Review: With previous releases on DFTD and Play It Again to his name, and with an EP forthcoming on Visionquest, London's Forrest is clearly a producer on the rise. It's not hard to see why; this EP for 20:20 Midnight Visions is packed full of the sort of shuffling, groovesome, murky late night deep house capable of sending dancefloors into simultaneous bouts of finger pointing. Lead cut "Shiny Suit" is probably the pick, though the even deeper, extremely fluid "Beverley Hills" and chugging "My Factory" both push it close. Bodhi's bumping, ethereal remix of the title track is fittingly deep, too.
Review: Established last year with killer releases from the likes of Photomachine and Presk, 2020's Midnight Visions brand continues to spread the good word house gospel. And who better to continue the sonic sermons than 10 Thousand Yen man Doc Daneeka? Across the four tracks we run the gamut of nocturnal grooves. From soulful filtered house ("Everyday") to subtle n' slinky, sexy electro ("Sunset To Neath"), Doc's prescribed a fine line of midnight tonics. You'll be hard-pushed which one to play first.
