Review: For this super creative two track broken garage project, we hear the innovative sounds of Zemon alongside the 83 imprint, and it's an absolute corker. As a first track 'Lecture' is exactly what the UK music scene is after, creative, skippy, melodic garage with a tonne of impressively designed synthesisers. The syncopation increases tenfold as we roll into 'Girl' which vibes off pulsating reese leads, beautifully plucked melodies and unpredictable drum manoeuvres, resulting in a super groovy composition. The one is a real example of how creative you can get with the UKG style.
Review: After the highly anticipated release of the '11 Sins' project earlier this year from Murix, it was only a matter of time before the remixes started to appear. This '11 Sins (Remixes)' package features a full set of rework, included top draw work from the likes of Le Duke, Dovo, The Brainkiller, Outselect, Yo Speed and many more. The best moments for us include CoolTasty's choppy break refix of 'Everything', Hankook's darkened sub heavy redesign of 'Freestyler' and of course Guau's phenomenal reese driven overhaul of '11 Sins' complete with with crunchy drum processing and hardcore influences.
Review: There's nothing we enjoy more than a swampy shell out and thanks to Jiro with his brand new single 'The Deep', that is exactly what we have been treated to. As growling metallic bass synths writhe into the forefront of the mix, sharp drum rhythms and breaksy percussive layers intertwine with stunningly smooth accuracy, creating a monster in its wake. This sound is the future of underground bass music and 83 have done a fantastic job in getting this one together!
