Review: It sounds like this duo would prefer to hang out in a Gitanes smoke-filled cafe than a sweaty techno club. "Ici" has a playful, swinging groove, but it's all about the jazzy piano line hook and the French, coquettish vocals. The "short version" doesn't divert too radically from this sexual script - apart to add in some fat brass stabs - but Acker have been mindful to also provide DJs with a functional remix. Indeed, the Mollonno Bass version achieves exactly that objective thanks to a powerful bass and swinging rhythm, but he doesn't forget the irresistible ivory tinkling that made the original so distinctive.
