riff of "Money" is smothered in blankets of sub while "Colour" is galvanised with a classic Dig Your Own Hole era big beat. To some this may err on heresy, but to others this is a trip like no other. See you on the other side.

Review: Jolly jokers of the bass music world, Hot Cakes, go in on Duck Sauce's smash hit single of September 2010 "Barbara Streisand" and transform it into a more recognisably British household name, the tongue-in-cheek ditty "Barbara Windsor". Sensproof gives it a good dose of dubstep on the remix, with frantic Doctor P style screeches and synth manipulations to test even the rowdiest and rambunctious of teenagers. KL2 & PuRe SX then provide us with a breaks remix which pairs a stern, pumping beat with the ubiquitous, catchy vocal hook of the title and some hyped up edits along the way.

Review: Reading's Jook 10 has been quiet since rustling up his album Darkside last year. Having heard this new four tracker, he's clearly been broadening his listening habits and finding ways to fuse these new ideas together. Of course at the heart of the "Hypa EP" it's all about the 4 x 4/UKF/wobble vibes, but he also incorporates stark techno on the title track, heavy tropical percussion on "Strike" and creepy synth atmospherics on EP highlight, the menacing "Trolls".

Review: Ragga, dubstep and breakbeat come together nicely on this new release from Irish production duo Dirty Dubsters. "Martin Luther Dub" makes for a sinuous and snakey start to the EP, thanks to its almost acidic bass leads, while "True Champion" brings in the rootsy fire and dancehall flavours over a sparse half-steppin' beat.

Review: Evil thoughts... Even though most of us never admit to it, we all have them. LJ certainly does. And he's more than happy to testify. In fact these sonic confessions are as sinful as it gets. "Gravity" is the most evil of the set: droning, paranoid and fuelled by rolling percussion, it's dark, demonic and wholly unique. Elsewhere we find ourselves slapped back to garage's proto dubstep days with "Adamantium", where tight rolling kicks and an infectious belching bass pattern cause a tangible sense of physicality. "Confusion" is an LFO-ridden web of overlaying radar hooks and strident strings, while the title track rolls on a moodier, more spacious, hypnotic flex. Each one delivered with distinction, this is unashamed food for evil thoughts.

Review: Sheffield's Jay Gee Grime unleashes eight boundary-breaking instrumentals that are just waiting for some MCs to do some damage. Leaping from vibe to vibe, at one moment we're jamming and jumping to firing horn-heavy two-step ("Stand Down X Hand Stand"), the next we're getting our lo-fi glitchy skank on ("Laffy Taffy"), the next we're taking a trip into outer space on trap-powered bass rockets ("Sizzlurpe"). Genre-smelting explorations don't get much sharper than this, JG has cooked up quite a package right here.

Review: Beatcamp badman P Jam flexes some serious fire on this feisty five tracker for Project Allout: "Spaz Out" is all about the heavily layered percussion and bass drama, "Liquid Adrenaline" investigates the exciting period when garage, breaks and dubstep first fused over a decade ago, "Juice" is a much jauntier affair with a fractured staccato riddim and paranoid stabs, and "Cheeseberry" is 100 per cent aggression as angular edits slamdunk each other with raw, techy grit. "The Beckoning" closes the show with a series of sniper-precision breaks and smoggy subs. Not a dull moment, you best do as the EP title suggests...

Highlights include the unique blend of psychedelic twists and slamming breakbeats on "Basesick", the classic electro motifs and icy hooks on "Blood Red Hunger", the harrowing synth stutters and booty-slapping riddim on "Talisman" and the concentrated savagery of "Teardown". Review: Brighton's Moony is all about fine UK dance music, and whether it's shuffling garage mayhem or two-step bass delight, the end product is always all about quality. This time he comes through with a whole remix EP of his "Ballin" track, and he's brought along a rather special bunch dance misfits. The original mix is a dubby broken beat number, and our choice picks from the remixes are P Jam's killer garage version and Notion's bass-driven driller-thriller - one to stir a few heads along the way. Strong look from Moony.

Review: Razor-sharp grime chops and edits, big bulbous subs and cheeky jungle samples all play a major role in this dark slice of contemporary jungle from up-and-coming British bass conjurer J 69. For added beef in the beat department jump straight on the bolshy, breaky Dubzta remix. For more of a paranoid late '90s garage feel get to know the Trends remix. For old school iciness head over to Sir Pixalot's remix. For madcap midrange bass nastiness and mischievous 4/4 garage vibes, it's all about Spooky's rub, while LJ complete the set with a jugular-aimed stepped-out vibe that's wholly complementary to J 69's awesome original.

Review: MoJoe and Chemist RNS release their first full EP and each track is such a stern lesson in instrumental grime heaviness Grime Disciple has compared them to war dubs. We kick off with the title track. All double kicks and bass hits that pour over the drums so fast they pour over each side, it's a mesmerising mess of low end messages. "2099" is a future-focused shot of sharpness; Eski-beats at full effect, it's just as much garage or breakbeat as it is grime. "Moon Base" tells a dark tale of alien invasions over the jugular-punching break and ominous subs while we climax with the demonic tones and far-away drum spaciousness of "No Guy Test". Hungry? You won't be once you've feasted on these.

Review: Fresh talent Addministro arrives on Project Allout with "Alert", showing himself to be a producer steeped in classic grime and UK funky, with a track whose power hinges on its raw bassline, 8-bit chirps and broken rhythms. Huge remix support is offered; Spooky turns in a sparse eski-inspired version with devastating subs and sirens, Trends and P Jam turn in jungle-inspired heaters. Our picks however are Moony's massive re-rub that pairs huge breaks with halfstepping action and Sir Pixalot's 8-bit version which sounds like an NES cartridge gone bad.

Review: Need reminding of the old adage "variety is the spice of life"? Then have a word with young Sketch-E here. He's given four reasons why one should never sit still. In the studio or elsewhere in life. "Rise" takes a classic Eddie Amador vocal and gives it a neck-snapping two-step breakbeat bash-up while "Whiplash" is more a classic swaggering grime instrumental, just crying for an MC. "Flare-Up" whisks us back to the TCR glory days when breakbeat was still nu-school. Finally "Gasconade" finishes us an madcap, squelch-bass jam that tips a nod to Zinc's early "138 Trek". And we don't go throwing round Zinc comparisons liberally.

Review: Battle-bound gutter grime: "Ardcore" shows Mr Dubz at his heaviest and hard hitting. A punishing riddim track surges forth, coated in an array of screaming, savage bass elements. Complete with a well-executed, tightly-edited vocal, it's crying for some heavyweight MC action. Remix-wise all flags are flown: Filthy Vicars mix up a two-steppy brew, Hi5 Ghost looks back to the likes of Altern-8 and LFO for inspiration, Dubzta gets strung out with a series of stabs so sharp they'll shave the skin off your ears and Juzo serves up the ugliest, most uncompromising mix. Hardcore indeed!

Review: Project Allot is both unstoppable and inimitable in its choice of new artists; the label seems to continuously pick up new and exciting talent from around the globe, and this latest debut from the enigmatic Dutty Tingz is no exception. The leading track, "Wardub Master" kicks this banging extended EP into motion with a sort of grime sensibility that we don't hear enough of these days, and "Epicentre" builds on that momentum with a stepping belter of a groove that'd make the likes of Plastician proud. "Gas Wars" heads closer to the traditional dubstep wobble, while "Gunshot Riddim" does exactly what it says on the tin - except the bullets are made of mutant bass instead of metal, thankfully. "Nightmare Riddim" strays further down the wormhole thank to a sinister landscape of sonics, and "Criminal District is all rifles in the air again, as Dutty Tingz marks his style and pace, giving us a taster of what's to come from the producer.

Review: Fresh from coughing up "Green Phlegm" all over the dance last summer, J Beatz returns with deep sea scudder. All synth horns and rifle snares, like its namesake, this is capable of going deep deep deep in the mix and it won't rust for decades to come. Remix-wise Project Allout have spoilt us with highlights coming from Spooky (twisted metal crunching sounds), Deadbeat UK (speed garage vibes) and Dubzta (uptempo rippage). Powerful.

Review: Sitting somewhere between garage and grime, Welsh bass herbert Dubzta picks up the strings to create that tense horror film hook he's swiftly making his signature. 4/4 at heart but casually dropping into a more eski template on the fills, it's waiting for MC damage. Remix-wise Project Allout's finest represent: Dr Cryptic gets plain silly, Juzlo goes deeper than usual with a smoky halftime step, Pavv gets all strutty with speed garage beats and a mourning hollow bassline, Frampster lays down a short sweet breaker while J Beatz sprinkles the vibe with a little wavy dynamic or two.

Review: Bristol is surely now the UK's official home of bass, and here comes the city's latest export Pharoah K: a producer and drummer who's definitely going places fast. He's been preparing this new EP for a while and it shows in the expert attention to detail. There are four well-crafted jams here with the title track - all deep synths and ghetto bounce - leading the charge. Elsewhere 'Duke" lays on the orchestration to great effect, "Swamp Five" delivers eccentric, scattershot beats and lastly "Arms" is an arms-in-the-air carnival jam.

Review: Mr Dubz is back y'all, coming right at you with some sleazy strip club booty shakin' bass for urban freaks, as clearly demonstrated on the bombastic "The Dragon". Next up "Shadow" is a far more serious affair; this kind of dubstep rolls not just deep but pretty dark as well. There's no more kush inspired nightmares again, rest assured; "Twister" crosses over from bass music into trance with its rapid arpeggios and uplifting brass section with an undeniable gangsta feel about it which we thought was tight!

Review: With a title as strong as "Armageddon" there should be no illusions as to what to expect: end of days' drama full of doom and seat-of-pants fear. Naturally Dubzta has delivered. His fourth EP on Project Allout this year, there's a great sense of momentum to this in both its dynamic and timing. Big Zimmer-ish orchestral theatrics coupled with massive bass, it's an instant show-stopper. Remixes highlights come thick and fast; Spooky's drum switch, Big Mikee's addition of hench synth horns, Creep N00M's unique rhythm arrangement, J Beatz' crafty sense of funk in the kicks, Levlz filtered out string trickery and Hoax Beatz' grime-style two-step momentum. If this really is the soundtrack to the end of the world, bring it on.

Review: Project Allout continue to unearth and represent fresh talent. This time it's in the form of Manchester's Joe Browne AKA Riknor who's furrowed six deep paths into the murkiest sides of the dance right here. Highlights include the funked-out breaks of "Gangsters" that suddenly stretch out into something much more sinister, the spiralling paranoid bass cascades of "16 Bars Of Hell", the far-east-far-out twangs and skitty kick rolls of "China Plate" and the groaning, almost metallic cries on "Game Over".

Review: KXVU is a proud sponsor of the whole West Country bass-grime lineage, and his smoking productions have caught the attention of Project Allout, undisputed leaders in the game these days. "Ragnarok", the lead track, is a pure 2002 grime melter that's full of wobble and dread, and "Warg Rider" isn't exactly any less nasty. "Hellheim" is a stop-start slice of grey-scaled dubstep with a bouncy edge, and "Nilfheim" blasts those grime horns out with mighty fury and plenty of vengeance. Dirty, nasty, curbside business.

Review: Hammer horror vibes: Dubzta takes us back to dubstep darker, gritty side with a staccato riff that marches with a few sense of doom. Laced with arpeggios and far-away cries, it's an instant screwface piece for any discerning dance. Remix-wise we're in for a treat as Project Allout provide no less than six versions. Highlights include Creep N00m's retained riff and subverted textures, the detuned tones and melodic twist of Filthy Gears' remix and the humour of John Brown The Rebel's version. Ice cold.

With such heavy ammo who is foolish enough to try and resist? Not us, and if we really had to pick, some of our favourites would be Adam Mac's doomy, empty rainy street vibes on the haunting "Cold Side", the accelerated, pinged up, soulful 4 x 4 banger "Deep" by Deadbeat UK and the percussive dancehall infused synth bass monster, "Likkie Vibez" by Juzlo. Setting the message straight with its spacious halfsteps and alien textures, once again there's an otherworldly feel that both allures and un-eases. Those hungry for a real wild trip should jump straight on "The Zoo" with its 4/4 thumps and animal samples. Remixes come from Reeko West and Pavv. Sweet.

Review: For Welshman Dubzta it seems to be one Project Allout release after the next, which is kind of a big deal if you factor in that this is one of the most effective bass labels on our charts these days. He's back with a one mega-hit bomb "Fight Club" which, as you can imagine, packs a mean punch on the old bassweight, and has absolutely no problems in standing out as the sort of bomb to annihilate the dancefloor. That is followed up by a series of highly effective remixes from the likes of Filthy Gears, who lays down a nasty juke reinterpretation for the heads, Mr Dubz and his d&b-grime crossover, Dallen's sci-fi-filtered bass nuke, leaving Jocatanu and John Brown to deliver two final bullets to the head. This is hazardous material. Beware.

Review: Multi-personality man of the moment: Swedger (AKA Ardeer AKA Skagden) steps over to Project Allout for a deliciously wavey slice of instrumental grime. Flexing melodic muscles, none of his rich low-end is lost as we fly through his dreamy almost Oil Gang or Terrorhythm style narrative. As always with Project Allout, remixes hit every spot from every corner: Dubzta gets his tropical pipes out, Cleaverhype plays ping-pong with trippy ricochets and gully switches, Dutty Tingz inject worlds of roominess into the groove while Hexy busses up more of a growl in the bass and strings in the feels. Supersized.

"Polar", for instance, is a dutty, curbside bombshell which bounces elegantly to and fro with its playful bass tones, and is further twisted into oblivion by two remixes from the one like Dubzta. "Arctic" is even more lethal, shooting off a toxic spray of gun-toting bass and wacky grime aesthetics like the good old days; killer remixes from Dutty Tingz and Dubzta on the tail-end. BAD.

This is dark and dirty street level UK underground music."Ganjaman" is the ultimate party starter with its pitch shifted vocals, hands in the air chant and that killer bassline, but the Dubzta remix takes it down a notch in a more grimy fashion. "The Realm" ventures deeper into the darkside on this deep dupstep joint; not for the faint of heart (is that an Anne Clark sample?) and finally Dubzta's remake goes for the jugular on this dark and grimy exploration for the true heads.
