Review: They say an artist's muse can be refreshed following the release of a retrospective collection. Afternoons In Stereo (aka Greg Vickers) has been silent since the release of Retrospective in 2015, but now he returns with new long player, Echo Valley. Listening to these 13 tracks it's clear to see that he's found a new freshness to his sound. Highlights include the sombre, wafting lament "Eames In Dub", the wah-wah laden "Redondo Beach" that gets its 70s strut on and the wistful, breezy Balearica of "King Of The Iron Coast". So then, in short; a whole new shiny chapter for Vickers.

Review: A ridiculously fun remix package of Danish breakbeat guru Badboe. For the uninitiated, Badboe has developed a style that has clear echoes of 60s and 70s funk yet still fits seamlessly into the modern musical landscape. This man has dipped his toe in almost any genre you care to name - from house to trance; hardcore to trip-hop. On Break The Funk we see his superlative breakbeat jams remixed by the genre's cognoscenti, with the insouciant Fuzzbox Inc remix of "Lose Your Funky Self" and the junkyard percussion on the Pulp Fusion reshape of "Funky Intro" among the many highlights on offer here.

Review: Bombstrikes welcomes Beat Le Juice to the label for his debut release. Whilst the Polish DJ & Producer may be new to the label, he is certainly no stranger to the scene, picking up a growing army of fans for his releases and remixes, combining funk vibes and electronic sounds. First up, '2 Funky' delivers a full-on bass funk assault with guitar hooks, synth bass, and powerful beats. This is all topped off by an anthemic talk box with Mr. Maph's funk vocal hooks and the deft flow delivery of EVeryman. The 2nd track, 'Lollipop' oozes class from the first refrains of its infectious synth hook, going on to combine elements of P-Funk with bottom-heavy modern electro. Finally, the title track 'Space Cadillac' combines soulful vocals over low-slung beats and bass to take the tempo down a little but loses none of the energy. If this is a sign of things to come from Beat Le Juice and Bombstrikes, then strap in because it's going to be quite the ride!

Review: Tramp's supremacy as the master's of the funk reissue is almost unchallenged at this point, so far ahead is their lead. Here they have unearthed to ancient gems, originally found relinquishing on the long lost LP, on the Dream Queen album. They first transferred these two tunes to 7" vinyl for all the purists out there, now they've sold out we can all now enjoy them digitally too. The title track features trumpet harmonies a-go-go, bongos and a general far-out 60s groove. "Pearl/Among The Swine" however, adds pianos and xylophones into the heady retro mix.
