Review: Matrix is only Fetcher's second release, but it shows that he is already a highly competent techno producer. "Surface Tension" is a hammering peak time track, its slabs of visceral sound building to a screeching, shrieking crescendo over a pile-driving rhythm. It's like Robert Hood getting it on with Jay Denham's Black Nation catalogue. Meanwhile, "Magnetic Fields" sees him venture into a deeper direction. Its subsonic bleeps and tonal shifts, combined with a sleek, hypnotic pulse put him in a similar league to Sleeparchive and Sandwell District. Clearly, Oscar Mulero's A&R antenna is still as sharp as ever.
