Review: Thus far, France's Pierre Codarin has only appeared on his own, self-named imprint so it's a pleasure to see him pop up on something as quirky as the Adult Only label. "Telefunk" rolls of the groove like metal on silk; the beat structure is sleek and penetrative, while the sounds give the impression of Codarin as an artist who like the deeper end of the house spectrum. "Morning Eyes" bangs its heavier drums over a subtle spray of electro bass. Then Dan Ghenacia and Chris Carrier, offer two absolute dons of the French house scene, "Telefunk" into a livelier, glitchier sort of tech bomb. "Evening Juice" caps the evening's antics off with a rolling, tightly packed groove that remains on the house shores while hinting at something more techno-flavoured. Nice and effective.

Review: French veteran Chris Carrier first released material on Adult Only way back in 2000, and has made regular appearances on the label ever since. Here, he delivers his 11th EP for the imprint, offering up a pair of impressive collaborations in his trademark hazy, intoxicated, tech-tinged deep house style. There's a toasty warmth and impressive swing to the bouncing Hector Moralez hook-up "Galactical Dance Mate", which makes great use of sampled clarinets, far-sighted chords and barely audible vocal samples. Djebali provides the obligatory remix, turning the original into a Rbsoul style tech-house roller. Arguably even better is Carrier and Djebali's "BattleStar", a formidably percussive sprint into heavily percussive late night tech-house territory.

Review: Cracking open a smooth bottle of 2017 with their 46th release, Chris Carrier's Adult Only continue to forge timeless paths in the house and techno hinterland. Spanish maverick Rhythm&Soul lives up to his name with two superb tracks of rolling house: "Take Off" has a samba-like bass groove that instantly conjures terrace memories while "Enhance" is a bumpier ride with shifty beats licking sideways when you least expect them in a way that's not dissimilar to Luke Solomon. Then you will get a graceful atmos-heavy deep tech cut from Ukrainian duo Belogurov & Orbit and a chug-happy acid funker from label bossman Carrier himself. Explicitly good.

Review: Chris Carrier's Parisian imprint Adult Only returns, this time with Utrecht young gun Larry De Kat who turns in some deep house cuts for secret after parties. "Diks On Gruds" and "Um?" sound like the kind of sleazy, druggy, afterhours jams that someone like Cabanne would play. The Phil Weeks (he of Robsoul Recordings) remix is as rough and ready as you'd expect, giving it more energy like the legend only can but "Noodlez" is more on the minimal tech house tip, slinky and pumping enough for more adrenalised moments.
