Albion Collective

Albion Collective is a Belgian dubstep label that nodded onto the scene in 2015 with its rib-rattling productions. Founded by Spencer Harrald and Ben Dunkley, and now run solely by Tom Hermans, the label has dropped some forward-thinking 140bpm ammunition from artists including: JaFU, Jack Sparrow, Taiko, LSN, Reso, Digid, Lord Jabu and Cartridge.

Seek & Move Remixes
Seek & Move (Mystic State remix) - (4:29) 140 BPM Hot
Seek & Move (Molokai remix) - (2:10) 135 BPM
Make You Believe (K-LONE remix) - (3:16) 140 BPM
Review: Following on from the awesome success of Yoofee's 'Seek & Move' drop, it's exciting to see that Albion Collective have linked up with the celebrated soundsmith once again, this time to unleash a monstrous collection of remixes from some of the most exciting 140 talents out there. We open up with Mystic State's volatile reload, fusing warbling sub textures with tap dancing percussion and wavy subs for a vibrant display, followed by Molokai's more abstract overhaul, focussing on bubbling percussive pops and gnarly reeses for good measure. Finally, K-Lone touches down for a bubbling rebuild of 'Make You Believe', utilising glittering arpeggios and hard hitting kick crunches to see off this project with a final splash of finesse on its closer.

Review: As ever, the consistency and A&R skillsets of the Albion Collective team ring very true in this one as we are greeted by Yoofee, who delivers three system ready chompers. We begin with the vibrant rhythmic displays and colourful drum skips of 'Seek & Move', a throwback, marching goliath. Next, 'Janker' arrives with a much more demonic vibe, combining gnarly sub punches with eerie, high ended melodic flutters to really unleash those devilish tones. Finally, 'Make You Believe' gives us one hell of a finale, combining delicate ascending arpeggiators with shuffling drums and molten subs below. A wicked selection to say the least!

Toastin
Toastin - (4:52) 140 BPM Hot
Luna - (4:24) 140 BPM
Gelato - (3:47) 140 BPM
Review: The Albion Collective definitely have an ear for the futuristic and wavy, which goes without saying when you peep their recent run of releases. This brand new three tracker from Teffa is another perfect example of that as we kick off with system-smashing kick drums and all-engulfing subs of the title track 'Toasting' delivers a subby punch of bassy goodness. Next, we witness some fabulous LFO distortion and rhythmic shuffling as the metallic synth work of 'Luna' gets given a much appreciated run out, before the more stripped back, dubwise style arrangement of 'Gelato' puts the final touches on a top class outing from Teffa.

Review: Having been nominated in the category of 'Best Record Label 2019' as part of the celebrated Duploc awards, Albion Collective can safely say that they have smashed 2019 out of the water. This final release of the year sees them out in style as the rapidly rising sounds of Cartridge, also nominated in the 'Best Breakthrough Producer' lands with three tracks of explicit heat. The title track 'Cashmere' combines impactful drums with eastern influenced woodwind melodies to cook up a storm, followed by haunted plucks and grizzly sub textures of 'Antimatter' and mystic harmonies of 'Sacred Scrollz' to round out the year in style.

Review: Albion Collective have had an undeniably fire 2019, showcasing an array of exciting new artists through their highly respected label platform. They continue this energy as they invite in the spooky sounds of LSN for four tracks of pure power, kicking off with the scattered, unpredictable drum work and warbling electronic subs of 'I Don't Know What That Means'. The title track rolls into play next as 'Oscillator' combines hard hitting bass tones, shimmering Asian melodies and haunted female lead vocals for a tasty recipe, followed by 'Gone For Never', a lethal combo of violent bass slides between LSN & AxH. To round up, the choppy, hip-hop drum work of 'Rubberhands' provides the perfect contrasting finale!

Review: What a wicked time of it Glume is having, as the Bristol based dubstep mastermind continues a fantastic run of releases, gaining respect from all corners of 140BPM based music. This latest project comes to us courtesy of the super consistent Albion Collective, who house the official remix project for his 2018 heater 'Thug'. We firstly welcome Glume back with a fantastic VIP version of the project, packed with steppers energy, before FLO gets busy with this trippy 'Repaint' appearance. Next, dubstep high flyer and all around badman Mr. K joins the party, deploying succulent subs and rolling drums into the field, before FLO returns for his second remix, bringing together yet more hallucinogenic flavours. Very tight stuff indeed!

Review: As ever, we were thrilled to see Reso's name on this one as he makes another dive into the dubstep realms, housing himself comfortably alongside the very well respected Albion Collective across four tracks of pure fire. The shackles are off on the title track 'Focus Inwards' which unleashes some incredibly weighty bass movement, followed by the gnarly sub structures and skippy drum maneuvers of 'Smashed Up'. To follow, we land on the 808-lead drum machine work and smooth reese expansions of 'The Essence', before landing on TMSV's potent recreation of 'Focus Inwards' just in time to tie everything together.

Review: It's been a fantastic year for the Albion Collective, who seek to see out the year in a blaze of glory as they invite the infamous Taiko inside for a very spicy two track project, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. We kick off by being thrown right into the ruckus as the devastating bass growls and glitchy synth designs of 'Panchaea' kick this EP into life. We then get even darker as we move into 'Old Like Dirt', which through a combination of lazy drum structures, pulsating, moogish bass tones and trippy, eastern sounding background atmospherics pull together to create a real masterpiece in 140 arrangement.

Skateland - (3:50) 140 BPM
Skateland (Sepia remix) - (4:16) 140 BPM
Review: As one Bristol's real dubstep princes, we were thrilled to see Glume teaming up with FLO and Sepia for an absolute mammoth of an EP courtesy of Albion Collective. The title track 'Thug' is a dungeon driven roller, fuelled by lethal sub movements and super sharp drum crunches, perfect for turning up the dance. On the flip, 'Skateland' takes the stage alongside FLO, and it's another belter, jam packed with original steppers energy. We are thrilled to see Sepia step up on remix duty for this one as he gets busy on his stripped back rethink of 'Skateland'. Brilliant stuff.
