Review: One of the true pioneers of trance for well over a decade, Paul Van Dyk is back to his very best here as he teases with a glimpse of what to expect from new artist album (his first since 2007) 'Evolution'. Working alongside Miami based man of the moment Austin Leeds (Hotfingers, Spinnin, Bedrock), 'Verano' is a tech infused uplifting trancer, with a breakdown built on the foundations of the golden era and a super fresh blend of house and electro influences underlying. Our pick of the lot is the aptly named PvD 'Full Fire' mix which delivers that peak time blow perfect for rocking the biggest of rooms.. If what's to come is as good as this, we can't wait for the album!
Review: This is bursting at the seams with sounds and flavours! Fourteen tracks in total including remixes of the original from: Vato Gonzalez, Doorly, Kill The Noise, Zane's Death Valley, Liam Keegan and a version featuring Kano. The original is a Tinie Tempah toned Radio One flirting number, with catchy lyrics and euphoric energy and enormous, melodic swells. Vato Gonzelez transforms it into a pumping dance anthem, whilst Doorly twists it up with tropical sounds, manipulating the vocals to new forms, and Kill The Noise give it the ubiquitous dubstep treatment. Zane's Death Valley mix is lots of fun, focusing on the vocal; Liam Keegan is full of funky groove and Kano adds more prowess to the track.
