Review: If you thought the first 'Crazy P Curates' compilations was a wild ride, hold on tight because this one is a rollercoaster through the sonic cosmos. 20/20 Vision Recordings continues to deliver musical treasures, and this fourth volume is a testament to the Notts scene stalwarts' commitment to championing tunes that make you move and groove. Kicking off this sonic escapade is the Scandi-disco maestro Ray Mang, weaving his magic with lush cosmic melodies and nu-disco beats that are so loose-limbed, they could moonwalk on their own. Funk alert: this is not your average trip through the cosmos; it's a funkadelic joyride through the galaxy. Next up, Tigerbalm takes us on a detour to a tropical oasis with "Cosmic Union" featuring the enchanting vocals of Joy Tyson. Afro rhythms and steamy vocals bring the heat. Ruf Dug joins the sonic expedition with "Vape Quarter Rhythm," a mind-bending blend of proto-house and dreamy Italo bliss-out. Closing out this auditory voyage is Ibiza's Tuccillo with "Siroco," a signature Balearic gem that's as carefree as cocktails by the sea at sundown. It's the kind of track that makes you want to kick off your shoes, feel the sand between your toes, and let the music carry you away on a sea breeze. The love affair between 20/20 Vision and Crazy P is like a cosmic dance, and this fourth installment is a testament to their enduring relationship.

Cosmic Union - (4:55) 114 BPM
Review: Continuing their streak of delivering musical treasures from the acclaimed "Crazy P Curates" compilation, 20/20 Vision Recordings introduces another standout piece. This time, it's the collaboration of UK DJ/producer Rose Robinson, known as Tigerbalm, reuniting with vocalist Joy Tyson. In "Cosmic Union," Tigerbalm skillfully guides us through an exploration of Afrocentric rhythms infused with the vibrant spirit of Brazilian funk and global influences. The result is a captivating journey that takes familiar elements and propels them into a fresh, exciting journey.

Review: 2020 Vision chief Ralph Lawson is a big fan of ASHRR, a Los Angeles band whose signature sound adds a big dose of Californian sunshine to influences including dub disco, space rock, post-punk and alternative soul. He's already released remixes of one track by scientist and Felix Dickinson, and here shares interpretations of 'Talking In Your Sleep' by dub disco and nu-disco scene stalwart Fernando Pulichino. He's delivered a trio of takes on the band's throbbing, hazy, sun-splashed original - a punk-funk-meets-dub disco '7-Inch Mix', the hybrid deep house/dub disco hypnotism of the 'Disco Dub Mix' (itself reminiscent of his early outings on the 2020 aligned Redux imprint) and the spacey, dub house-informed 'Deep Mix'.

Review: Shyam "Snad" Annad brings his brand of trippy house and techno to 2020 Vision's Luther Vine curated Fragments of Reality offshoot for the very first time. BY his own admission, the four tracks on show were partly inspired by the late nineties and early noughties output of Chez Damier and Ron Trent's Prescription Recordings imprint, though raw, sub-heavy and pleasingly percussive opener 'Bootlickerz' sounds more like a brain-melting fusion of vintage Dance Mania style ghetto-house and the fizzing madness of Paul Woolford classic 'Erotic Discourse'. 'Goobernatorial Candidacy' blurs the boundaries between electro, Chicago 'boompty' and ultra-deep house, while 'Per Savor' doffs a cap to Chez-and-Trent via ocean-deep pads, spacey bleeps and dubby bass. Finally, 'Butt Heads' is a locked-in chunk of early morning deep house hypnotism with trippy noises aplenty.

Love & Peace
Love & Peace - (3:40) 105 BPM
Review: Originally featured on one of 2020 Vision's fabulous Crazy P Curates EPs, Red Rack'em's luscious 'Love & Peace' gets a deserved single release. Variously inspired by low-tempo house, dubbed-out Balearica and Detroit Beatdown - itself a slow, hypnotic take on house music - the track draws heavily on the Bristol-based Scot's love of head-nodding beats, soulful samples, sun-soaked positivity and what we would call "proper deepness". The selected samples - of, we should add, of unknown origin - are deliciously summery and sunset-ready, with the 'Wonky Disco Bassline Banger' producer uniting his MPC beat-maker roots with a chunky, locked-in house groove and plenty of loved-up musical flourishes. An absolute delight for slow house enthusiasts, downtempo DJs and anyone who likes their grooves doused in oodles of soul-fired emotion.

Review: Following the rip-roaring success of their first 'Crazy P Curates' compilation, the Notts scene stalwarts return with another four selections of cuts they love and champion in their DJ sets. Fittingly, band co-founder Chris Todd steps up first as Hot Toddy with 'Barry and the Mouse', a deliciously glassy-eyed Balearic shuffler shot through with nods to loved-up instrumental synth-pop and immersive nu-disco, before the duo offers up with laidback, sun-splashed warmth of A Certain Ratio's 'Atmosphere Sings'. Drifting, sunrise-ready motifs and tactile textures are the order of the day on Daniele Baldelli and Marco Dionigi's gently funky cosmic disco number 'Neono', while Sarah Bates' 'All About That' is like a cosmic disco and Balearic pop head's take on 'Tango in the Night'-era Fleetwood Mac.

Review: 20:20 Vision stalwart Dokta returns with hs fourth release for the imprint, where the London based producer serves up more deep and slinky tech house for the late night on "Straight Lines". In addition, the track receives a series of stellar remixes by an all-star cast - and they are diverse enough to suit any occasion on the dancefloor. Leeds hero Bobby O'Donnell delivers the most energetic of the lot (and perfect to rock the main room), while Manchester upstart Kerouac's deep and hypnotic mood lighting is just perfect for the warm up. Fachwerk chief Mike Dehnert's reductionist dub workout sounds like it's been scraped directly off the factory floor, then veering completely off the dancefloor is Classical Mechanic's gorgeous ambient/electronica perspective - which is ideal for drifting back at home in your armchair.

Review: Carl Finlow is one of the UK's greatest electronic music producers, as this compilation demonstrates. Issued on 20:20 Vision, the label he co-founded with Back 2 Basics' Ralph Lawson, it features some of his finest electro work. On the deeper tip, there's the wonderfully mournful synths of "Anomaly" and "Equilibrium", while he veers into synth pop with the irresistibly catchy hooks and nerdy vocals on "Broken Mirror". However, that's not to detract from the weight of Finlow's catalogue, and tracks like the menacing "Nanotech" or the dense electro funk of "Mr Machine"- the title track of the bench mark 2002 album he recorded under the Silicon Scally guise - put him right up there with electro's greats.

Review: Dokta has been seen lurking around 20:20 Vision with a curious take on that label's particular brand of house. That step to the left becomes more pronounced on this record, where Dokta gets to call on a wealth of live instrumentation to animate his sound. On "London Nights" he interweaves vocal, ambling keys and crooked basslines into a curious and utterly inspired cocktail of cool-headed pressure, which Jason Heath then simmers down to a purely instrumental refrain. Burnski goes to the other extreme and beefs the track up for a firm and functional ride, while Ralph Lawson dubs the track out and gives it a low slung swagger.

Review: Romanian duo NTFO up next on Leeds institution 20:20 Vision, following up some great releases in recent times for top labels such as Gruuv, Diynamic and Objektivity. The Timisoara based pair kicking off proceedings with the bass heavy sleaze of the fittingly titled "Fresh Cut" and it's perfect for after midnight mood lighting and transitioning into the next phase: peak time!. Next up is the slinky and atmospheric neo-acid of "Jomanfish" which is so hypnotic and equally suited to building the vibe earlier in the evening. Finally "Abrazive" was exactly what we were hoping for: a tough peak time cut with its infectious loops reaching near tribal moments. It's a sunny and uplifting affair reminiscent of Parisian legends D'Julz or Phil Weeks and has us counting down the days until the next summer season on the White Isle.

Review: Nature is Dokta's first ever release, but his lack of experience in putting out music doesn't show. In its original format, the title track is a stripped back, minimal house groove that grows and evolves to reveal stuttering vocals and a soaring, groaning bass line. Ralph Lawson's label has chosen the remixers well; Jay Clarke is another new artist who has just released a record on Ben Klock's Klockworks. For this remix, he ups the tempo, throws in some arcade game squiggles and a UR-style organ riff. The label has also tapped Seth Troxler to rework "Nature". Co-produced with Bas Ibellini, the muddy bass and eerie atmospherics of their version make for a moody counterpoint to Clarke's wide eyed sound.

Starting off with the slamming tribal tech house groove "Witchdoctor", while the slinky yet jacking acid house of "Music Box" equally impresses. "Cross Colours" is a perfect representation of this new stage, a hybrid of all the styles he has become renowned for. When they first heard Cross Colours they were all in agreement that Luke Vibert would be the perfect remixer. Luckily Luke agreed too and turned in a track, flirting with early rave and hardcore whilst keeping the originals electro aesthetic.

Stutter - (6:45) 123 BPM
Vowels - (6:41) 122 BPM
Review: Leeds label 20/20 Vision may have risen to prominence with a deep, US house sound, but over the years that has evolved into something more stripped back and European. Local lads Audiojack are part of this shift and on Mouth, they show exactly why they have become one of the label's key acts. "Fluent" is based on insistent rhythms, repetitive, breathy vocal samples and ticking percussion that will insinuate itself into the listener's cranium. "Stutter" is based on a similar premise, the only difference is that this time the vocals are reduced down to grunts and murmurs as the pair fire off a tracky rhythm. The last track, "Vowels", features a French vocalist intoning words over hypnotic organ riffs, but has lost none of the out there appeal that the other tracks have in spades.

Review: Deep and slinky tech house by Spanish favourite Hector Couto and it finds a fitting home on Ralph Lawson's esteemed Leeds institution that is still going strong. The title track as well as the very funky "Music Please" are the kind of rolling peak time grooves that have seen him have several releases on the likes of Mihalis Safras' Material Series; so no coincidence really! "Raw Fixation" or "House Bounce" dive deeper with their NYC style swing and shuffle and infectious basslines; no wonder he's released on Hot Creations too! There's an undeniable nod to Kerri Chandler on both tracks, which we loved.

Review: Leipzig's Sven Tasnadi has been a judicious purveyor of smoking' tech-house ever since the late noughties, and the man has landed on every label worth landing on. Poker Flat, Liebe Detail Smallville, you name it; this time he drops down four belters on the incorrigible 20:20 Vision, all of them ready to rock your heart out on the dance floor. "Backpack" is a classic tech slicer without a care in the world, and the same goes for the dusty-footed "All The Way". "What?!" is the quirky brother of the lot, a disjointed, drunken house banger with a wobbly but of bass in its circuitry, and "Different Times" goes for the murky makeover thanks to its swamped melodies and cavernous groove. Review: Following celebrated outings on Futureboogie Recordings, Throne of Blood and Hot Creations, Leeds lads PBR Streetgang return to 20:20 Vision. While the powder-coated, bass-heavy bounce of "Whiplash" will probably get the plaudits, "Return To Page One" is probably a more enticing proposition. It contains some of the same traits - sleazy late night samples, ludicrously powerful bass and a '5am over the Adriatic' feel - it also contains delay-laden drum machine rhythms and synthesizer lines heavily influenced by 1980s proto house and Latin freestyle. These latter elements are emphasized further on Tuff City Kids' excellent Electro Remix, which sounds like a vintage Fresh Records release. They also provide a delightfully cheery 'Disco Mix' full of '80s style Latin house piano solos and rolling 4/4 grooves.

Review: Following a quietly impressive 2014, in which he delivered pleasing material on Toy Tronics and Mr Carter, Maurice Uzzan brings his Whitesquare project to 20:20 Vision. There's an atmospheric, late night feel throughout, as Uzzan effortlessly blurs the boundaries between deep house and tech-house. That's most noticeable on the dark and murky opener, "Someone Else", but also a feature of "Abraxas", with its stretched-out organ chords, trippy electronics, shuffling grooves and military drum fills. There's a little more bass-heavy, chopped-up party flavour to "About The Past", while "Peaks" delivers a lesson in the spine-tingling powers of deep, melodious and dreamy deep house.

Review: It's extraordinary to think that Ralph Lawson's 20:20 Vision imprint, now some 20 years old, is homing in on 300 releases. This 273rd missive comes from Lakosa and Rick Grant, who previously joined forces for outings on 2nd Drop and Tender Hooks. There's a decidedly murky, late night feel to opener "Dusk", whose main attraction is undoubtedly a mind-altering combination of relentless, low-slung acid bass and some decidedly deep and spacey chords. "Cascade" is deeper and slightly more melodious, with tumbling pianos and bubbling electronics riding a roughneck tech-house groove. Remixes come from Ejeca and Whitesquare, with the latter's ear pleasing, intelligent techno-influenced re-interpretation of "Cascade" particularly impressing.

Together with buddy George G, they make 90s-indebted house and here we get three fresh cuts from their analogue bunker. "Jojoman" is a repetitive seven minute proggy roller, "Voice Game" is perkier with crisp tribal beats thumping through weird and distorted vocals and "Life Game" being a deep and shuffley loop-a-thon. Elsewhere Djebali reworks the title track into a more subdued retro pop houser and Guti turns Voice Game into twisted, deep and mongy break-step.

Review: London producer Rob Burn has been making waves on the UK underground as IO Sounds these past few years with a bass heavy brand of house displayed through releases on Derelicht, Madtech, and 20:20 Vision. The latter long-running Northern label have, of course, been strong IO Sounds advocates and they facilitate his latest single Another Love, notable for a fine remix from Last Magpie. Of the original IO Sounds tracks, the deep techy title cut impresses thanks to its shuffling warehouse groove whilst "Broken Teeth" is a wonderfully odd production. Here IO Sounds lays down foreboding vocal grunts over a grubby electro bassline and recycled drum breaks.

Review: Christian Loffler rarely leaves his home label of Ki Records, but it seems he's been wooed by Ralp Lawson's 20:20 Vision. This York EP provides Loffler with his first release of 2015 and it's a romantically melancholic affair that combines elements of Pantha Du Prince, with Four Tet and German minimalism. "York" is a swoon of breathy hums and blurry pianos, while "Lhotse" is dusky, full of crackle and heart-warming. For something a little dancier check out "Nordkap", which rounds out one of this year's most saccharine three-tracks. Kompakt probably wish they got their hands on this first!

Review: Having appeared on labels such as Visionquest, Mobilee, Defected and Vakant, Forrest has already made quite a name for himself. The Montreal-based artist makes the move over to 20:20 Vision with the head-nodding, vocal-laced tones of "Manhattan" and instantly proves why he's had so much favourable attention in recent times. You can always count on Ralph Lawson's label to be no slouches when it comes to remixes as well, and in this instance Christian Nielsen steps up with a remix and a dub of "Manhattan" that chops the original up and reforms it as a more sharp-edged tech house beast, while VAM creates a rough, heavy-loaded bumper out of the original elements.

Review: Having previously moonlighted on Love Fever Records and 20:20 Vision, Citizen is back in action and he's packing a fresh salvo of upfront tech house treats. "Be" in its original form burrows through squishy square wave basslines and soulful vocals that will slip into any heated nocturnal situation, while the accompanying "Warehouse Mix" taps up a Carl Craig flavour of big-room techno with choice slices of the original vocal kept in for good measure. For a touch of diversity, Hercules & Love Affair drop a typically sassy remix that bumps up the groove and weaves playful snippets of the original around a more overtly melodic construction.

Review: Amazingly, 2020 Vision is the 13th different label Greek producer Thanasis "Kindimmer" Voulgaris has appeared on since making his debut back in 2010. This first EP for the Leeds label is arguably his best to date. Certainly, there's something magical about the dreamy strings, rich Rhodes chords, bumping beats and tough, tech-tinged bassline that make up "Noble Loser". While "Blow Up The Bank" and "Next Door" are solid if unspectacular deep house chuggers, and closing track "This Harmonic" is superb. It brilliant combines stylistic tics associated with Detroit futurism and the bumpin' Chicago deep house of Chez Damier, with additional techno weight to the beats. It comes highly recommended.

Review: When Ben Hackman first burst onto the scene with a spate of dubstep and garage-influenced anthems back in 2010, it seemed inconceivable that he would one day end up on 20:20 Vision. Clearly, he's mellowed with age. While "Carry On" boasts some subtle bass music influences - most notably at the bottom end - it's basically a dreamy, tech-tinged deep house record. Surprisingly, the accompanying Dub goes even deeper, and comes blessed with one seriously spine-tingling breakdown. Best of all, though is Rampa's remix of similarly deep bonus cut "The Blue (Instrumental)", which is built around heavy bass and loose African percussion. Brilliantly, it sounds like a lost Golden Teacher B-side.

Review: If you are a fan of 2020 Vision with a keen understanding of the online electronic music community you will probably be content with the content that's preceded the release of Content, the label's 20th anniversary compilation. Yet how does the multi-format release shape up against the pre-release hype? Well this second sampler features a brand new cut from Simian Mobile Disco as well as fresh remixes of 2020 classics from Matthew Herbert and Cassy, which says it all really! SMD lead the way with "Parson's Nose" which is Jas and James at their most melodically languid and involving, whilst Cassy adds some notable chunkiness to "Get On Down," David Duriez's 2002 release on Ralph Lawson's label. The idea alone of Herbert remixing Maya Jane Coles is filled with intrigue and his resultant take on "Senseless" is resolutely strange without losing any dancefloor impact.

Review: Sandy Rivera aka Kings Of Tomorrow has certainly been around the block. With releases on everything from the holy grail of house that is Defected, to other legendary US imprints such as Strictly Rhythm, he's pretty much a legend in his own right. This time he makes a trip over to Europe's 20:20 with a glistening, techy new single. "Flutez" has it all: a touch of grit to its beats, an incessant melody and an arrangement jam-packed with gnarly effects. The always on-point Audiojack comes through correct with the remix, transforming the original into a darker, more spectral floor killer for the late hours.

Review: Vienna-based Brazilian Joyce Muniz returns to 20:20 Vision for the first time since 2012 with "Soundomatic", a warm and fluid trip into late night deep house territory. Blessed with toasty chords, cut-up vocal samples, nagging sub, crunchy beats and a whisper of acid freakery, "Soundomatic" harks back to the halcyon days of house while sounding impressively fresh. Rising star Kyodai remixes, giving Muniz's original a more organic flavour thanks to some lush Rhodes keys and heady, Larry Heard-influenced electronics. Also included are two decent bonus cuts; the rave-era bagginess of "Brightness" and "Back To Back", a wide-eyed chunk of new age-influenced Balearic deep house.

Review: By now, we should all be used to Italian producer Nicholas' particular brand of tactile retro-futurism. Pleasingly, this EP for 20:20 Vision flips the script a little, whilst retaining his usual vintage house influences. "Pressure", for example, replaces his usual piano stabs and early Nu Groove references with foreboding riffs and a little basement-bothering low-end boom. The woozy "Break Thru" layers drifting synths over clattering 909 percussion, while "Body Drum" is a sweaty throwback to Vasquez-era Sound Factory. "I Believe", meanwhile, stirs memories of early Danny Tenaglia productions - all long, sharp strings, delay-laden vocal samples, heavy bass and thumping drums.

Review: Long-serving hero of Italian house music Giuseppe Tuccillo makes a return to 20:20 Vision for another bout of flamboyant, colourful house music offset with studio sensitivity and a deft understanding of how high-grade house music should work. "For You" works into a stripped down but ultimately funky groove that screams New Jersey, except the content outside of the drums comes in dream-like dots and dashes of samples and melodies, and even the drums themselves twitch and shake playfully. "Optimum" takes a more laconic approach, although not horizontal by any means, before "Green" perks the atmosphere back up with a peppy groove and sunny synths that exude positivity in tone and arrangement.

Review: This debut album from Glasgow-based DJ, producer and vocalist Debukas feels like the start of something big. Debukas clearly has talent, and his trademark sound - a variant on smart electronic pop with clear influences from tech-house, deep house and leftfield electronic disco - is well thought out and immaculately produced. I Am Machinery is an impressive debut, all told, sounding not unlike Junior Boys jamming with Jamie Jones and Random Factor. It is atmospheric - particularly the likes of "Hold Back The Sea" and "I Am Machinery" - but bubbles with positive intent and more than a little dancefloor swing. He's not the finished article just yet, but this is an excellent start.

Review: Having carved out quite the reputation for themselves with their We Play House imprint and a successful turn on Delusions Of Grandeur, Red D and San Soda bring their heart-warming house styles to 20:20 Vision. "Holding Our Nick" stands proud atop a punchy bassline, keeping the track stripped back and funky without riding any one element too hard, dropping in some ice cold chord stabs at just the right time. Meanwhile Frits Wentink brings a spacious, dubby veneer to the track, filling in the sparse gaps with echoes and decays, and even working some cheeky additional drums and arpeggios into the mix. Locked Groove meanwhile heads for the more strung out side of a re-version, coming on all wistful and romantic in the process.

Review: Prolific French producer DJ W!ild makes his debut on 20:20 Vision. The only real surprise here is that it took him so long to put something out on Ralph Lawson's label. Indeed, as Feel Me demonstrates, W!ld sounds at home on 20:20. "Rendez Vous Love" is a dense, tribal roller with tripped out synths and vocals phased in and out at will. By contrast, "Boys Don't Cry" is stripped back and acidic, like fellow Frenchman Phil Weeks on a bad trip. The title track reveals a different side to his sound; littered with Spanish vocals and icy synths, its stepping, jagged rhythm marks a welcome sea change for a producer known for his functional dance floor sound.

Review: With previous releases on the likes of Remote Area, Gruuv and Suara, Kid Culture's reputation is pretty spotless... And an appearance on 2020 is only going to help compound this further. The beautifully titled "Chord Chaser" peaks and troughs via tidal washes of filtered synths (think Fred Everything), pushing the same deep groove message relentlessly. "Nu Age Humming" flips the switch with bold organ exercises and an unstoppable chop-slap jacking rhythm. Finally we hit "Interstellar Drive By". Yet another feather in Kid Culture's cap, this classic west coast style jam showcases his more percussive, jazzy skills. Three golden grooves on one sweet release: butt wiggling guaranteed.

Review: 20:20 Vision has always been astute when it comes to signings, picking up fast-rising producers on the cusp of making it big. Whether Jonny Cade - who has releases on Kolour Recordings and Black Key to his name - fits into that category remains to be seen, but from the sound of "Find My Way", the signs are good. The title track is something of an underground hit in waiting; an intoxicating chunk of deliciously deep house with just the right amount of fluidity and tech-house influences. The EP's other three tracks are pretty good, too, delivering a two heavyweight, garage-influenced late night bangers and a chunky trip into Huxley territory ("Truffles at Dawn").

Review: With previous releases on Hudd Traxx, Dessous and Poker Flat, Andrade has firmly established himself as a reliable source of floor-friendly fodder. Here, the Parisian producer drops a trio of tasty tracks for 20:20 Vision. With its stomping drums, booming funk bassline and relentless organs, opener "Dark Message" packs a punch. While similarly energetic, there's something a little sweeter and groovier about "Clouds Up" (which, with its sinewy strings and disco samples, recalls Andres's "New For You"). The EP's third and final track, "Rush Minute", offers some respite in the form of tactile chords, subtle melodies and warm deep house grooves.

Review: Having lit up the summer of 2012 with his single-sided white label, "Kerri", Rob Amboule gets a deserved debut EP on 20:20 Vision. Fittingly, it's "Kerri" - a tribute to US house master Kerri Chandler complete with intoxicating synth melodies and trademark Chandler shuffle - that kicks things off, but there are plenty of next-level thrills to be found elsewhere. "Pushin' On" (yep, it samples Alice Russell's vocal from the Quantic Soul Orchestra record of the same name) is as touchy-feely and wide-eyed as deep house gets, while "Part 3" impresses with its tactile chords, sturdy grooves and wild '90s US garage organs.

Review: Following the recent release of his debut album, Them Crowd Kids (Ibadan), Greek producer Quell continues to churn out top quality deep house at an impressive rate. This four-tracker for 20:20 Vision is full of high-grade moments, from the strobelight serenade of the hypnotic, classic-sounding "Don't Go", to the '89 Chicago jack-meets-early UK rave-meets US garage of the restless "Right". Quell's main strength is the ageless sound of his productions; "Loose Meanings", with its acid-tinged bassline, sweaty drum builds, yearning, tear-jerking chords and classic house riffs, sounds like it could have been recorded at any point in the last 25 years.

Review: Having seen his vintage remix of DJ Dove's "Come On" (originally produced with 20:20 Vision partner in crime Carl Finlow, and first released in 2000) make an unlikely dancefloor comeback last year (not a huge surprise, given its quality), Ralph Lawson has decided to trawl through his box of long-forgotten DATs for more forgotten gold. Bar a handful of recent reworks (including a fine re-tweak of a little-known, Andres-ish Prophets of Sound rework), all of the remixes on Dusty Dubs & Gold Dust by Lawson and Finlow at least 10 years ago. That most sound surprisingly fresh is testament to their quality. Highlights and naturally plentiful, from the skittering, hard-to find mix of Wolf 'N' Flow's "Feeling moody", to the raw house-boogie vibes of their magnificent Blaze rework.

Here, he follows acclaimed outings on Tusk Wax, Needwant, Aus and Last Night On Earth with a typically entertaining EP for 2020 Vision. Review: Ah, the delights of the 'mystery' alter ego. Brazilian Roscoe Sledge is, by all accounts, rather well known as a techno producer under his real name, but has decided to keep people guessing with a new alter-ego. Oh, and a different sound. You see, these four tracks for 20:20 Vision combine a myriad of influences - Visionquest-inspired house, acid, tech-house, twinkling deepness, the fluid synths of nu-disco, the old darkroom style of Roach Motel and the robust pulse of techno - to create wonky dancefloor cuts that defy easy categorization. Our pick is probably the wide-eyed intergalactic funk of "Mis En Scene", but they're all pretty tasty.

Review: This latest missive from comeback kid Freak Seven (AKA producer Naveed Akthar) is not so much surreal, but utterly bonkers. "Surreal" is a wildly imaginative chunk of dancefloor madness that somehow manages to fuse the low-end, acid-era bounce of Adonis, the slick electro/techno of Random Factor and the verbal nonsense of Foremost Poets. It's borderline insane, but fantastic to boot. Remixes come from Sebo K, who provides a bumpin' vocal version and a brilliantly sparse dub, and Dario Zenker. His sparkling, futurist mixes - part techno, part deep house, part electro - are arguably the highlight of an excellent EP.

The first installment of Superstitious Heart, featuring the original version, was arguably one of 2020 Vision's biggest smashes in recent years. Here, it gets remixes by Leeds lads PBR Streetgang, who turn it into a woozy, string-drenched Balearic disco-meets-deep house shuffler. Almost as good is the Baunz-produced "Whatever Sets You Free", as good a chunk of tech-tinged deep house-pop as you're likely to find this year. His dancefloor-friendly Dub is worth checking, too.

This collection of recent and vintage reworks of Crazy P tracks thankfully falls into the latter category, delivering a mix of classic re-cuts, previously unheard tweaks and previously promo-only mixes. Some of the more Balearic and quietly downtempo tweaks stand out, not least Appleblim's woozily soulful touch-up of "Changes" and Wolf + Lamb's deliciously wide-eyed, downtempo take on "Wecanonlybewhoweare". There's a sugary-sweet melodic hook that rises and falls in the comparatively dark mix of raw drum hits and throbbing sub bass to create an alluring nocturnal blend which begs for you to raise your hands in appreciation. Changing shape as the track ploughs on, the brief moments of daylight make this an unstoppable club smasher. On "Tunnel Vision" the pair enlist Stee Downes for some assistance and opt for a more mellow, broken beat affair, while "In Principle" embraces that broken flavour further with another restrained but devoutly cheeky party juicer.

Here he returns to 2020 Vision, scene of last year's solid Mathematics EP, for another four-track burst of deep house goodness. Review: Austria's first lady of house music is on the up. Having previously released solid deep and tech-house on a variety of small labels, she's now playing in the big leagues thanks to this extended EP for 2020 Vision. It's easy to see why Ralph Lawson was so keen to sign it. All three original tracks have a tactile fluidity that recalls the best work of Seth Troxler and company, with "Wanna Be There" also providing the obligatory classic US garage references. Although the bassy, strangely wobbly "Calm Before The Storm" is commendable, the real killer is the funk-fuelled title track. That's backed by two remixes, the deeper Purple Hills tweak being our pick.

Review: Rising star on the European tech house circuit Jay Bliss makes the leap to 20:20 Vision for this sturdy workout that keeps the beat pared down to a crisp strut, letting a warm bassline take the lead for the track's hook. The real treat is in the remix, as Sweden's finest Skudge dissemble the original and re-emerge with a thoroughly immersive slice of industrial tinted deep techno. The wriggling beat doesn't let up throughout, while the degraded pad morphs and mutates over the duration to an utterly devastating end. There's an organic beating heart at work in this version, and it lets a whole lot of light into the murky basement of the Skudge sound.
