Review: Megalon may have only released a small catalogue of music during the early to late 90s, but it's fair to say that the act left an enduring legacy. Following on from the re-release of their sole album, 1994's Pandoras Box, Above Board now reissue tracks from the duo's three Eps, all released a year earlier, in 1993, on Plink Plonk. Despite the passage of three decades, these tracks sound timeless. "Belief" is a hypnotic, tingling slice of deep techno, while "Incantation" veers into a jazzy direction. And in contrast, "Darkness (Shaded In)" still boasts one of the most distinctive interplays between menacing bass and eerie synths from that period - a heady fusion that hasn't aged.

Review: Ed Cartwright and Leon Oakey's first collaborative compilation is one of the few we've come across to eschew a narrow focus on one genre or style in favour of celebrating an under-documented era, namely UK dance music's eclectic, impossible to pigeonhole 'post-rave' period in the mid 1990s. Given that lots of great music was released then, it's a great idea. The tracklist boasts a lot of very good cuts, including a near impossible to find Richard D James oddity (as Strider B), a couple of killer Richard H Kirk-related numbers, some stretched-out, acid-fired early morning psychedelia (Thunderhead The Word By Eden), classic IDM gems (Xeper, the Black Dog), a dash of dubby, post-bleep brilliance (Liquid Son, Rotor) and a clutch of hybrid deep house/tech-house tracks (Max, Fretless AZM, Herbert).

Review: Between 1995 and 2002, Luke Solomon and the late Kenny Hawkes held a Wednesday night residency at Bar Rumba in London's West End. This was Space, and this collection pays tribute to the party and the records that rocked the dancefloor. Fittingly, it starts with Hawkes' 'Dance For Me', a nine-minute house bumper blessed with warped speed garage bass, and ends with a Solomon co-production, Freaks' trippy deep house jam 'Flywithme (Part 1)'; in between, you'll find such peak-time delights as Jedi Knights' sweaty, loose-limbed breakbeat house blast 'The Knock (Big Knockers)', the organ-rich, Sound Factory-style brilliance of 'Surrender Yourself (Ballroom Mix)' by The Daou, the pots-and-pans percussion insanity of Cajmere remixing Armando ('The Future'), and a smattering of classics (Ten City, killer remixes from MAW and Mood II Swing).

Review: Megalon was a brilliant but short-lived project that released on labels like Plink Plonk and R&S during the golden era of UK techno (1993-97). Now Above Board has remastered and re-released their sole artist album from 1994 to share the Megalon vision with a new generation. When it comes to techno albums, Pandora's Box has got it all - the title track is a shimmering, reflective affair that dovetails with the work of Nuron and As One from that period, "Machine" sees the duo apply that widescreen sound to a warbling dance floor groove, while the acid-speckled "Systrem" resounds to a dark bass and cold percussion. Most impressive though is the depth and complexity of sound throughout Pandora'a Box - qualities that continue to resonate nearly 30 years later.

Review: To accompany Heiko Hoffmann's photography book of the same name, Above Board has compiled some of the best tracks to feature in Berlin clubs from the early 90s to nowadays. No Photos features the dramatic Detroit techno of 3MB's "The 4th Quarter" , while Mijk van Dijk and Tanith's 9-10-Boy project and Alec Empire's "SuEcide" capture the wide eyed rave of the early 90s. The compilation also features signature Berlin techno tracks - ss any record more closely linked to Hardwax/Berghain than the Maurizio Remix of Vainqueur's "Lyot"? -while the hypnotic bleeps of Sleeparchive's "Elephant Island" is a true minimal classic. Like the book, No Photos is expertly curated and executed.

Review: Lifted from the minds of former record store clerks turned influential DJs and selectors Vladimir Ivkovic & Ivan Smagghe, IDMEMO: A Future Of Nostalgia presents a curation of tracks taken from the pair's time behind the counter. Zoning in on a period where indie rock was colliding with electronic music you'll find oddball rarities from associated Warp acts like The Black Dog and Seelfeel to others by Zugzwang and IF. Discover lost sounds from a bygone era in Passarani 2099's "Ixora", Abfahrt Hinwil's "Tech 7" and The Marcia Blaine School For Girls' "Sometimes My Arms Bend Back". Nothing like a fresh hit of nostalgia for something new.

Review: What's there to be said about Bushwacka! that has not been already? The man known to his mum as Matthew Benjamin is synonymous with the UK tech house sound nigh on nearly three decades; heading up Olmeto Records with partner in crime Layo Paskin and legendary nightclub The End, as well as rubbing shoulders with fellow local legends like Mr C, Terry Francis and Nathan Coles. A tribute to Benjamin's back catalogue is well overdue, and Above Board Distribution has done a great job of presenting some of his seminal works between 1995 - 2005 here on 'Listen Up! Vol 02'. Featuring a broad selection of music taken from the cult Plank and Oblong labels, plus remixes from longtime friends and collaborators. Highlights come in the form of Mashupheadz "Blue Skies" (a collab with the aforementioned Coles), the deep acidified breaks of Tokamak's "Set Up" (which he did a grand job of remixing) or his distinct tribal house vibes best heard on "So Lonely" from back in '96.

Review: With four of Matthew Bushwacka's own productions and four from other people, 'Listen Up!' kind of blurs the lines between artist album and compilation, but we suggest you stop worrying what box to put it in and just do what the title says! Ranging from the retro rave energy of Plus's 'Untitled' to the late-night deep house goodness of Asad Rizvi's 'Dual' to Bushwacka's own heavy, almost EBM-ish 'Smashed', with 303 flecks scattered liberally throughout, what you have here are eight tracks that are built to move bodies on small-hours dancefloors while keeping the brain equally engaged.

Spread across two volumes, the compilation will feature tracks from many of Voorn's pseudonyms including Fix, Baruka, The Ghetto Brothers, Mute and many more. This initial release features the sensual Motor City inspired techno-soul of "Life Beyond The Clouds" featuring vocals by the one and only Blake Baxter (Tresor) and the utterly hypnotic "DX Me Silly" from 1992 which channels the same vibe as fellow legend Robert Hood id around the same period with its linear minimalism.
