Review: Low-swung filtered jacking house action from up-and-coming Chilean producer Da Boogie Star. Serious heads-down gear with perfectly executed sample and a distinct 'less-is-more' approach, DBS understands groove science intimately. Remix-wise all shades of house are covered with confidence: big filtered loops (Sharpie Dance), Classic Records-style bumps and struts (Super Drug) and lavish disco funk (Fierce City). Undiluted house vibes throughout.
Review: There's something brilliantly old-fashioned about this string-laden chunk of goodtime filter house. Its undulating disco grooves and feel-good vocals hark back to simpler times, when disco-house dominated dancefloors. Certainly, those who enjoy the work of Joey Negro should enjoy "Only You" - it has the same hands-in-the-air simplicity. Alongside the chunky original you'll find a string of similar, but slightly different, remixes. It's hard to pick out highlights as, to be honest, they all hit the spot, but the sax-powered disco-bumo of JR Disco's rework and the deep Banana Groovz 'Only Underground' mix are probably our picks.
