Sharing similarities with other new school producers like Pfirter, SP-X and Psyk, Contractor is an exemplary slice of modern European techno. It starts with the title track, where heavy, thundering drums support an insistent, rolling groove and razor-sharp percussive ticks. The arrangement has a cavernous, spacious feel, which the producer manages to convey despite the track's intensity. "Enreg" isn't quite as pacey and the rhythm is more stepping, but its phased builds and nightmarish bell chimes will insinuate itself into the listener's cranium and prove hard to expel. Closing track "Graphic" returns to the tough, relentless drums on the title track and features the added bonus of screeching breakdowns.
