Review: Next up from the ever-ready After Dark Music imprint, we see them welcome the super-versatile sounds of 11th Hour, who unveils four tracks of original steppers flavour to enjoy with this spicy new EP. We begin with distant, eastern melodies and sandy soundscapes of 'Ashkhar', which sets the tone beautifully. Next, we get swampy flavours by the dozen as 'Awaken' moves us forward with some stunning synth design, before 'Revolution' delivers a pulsating steppers display of intricate percussive power and carefully processed reverbs. Finally, we move into the incredible stuttered bass rolls and sub slaps of 'Arcane', which puts the finishing touches on an exceptional project from all involved!

Review: Is there really anything better for a 140 fan than unwrapping a banging new dubstep selection? This potent new selection from Split, courtesy of the well renowned After Dark Music imprint is a real testament to the genre's strength, kicking off with the forward marching drum rolls and hard hitting basslines of 'Original Raggamuffin'. Next, 'Nuff Sound Can't Play' emerges with some slap in the face drum work, followed by the subtle LFO expressions and stunning vocal movements of 'Voodoo'. Finally, 'Ganja Anthems' emerges, stuffed with potent dubwise energy, rounding this one off with a touch of class.

Review: With roots dug very deep into dubstep culture, we are always thrilled to see the After Dark Music team back in action, this time unleashing this killer four tracker from Split who delivers some devilish delights indeed. We kick off with the haunting melodic twists and high energy drum shuffles of the title track 'Demon Choirs', which through its unique compositional value kicks us off in serious style. This is then chased up by both the heavyweight sub & snare drops of 'Evil In Town' and the raucous synth explosions of 'Hammer It Down' which takes the EP to a whole new level. Finally, the aquatic basslines and subtle percussive flicks of 'Organic' arrive just in time to calm down proceedings with an exquisite exit.

Review: If you are looking for seriously smooth 140 music, then honestly look no further than this diamond encrusted pack of gems from MAES, who teams up with After Dark Music for four stunning originals. It's easy to get lost in the silky reverberated horn sections of 'Reversal Dub' from the off, but you will soon find yourself sleepily stepping into the eerie chimes and rolling LFO's of 'Ruck'. The project takes a dubwise turn next as 'True In Livity' then moves in to play, stacked with smooth chord movement and punchy drum combos, before with finish up on the epic soundscapes and synth design of 'Kingdoms Of The Wise', which really takes you somewhere completely different.

Review: For a city that is so lit by sunshine, Los Angeles now has a pretty lit dubstep community, especially if we're talking about the deeper, darker end of the bass spectrum. Ahkur is one such artist leading the charge in this space, and he's up on After Dark Music with four raucous doses of bass-weight, each one of them built for pure destruction. "Insomnia" kicks off with a wayward swagger, all gloom and doom, while "Bone Kirk" steps it up with some gnarly percussion work. "Times Have Changed" gives a nod to the style's reliance on dub templates, and "Night Sesh", the collaboration with Tetrad, ends with a feisty punch of wobble, to give the place a little grimeyness. Dutty!

Review: Here is a release we have been anticipating highly, as 3WA steps foot onto the After Dark Music imprint for a monsterous four track dubstep delight. We begin with the title track 'Lusos', which is from the off driven by sharp percussive smashes, padded out by rolling subs below and dubbed out drum work. Following this we have the tripletred delays of 'Swordfish II' which sits atop yet more phenomenal sub design before landing on the classic LFO riots and unpredictable drum arrangements of 'Warhammer'. Finally we finish up with 'Payne', a super syncopated journey into steppers space, driven by its shuffling percussive grooves and outstanding bass layering, rounding off an excellent body of work.

Review: The constant growth and expansion of the dubstep scene that we have seen throughout the last two years has been super exciting to view, especially when it continues to yield releases as exciting as this one from Myxed Up, who lands on After Dark Music with four potent new creations. We kick off with the suspenseful string plucks and rolling 808 tones of '22's', followed by emotive chord plucks of 'Breathing Apparatus' and the sizzling sub-textures that lay between the shuffling drum movements of the title track 'Zen'. Finally, we round off with 'Divergent', a subtle, shimmering roller, driven by uniquely processed pad textures and an overall floaty texture, adding a nice bit of contrast to see this one out.

Review: The After Dark Music crew are back in business with this fiery new box of warblers from Mikrodot, who immediately injects a new level of 140BPM energy into our lives. Firstly, the title track 'Lost Time', fuses exuberant LFO expressions with syncopated chord stabs and dubby horn delays, setting the tone perfectly. We then jump into 'No Cocaine', another nostalgic thrill-ride, diving through more reggae-inspired musical themes and lethal sub slides, with 'Nobody's Listening' then upping the ante with a more violent feeling around it. Finally, 'Sleuth' delivers a seriously moody feeling', focussing on chiming harmonics and distant vocal delays, closing the EP with a slam.

Review: Next up from the After Dark Music crew, a spicy collection of dungeon-driven heat from the one they called Inertia, giving us a dreamscape-inducing mix of bass and drum. We begin with 'Set It Off' a highly intense roller, fusing huge-system driven subs with bubbling dub delays and spring like drums, before 'Runaway Dub' takes us even deeper with a stripped back, half-time whomper. Next, 'Affinity' gives us another creepy roller, focussing on clicky drums and intense synthesiser lines, before both the alien-like LFO belches of 'Counteraction' and heavily filtered sub bubbles of 'Meditate' takes us to an entirely different dimension, unleashing a serious beast to say the least.
