Review: Batu's second label, A Long Strange Dream, is named after his NTS show and a related event series. It is also designed as a platform for him to release diverse music at his own pace. Zeal / Sunday is the fifth EP on the imprint and, true to ALSD's aesthetic, it follows a freeform approach. "Zeal" is founded on a funk bass and houses a cacophony of sounds - including tonal drops and builds, muttered vocal samples and dubbed out effects. "Sunday" is also a dance floor-focused track - but on this occasion, Batu opts for a more ominous sound design with a focus on eerie synths and a rumbling bass.
