Review: With Italy hit hardest by the Coronavirus and lockdown right now, Milan crew, collective and glitterazzi Rollover keeps hope alive! Normally a trusted party for Milano's Apollo club (that's brought the likes of Tiga, Maurice Fulton, Ame and Bambounou to town), Rollover is the place and project for DJ duo and label owners Rocco Fusco & Tiberio Carcano to work their magic. In times of crisis Rollover presents a special initiative via their "ANYTHING GOES" edit service, welcoming voluntary contributions that pay homage to the spirit of Balearic music and beyond! Expect tracks from 2manydjs, Adam Port, Soul Clap, Boombass, Moscoman and Bill Brewster, among many others, with proceeds going to the official emergency fund set up by the Italian Civil Protection Department destined for the COVID-19 crisis in Italy.
Review: On the other side of the great, giant pond, the cause of bass music has never pushed more so than by LA's AC Slater and his Night Bass label. Sometimes its output can be raucous and underground, but sometimes the label can be commercial too. Either way the output is always totally lit. "Come Back" is strictly in the latter camp, a hook up with Shift K3Y, it has resulted in a super infectious and uplifting banger, with rolling bass, skippy beats and more build ups and break downs than you can shake a stick at!
Review: Night Bass have been on a serious roll of late, leaning more towards the showcasing and exposure of new artists, bringing through new blood to their already extensively skilled ranks. Their latest edition however, sees them bring out the big guns as the heavyweights of the Night Bass family land for 'Night Bass London'. Label CEO: AC Slater steps up first with his warbling wonderbox entitled 'Represent', followed by Shift K3Y's hard hitting driver 'Nightline' and the return of the compression masters Phlegmatic Dogs with 'Static'. Finally, it gets very Night Bass indeed as Corrupt wraps the project up with a big room belter entitled 'I Don't Care'. Very tasty stuff indeed.
