Review: The Sorcerers turn out to be a trio from Leeds, UK, which is disappointing because after hearing this, their sophomore album, we sort of wanted them to be a Turko-Egyptian nine-piece made up of ex-secret service operatives. Taking their primary influences (they say) from Ethiopian jazz and vintage European horror movie soundtracks, on 'In Search Of The Lost City...' they serve up 12 all-instrumental tracks that blur the boundaries between jazz, world music, funk and chill-out. It's definitely an album that's best appreciated whole: whether you do so while reclined on a Persian rug with a hookah in one hand and a Luger in your pocket is up to you, but it can't hurt.
